To set up ties...I had an idea for Breathe. Yi'gga was a captive, a slave of some unnamed clan. Perhaps before Breathe became who/what they are today, their dam spent some time with that clan. And perhaps the dam actually treated her with some kindness, so when they meet again, after Breathe awoke, she wants to return the kindness, but since it was such a small memory, Yi'gga is little more than one of those shadow memories that Breathe gets once in a while.
Based on @tibbius post, Seyala wouldn't approve of Yi'gga and the path she's on, but in this case it wasn't 100% her choice. Perhaps they will find common ground after spending some time together.
So, I lagged a bit on Breathe's background and Dam identity because I wanted to give anyone a change to know its Dam but you are the first one to bite. Anyhow I welcome the idea. Breathe's Dam was one of the clan's gatherers. A young male human named Kragg who spent a lot of time away foraging alone. This was to hide his druidic powers (that you don't know about yet, but Breathe inherited). Kragg died when the ooze sire suffocated him by dropping on his head. Hence Breathe was made.
Breathe is the ooze inside the Dam and has shattered memories of its host and some of its abilities (there's no way of knowing how powerful a druid Kragg was and what god-destroying feats he has under his modest hide belt, but our beloved DM may exploit this gap in memory to his heart's desire.) As Breathe only gained sentience a few weeks before the start of the adventure it is still coming to grasps with its new existence. The whole world is an unknown to it, including other sentient beings and their customs. So Yi'gga acting as its caretaker is beneficial. One things is abundantly clear though; Breathe is
always hungry.
