I saw this site being discussed on an RPG forum. I'm not entirely new to PbP, but I am interested in connecting with a network of people that enjoy it. I've been messing about with ttrpgs for about 8 years now.

I'd really like to get in (or run) a GURPS game.

GURPS is just one of those systems that doesn't see the light of day very often for a variety of reasons. One of which is that there's usually a system out there that's more setting-specific that gets used for genre games. Another reason is that it can be a bit crunchy for some GMs/Players and these days there's a definite lean towards more narrative-based games, like the Powered by the Apocalypse or Fate based games.

One of the longest games I ever played in was a GURPS WildCards game that ran about 12 years or so but have played a couple of others (Space and Fantasy) along the way as well. I enjoy the system a lot but realize that it's not for everyone, unfortunately.

Oh, and Welcome Aboard! I highly recommend jumping into the DISCORD channel to get to know everyone!

As Witchdoctor said, it just doesn't get played often here, but not for any technical reasons. Falconloft started a GURPS game this year to try and broaden the reach, and I found that the system was kind of cool.

Welcome to GP, feanaro00, and good luck with getting a GURPS thing rolling! I ran GURPS heavily in the 90s at a live table, and while it surfaces from time to time in PbP, it seems like a lot of generic-loving folks have moved on to games like Savage Worlds, Fate, and Everywhen.
