Torch squeezes forward and raps one knuckle sharply against the door, twice in quick succession. "Hello?" they gently call. The door shifts a little and Torch goes still. "It's already open. It's not latched. Do we just go in?" Torch presses the door just a bit, ready to open it fully if the others sound approving.

"I don’t know whether things are different at the Academy, but I haven’t been any place where is was considered good manners to wake a chap up by walking in to his bedroom uninvited. Perhaps if we shut the door and knocked very loudly?".

The deep gnome looks at Q and says, "Well, I have some cousins who would just run in and jump on someone’s bed unannounced to awaken them, but maybe that’s just a gnome thing.

The artificer smiles at Frug and replies, "Your cousin's sound like they are a lot of fun. And please, just 'Q', no need for formalities amongst friends". With that, Q grips the door handle and crashes it shut with all his might. Without waiting to see if Mirt awoke, Q addresses the mighty Minotaur, "Would you be so good as to give the door a good old rap, Johnny?"

You give the door a good knocking, and Mirt opens a single bloodshot eye and speaks:
Uuuurgh… by Ilmater’s buttocks, mah head is explodin’! If ye’ve come to drop off that thing, just put it on the rug there, open it as quietly as ye can, and let me die in peace.

Johnny clearly hears a strange thump from inside the crate and those close to him can also hear something.

She does glance at the captain from a distance, to make sure he seems alright.

You do as ordered, take the crate into the rug, and start to pry it open. As you open the crate’s lid, a cacophony of high-pitched squeals emanates from within. Grotesque creatures scuttle into the light: ugly cat-sized monsters with hairy, spiderlike bodies and eel-like heads. Mirt yelps in shock, tumbles from his bed, and lands heavily on the floor, dragging his bedcovers with him.

8 tiny creatures emerged from the box looking hungry and aggressive. Mirt rolls about on the floor, trying to unravel himself from the bedcovers.

They rolled poorly and you all but one rolled better. I'm going to say all players go first, then the Neogi Hatchlings

Frug quickly pulls out his rapier and says, "This is why I came from below! What adventure!"

He stabs at one of the hatchlings.

He then thinks about how he can learn how to move more efficiently while engaging in melee.

Q whips out what appears to be a screwdriver from the left sleeve of his tunic and points it at the pair of creatures towards whom Frug thrusts his rapier; the artificer yells, "Fiat Lux" whereupon a flash of lightning strikes the hideous beasts

"Gross! Bugs!" Acaelia says. Her mind races through her spells, but realizes that those all love a good long distance, and these bugs are all over them! Yuck!

So in response she just pulls out her dagger and stabs it at the disgusting bug in front of her.

Has it been 8 hours since the illusion-deck simulation battle? Asking if Mage Armor is still up :)

Frug draws his rapier and in one fluid motion stabs and kills one of the hatchlings. While Quintis electrocutes the hatchling next to it. This one turns its evil eyes on him, getting ready to punch

@therecusant when rolling unmodded saves please include DC. It is cumbersome for me to look it up in your character ;)

Johnny swings his sword and cleaves the third hatchling. Torch flings fire at his own feet, luckily enough he hits and sings some hairs on a hatchling. Acaelia is grateful for her mage armor is still in effect as she slashes a hatchling with her dagger.

The hatchlings crawl all over Acaelia and while one bit brings her down, other climbs on top of her to bite into Quintis's soft flesh.

In the background Mirt hops around in his underwear, trying to pull on his breeches.

OOC:

6 hatchings can attack 4 characters 1:Torch, 2:Acaelia, 3:Frug, 4:Johnny. If a character drops, they will move one to another target. Ignore the second attack on Acaelia

Johnny glares at the nasty little bugs as their bites cause Acaelia to drop the the floor, "Ye nasty little beasties, I’m gonna knock seven bells out of ya!"
