OOC Thread for Alpha

Oct 14, 2022 5:18 pm
Hey all, I’m putting this here as a means for the adventuring group Alpha to have OOC chats amongst themselves.

I’ve set permissions to this sub-forum so that those in the other group can read about your adventures and can look at your posts, but they cannot post in this sub-forum.

Please test out your permissions at your convenience.

I’ll be doing the same for the Beta group, too.

Adventuring Group Alpha (you are all welcome to rename your group as you see fit) consists of the following adventurers:
- Bracus the Healer (green primal dragonborn druid), run by @GeneCortess
- Wotan Ygg Yjungr (variant revenant human barbarian), run by @Jomsviking
- Stekko "Gravelsnake" (fireblood primal dwarf chanter), run by @MrFaberJack
- Lilla'martu (variant human shadow sorcerer), run by @Plum
- Medheyg (cliffclimb shifter ascetic), run by @jollycooperative

Hi ho everyone!

Looking away from the RP aspect for a moment, mechanically I intend to build Lilla for crowd control rather than as a blaster/nuker. I will of course still take Fireball if/when we get that far.

If anyone has any opinions on that, let me know.

Looks good. I checked my Alpha clearances and I can read but not post.
I can't post in their thread, so it looks good both ways.

I'm going to go for a trap-setting build. The capacity to basically turn stones into landmines that the Fireblood has should work wonders with illusion spells.
Besides that, I'm a Bard, so I will look carefully what the party seems to lack in the first adventures and I will try to fill that role later if it is in line with the direction that the roleplay is taking.

EDIT: if you have crowd control, maybe some cool combo will come out! We'll see.

Haha well Level 1 is pretty lacklustre for spellcasters, so right now my only real crowd control is Grease but we'll see as things go on.

Sleep needs a place on your spell list it is the best crowd control spell in 5e.

OOC:
I do like grease spell. Bracus hoards a fairie fire.
Bracus isn't the most friendly person. He really has a define scent about him that great for killing off mosquitoes and such. Most people avoid his personals space as the scent doesn't seem to bother him.

This is going to be fun.

Wotan smells like Moth Balls and Toothpaste. Together they have a combined Charisma score of -2

Bracus is for sure a Dragonborn and he will gladly point that out. Besides being a wonder with balms and such, he is known to be a straight up swords man. He has a brash fearlessness about him. And rightly claims Worldheart Dragon’s own brood flows though him. He doesn't have a Dwarven beauty of a sword, but he does have one created by Orcs. He calls it "Bushmac" the sword of healing. (by spec a scimitar.)

Beside a general rent of a smell which by the way is his breath weapon too, he is rather standoff, but there is no question of his loyalty to the Two-Axe tribe. He actually isn't bad to talk to if you get over the smell and the back off attitude. He doesn't like anyone in his personal space.

He has a leather cord around his neck with many small holy symbols of deities, that he asks for blessing at times. He seem to believe in a multitude of gods and has a strange voo doo like nature about him as he heals. As a healer he is very strange. And not a person you can just chum up to. If your part of the Two-Axes then you're sure to have his blessings.

Gwehrsus, the Giant Boar (God)
The Two-Axes put up with Bracus on account of his healing in times of need. Gwehrsus, though he feels the draining of his power, and is not tricked by the dragonborn, he puts up with him, and has officially had Suuru call Bracus a "guardian", though only Suuru would know that Bracus does not actually receive his powers from Gwehrsus directly.

I agree. It's on my to-take list. I opted for Grease this time since it imposes disadvantage and there's synergy maybe with Mind Sliver.

Edit: are we doing smells? Lilla smells like sugar, spice, and everything nice of course.

@MrFaberJack can we say that Stekko, having run into Lilla a few times abroad, was the one that invited her to the ceremony?

Would that be reasonable?

Mmmh, funerals are a delicate matter. I don't think that Stekko would invite an outsider unless it is a very close friend of the deceased. However, we can do it in two-ways:
- Lilla knows that she is welcomed around the Two-Clan fire as long as Stekko is around, so she might have come knowing that;
- Lilla was with Stekko hanging in the wild when the news of the death of Brakar reached them, and she went with him back to the clan.

If you have another option I'm happy to listen.

The latter seems okay to me if it's okay with you.
