Well, it wouldn't hurt to ask about the bow... since Fafnir is apparently shopping at a much different store than Gonnar.

Welp, I guess bows are expensive e in this part of the world. It's that damn global string shortage!

Clearly not a lot of academics in the port town. Still, I can't be an explorer without copious notes and sketches of rare creatures, so I am going to buy the Backpack, Parchment and Ink/Quill bringing me down to no coins and explaining why I am working my way across the ocean.

I'd trade in my flail for a 1-handed hammer (more flavor than anything) if allowed before we board the ship. I'd also purchase a backpack, a flint and steel, and a small hatchet if allowed.

@C1NDER — our GM has green-lighted shopping, basically spending the coins you rolled at chargen before we start. However, per the awesome cost rules in TBH, you have to roll 1d8 for common items to see how much they cost in coins when you buy them…

Maybe our trusty thief, Mauve, can 'acquire' some handy gear from the ship before we depart? Fafnir would be happy to run a distraction.

@C1NDER, I can definitely see Fafnir being very interested in Halor Smyth's teachings. Perhaps he might show disbelief at first, not wanting to get his hopes up. He'd want to see if you and your southern God are the real deal. But the concept of "re-forg[ing] a person to become better than they were the day before" would be very tempting to Fafnir the Cursed. After all, he has persevered under difficult circumstances. Perhaps this Vulkir, The Earth's Ire, may even be able to help him with his curse - a thought he'd careful guard against investing too much hope in, but would be unable to deny.

Definitely, she'd be up to that!

I love it! I had been tinkering with the notion that Fafnir's curse might draw him and Halor together. Once he becomes aware of the curse, Halor might even consider it a noble purpose to help cleanse Fafnir of it.
