"Woah! That was insane." Ash comments and glances down at the clock. "That ticking is starting to get annoying." He stares into the dark other end of the room, trying to focus on the details in the shadows. "Let's keep moving, alright Cade?"
Oct 6, 2022 10:14 pm
"Yeah." Cade agrees. "Let us see if there's another way out of here."

She leaves the clock on the floor for now and moves with Ash to check out the rest of the area.

The pair of you move together past pillars.

Past pillars.

Pillars.

Leveraged up floorboards.

Pill- wait.

Ash does a double take and glances behind them. "Wait! That's not right! We're not getting anywhere."
Oct 7, 2022 6:58 pm
Behind you is darkness, the door isn't even visible anymore.

A giggle to your left
Oct 7, 2022 7:02 pm
"I'd ask you to pinch me to make sure this is not a nightmare, but I can already tell it isn't. At least not in the typical sense." Cade says to Ash. She looks around to see if she can still see the clock. "If the normal way doesn't work getting us out, there's not many other options:That stupid clock or through one of these windows. And I've seen in my previous nightmares that throwing things is not a good idea."

"I have a hunch." Ash says to Cade quietly and points to their left. "Let's follow the sounds and the shadows. Maybe its trying to get us to follow." Ash begins moving in the direction of the child-like giggles.

Cade gives a quiet, if frustrated, nod to Ash and accompanies him to their left.

You follow the giggles for awhile, drawn through the darkness, but no progress. How long have you actually been in this room? Does it have an end?

You find yourself back at the columns, though you could swear you had been moving towards the other side of the room.

Cade shakes her head. "So frustrating..."

"Maybe the way out of this area is hidden." She moves over to the windows looks for a latch or well-hidden catch that might actually be a door or an exit through one of the windows.

Moving past, you see that the floorboards aren't in the state you left them, but in fact the state you found them in. Someone clearly started to pry them, but they're in place.

Getting to the windows, they let in light, but outside there's...nothing. The image behind the panel is a dark void. Their height makes them a little hard to inspect, but the glass seems to be old stacked glass cubes. Each of which is maybe a quarter of a foot in each direction. This seems to include thickness.

Ash sees the floorboards and moves over to crouch and examine them. He looks up to Cade. "You ever seen an old movie called Groundhog Day? Well, I think we're stuck in the same kind of loop until we do exactly what, whoever created it, decides we've done things in the right order in here."
Oct 13, 2022 7:18 am
"UGH! This is why I've never enjoyed playing video games." Cade groaned. "My solutions to problems never seem to match what the programmer has decided is the answer." She crouches down beside Ash. "Do you think that weirdo clock is back in there? I don't hear it."
Oct 14, 2022 8:33 pm
As if naming it causes it to be, the clock begins ticking anew.
Oct 14, 2022 9:38 pm
"Let me this time." Ash says to Cade and repeats her actions when she first pulled the clock out from under the floor. He reaches in carefully and tries to get hold of it.

Easy enough to get the clock, even if it's a little nerve wracking, not being able to see what you're doing. Unlike the rest of the room, it hasn't reset. The hands are both on 4:15.

The seconds tick on loudly.
Oct 18, 2022 9:46 pm
"Hold on to yourself." Ash calls out. "I have an idea and I hope its not a really bad one." He grasps the clock steady in one hand and winds the hands on both faces forward to 12 o'cock.

The clock begins chiming. One, two...

At twelve, a door forms between the faces of the clock. Through the crack in the door there seems to be what might be a foyer.

OOC:
WTF? Is this an actual life-sized door that we could try to enter?

Not technically, but thinking about passing through it....causes you to be stolen away to the next room. I realized I'm not 100% sure how to achieve that in text form and I think asking the question is close enough....
