Hi I'm Geoff, I played (and occasionally refereed) RPGs with schoolmates quite a bit in the 1980's. We started with D&D Basic and Traveller, and tried a few others like Aftermath, Champions, Paranoia, although the vast bulk of time was spent playing AD&D.
I lost touch with everyone after leaving school and haven't played since then. But I have kept up an interest in SF and Fantasy and still enjoy reading many of the authors I read around the time I was involved in RPGs, such as CJ Cherryh, Jack Vance, Michael Moorcock. So while it might just be a bout of nostalgia rekindling my interest in RPGs, I have some hope it might endure beyond that.
I have the hardback books from the time (Traveller big black book and AD&D 1st edition), but only bits and pieces of the others. The game I am most interested in playing more of is Traveller, but I wouldn't mind getting back into AD&D as well, or trying something new in the SF or fantasy genres.
