I will be on a business trip Monday through Thursday. I will be checking, but not frequently.

I'll be away on vacation from 8/9 - 8/15. I should be able to check in, but only once/day. If I don't, and I'm slowing things down, feel free to NPC Blornvid.

Well sounds like both of you will be slow. I can have patience so no need for psyber to npc you.

Psybermagi, where did you get the shaman rules from? I don't remember seeing them in the base rules.
The shaman is in one of the settings. I listed shaman as an option in my character creation thread here and then revised the official rules a bit to fit the game. It is very similar to spell touched just a bit slower and most versatile. When i set up this game I wanted people to try and be creative in picking traits to fit their character ideas and we would create their definitions together. But not everyone thinks that way. Some picked from my list, some had there own ideas, others went and read the full rule. All ok.

I'm all for you doing it with your touch. I have no issue with your version. It's just that you said there was an "official" version and I was curious where to find it.

If/when I get another Trait, I have something specific I'm gonna ask for ...

(It has nothing to do with shamans. It *does* have something to do with what I tried before.)

Found it! Thanks!

I guess I just totally forgot about that one. Glad both styles work, instead of being mutually exclusive like in that setting.

I am trying to allow more free form but have to keep some limits for balanced fun and fair play.
I also allow psionics, magitech, runesmith, and other forms of power including prestige (tier II) traits that build on existing traits and have a bit more power as long as I can wrap my head around a framework good enough to make sure any interested players understand the power options and limitations

@Psybermagi,

Hello everyone! I played in a few PbP games 15 years ago. I rediscovered RPGs about a year ago and because I live abroad and have a family now I havent been able to form a group to play with. I have been desperatly trying to get solo to work with mixed results, and rediscovered PbP. I'm not sure how long I'll stay as I have a ton of systems I'd love to try out in the future, but this game seems so inviting I couldn't pass it up!

@Solidgobi, Welcome!

Tiny D6 is very light-weight and that just isn't for everyone. I very much like it, but I understand why some might not. Really, it all depends on the flavor and "crunchiness" you are looking for. And, at this point, there is pretty much an offering for every flavor and crunchiness. And there is nothing preventing you from trying more than one game at a time, particularly in pbp!

The system seems pretty interesting, reminds me a bit of Blades in the Dark. I'm eager to just play anything, and want to see how someone manages an open table game. Excited to be a part of the game!

I have to say I have been extremely impressed by Psybermagi. He has players constantly coming in and going out, and he keeps up with everything, including giving everyone a little journey to the expedition. I am extremely impressed with how well he handles the whole thing. His patience is very impressive.

You never know how much patience you have until you have kids of your own and try to raise and teach them and help them be the best they can. And hopefully they actually want to be good at something, anything really.
After that getting some people who are trying to have fun and be the best player/character they can is relatively easy or at least less stressful :)
The hard part is keeping it fun and interesting

So I got an ooc question. I know Gardakhan will be joining the tunnels and based on his story I have some ideas how you plan to do it. So he’s a duende which I don’t really know what that is, but he looks like a goblin or sorts. My question is will our pcs under what he is or will they, like me, think he’s a goblin?
Aug 15, 2023 7:01 pm
From what I read, "duende" covers goblin, halfling, gnome, and possibly others. They are obviously all different in flavor, but are mechanically the same.

To be honest, I had the same thought. I just assumed we'd "meta-game" the situation. Maybe he'll get the chance to parley because we'll be caught off-guard when he ends up being the first goblin to not attack us on sight.

Think of duende as a species and goblin, Halfling, Gnome as race or Clans of that species. Goblins a a special case add they were shaped by magic to breed faster for the war. They gave tuhem bad reputation as a warborn people as they tend to be more violently inclined. There can be duende that are not goblin but resemble them to others but duende can tell the difference. Gardakhan could be a goblin duende and his people simply cast off that moniker or be of the base stock goblins were crafted from. I will leave it up to him.
