OOC:
@Antiproduct -I think we're waiting for you.

Jimi is bravely hiding behind a fence pole.
Ed shot a bolt at AH6 (15 to hit, 2 damage).
Mor swung and probably missed (6 to hit).

Ed has heroism (3 temp HP to Ed at the start of each of his turns).
Mor has bardic inspiration.

Banditto number one turned to shout some profanities at Mor when Ed made his shot - making his perfectly aimed headshot into a non-lethal arm scratch that hurt the bandit nonetheless.

Mor - distracted for a split second, lost her aim and her greataxe barely scraped the Thug's armor who lashes out and swings his mace twice at Mor.

Bandit number two throws his crossbow down and unsheathed his scimitar, closing in on Ed and attacking him as he signals Bandit #1, who draws a net that he throws at Mor.
OOC:
DC10 Dexterity saving throw for avoiding the net; upon failing, you become restrained.
[ +- ] Restrained
To remove the condition, the character must take an action to make a DC 10 Strength (Athletics) or deal 5 points of slashing damage to the net.

Little map explaining; the numbers on the bars under the baddies represent damage taken. Red color means the opponent's HP is at half or below.

While still standing Mor's looking rough after the last mace blow. Not so rough, however, that a net is going to catch her. It drops to the ground after a simple step to the side.

Rolls

Dex - Save - (1d20+1)

(16) + 1 = 17

OOC:
So, by my reckoning, that attack misses Ed and Mor's taken 8 damage so far (halving and rounding down each damage for raging).
So it's our turns, in any order.

Ninjim

Adam

Sep 16, 2022 8:45 pm
Ninjim crawls under the post to hide under the straw (AD6).

If that bandit by the door comes into range (AD7 or AE7), then Ninjim shall leap up and stab him.
OOC:
Readied action, attack. With a stealth of 14 he'll probably be an unseen attacker with adv?
Ninjim

Rolls

Stealth - (1d20+0)

(14) = 14

Ed, feeling lucky that the last Slash didn't hit him, jumps back (only 1 sq), and then shoots his crossbow to the same bandit he shot last time.
OOC:
A small jump is to avoid attacks of opportunity from the closer bandit.

Rolls

crossbow attack - (1d20+2)

(10) + 2 = 12

crossbow dmg - (1d6)

(4) = 4

OOC:
If Ed moves back, the baddy will get a free attack on him. Is Ed feeling that lucky?

Oh. I see. You're moving 1 sq west.
Sep 17, 2022 9:32 am
OOC:
C'mon Mor. It's time for you to ruin this guy's day.

Mor power!
Sep 17, 2022 9:42 am
OOC:
Sorry, I wasn't clear. Ed jumps north, away from the closer bandit, but stil in range to shoot the one he has been shooting all along. He hopes that the other one must be low on life now and this last shot will do the trick.... specially if he has his attention on something else.
Sep 17, 2022 9:43 am
OOC:
So why does he avoid to attack of opportunity?
Sep 17, 2022 10:36 am
OOC:
If I have my rules right... If Ed uses his ranged weapon in melee distance, his enemy gets attack of opportunity. I'm avoiding giving that Bandit an att.of opp. against me. And a 5ft step back doesn't count as a whole movement action, so no problem shooting the crossbow after it.

OOC:
Are those Pathfinder rules? Maybe 4e?

With 5e opportunity attacks, it's just moving out of the enemy's reach that provokes it.
[ +- ] Opportunity Attacks
But, yeah, with this guy next to you, you'll have disadv with a ranged weapon.

I see, I must have confused with other systems' rules. Then he doesn't jump anywhere...sorry for all the confusion

Arr. I'm lucky that I know only 5e. I am blissfully unburdened with knowledge that might confuse me.
Sep 17, 2022 12:43 pm
OOC:
I'm both burdened with several rule sets (mostly 3.5e) and not much time to unburden them. :P
Sep 17, 2022 12:49 pm
OOC:
I find it surprising that there aren't more 3.5 games on GP. I guess it's not quite old enough to have that OSR cool yet.
Sep 17, 2022 1:08 pm
OOC:
True... I'd guess that 5e is more friendly, less focused on detailed rules, which I find much better to allow for more fluent role-play. But the again, confusion still may arise with such players that haven't put the time to properly learn the whole 5e system (as myself), sorry about that!
Sep 17, 2022 1:20 pm
OOC:
No apology needed, dude. I play only 5e, and I miss stuff all the time.
Sep 17, 2022 8:27 pm
OOC:
Just to confirm, is Ed still shooting tootin?
Mor redirects the axe's momentum, coming in for a shoulder slot shot, but it's knocked away. She growls in the bandit's face.
OOC:
C'mon dice.

"Ye haven' been washin' much lately, haven't ya?" the Thug asks Mor with a smug face right before he resumes battering her with his mace.

Bandit#2 lashes out with his scimitar at Ed with great gusto - although in pain, with a crossbow bolt protruding from his left knee.

Bandit #1 picks his crossbow again and moves between the two melee fights, so he can provide some aid when it's needed.

Rolls

Bandit: Scimitar - To hit Ed - (1d20+3)

(19) + 3 = 22

Bandit: Scimitar - damage to Ed - (1d6+1)

(6) + 1 = 7

Thug: Mace - To hit 1 - (1d20+4)

(13) + 4 = 17

Thug: Mace - To hit 2 - (1d20+4)

(11) + 4 = 15

Thug: Mace - damage 1 - (1d6+2)

(5) + 2 = 7

Thug: Mace - damage 2 - (1d6+2)

(1) + 2 = 3
