Ash hears the ticking and the giggle. "Hell-o! Is there someone here with us?" He looks at Cade and adds, quietly. "The journal page did say the sounds of a little girl were heard by that guy who didn't want to leave this place years ago."

Cade sticks the end of her truncheon into the hole to see how deep it is and then in the direction of the curve to possibly gauge how far in the gap may be. "True enough." She acknowledges Ash's surmise.

Reluctantly, Cade reaches into the hole and tries to feel for whatever is in there and drag it out. "Ash. Pull me out as the first sign of trouble. I don't want to loose my arm."

It's easy enough for Cade to grab onto the object. A two faced clock. The left face is currently set at about 4:15, the right at approximately 8:30

Cade watches the shadow moving in her periphery. "Ash.." She says quietly. "..Did you see that? The shadow?" She returns her attention to the clock only after assuring herself that the shadowy figure is no longer there.

"A clock? Why would someone hide a cl..." Ash's words are cut short by Cade's question. He looks around quickly, but doesn't immediately see what it is she's excited about. "Umm..no. Where? What did it look like?"

"Can you stop that clock from its incessant ticking?" Ash asks Cade. "What's the current time any way?" He tugs out his cell and looks at the screen to see if it shows the time.

"it was a child I think or at least the shadow of one. It skipped across the room." Cade finally says. She grips the clock and looks for any winding mechanics or setting pins.

The clock doesn't have specific setting pins, but in your investigation it's clear that the hands are easy enough to move.

Is it the clock that's ticking, or the room? You can both hear the giggling occasionally now.

Cade puts the clock closer to one ear to try to finally determine if the ticking is coming from the device of their surroundings. "We should look for another way out of this room." She gestures toward the darkness opposite the way they entered. "I wonder..if I set the hands of both faces to the same time, what might happen?"

"You're correct of course." Ash agrees. "We should keep moving and try not to waste too much time in one area, at least until we've checked out all the rooms in this house."

"Hold up Ash." Cade calls to her friend and closes the distance between them. "Let me try something and see if anything happens." She grips the clock and attempts to winds the hands of the second face counter-clockwise to match the 4:15 of the first.

Cade's response is immediate and she manages to scramble away from the clock. There is still an aura of fear around the bloodshot eyes, as they turn to look at both figures in the room and then dissipate.
