No idea what you are talking about. There is not such thing as a "Bad Idea" just poor execution or timing.
OOC:
snickers at the unintentional use of the word "execution" :)

Hold on while I start making a new character...

Smiley says:
Now that I think of it, it would be cool if they were all the same monster, just different "evolutions" of it.
They start as piercers. They change into either a dark mantle or a roper, depending on the circumstances.
Any other creatures that would fit to add to this idea? Gricks?
I believe Pathfinder did something like this where they are all one creature at different stages of life.

In a different thread (Smiley's character thread) I mentioned other traits and such that aren't in the rulebook, but have been published elsewhere by the official publisher. This is a follow-up to that discussion. I thought it shouldn't go in that thread, but somewhere more general. This is the only general thread I can think of, so here is the response.

The publisher (Gallant Knight Games) has an in-house zine call TinyZine. For the first few years they did it, they would collect them at the end of the year in a TinyZine Compenium. They did it from 2018-2021. (Now they're trying a quarterly format with no compendium. 😕) While there are cool things throughout all four, the one I am using for this discussion is the TinyZine Compendium 2019. While the whole thing is 190 pages long, there are 32 pages of just heritages and traits for Tiny Dungeon. And most are included as support for an adventure that is otherwise not part of those 32 pages. For the most part, this list of traits is included in the list given in Psybermagi's trait list! There are also contradictory traits in there, too. For example, they have both a "trait tree" for supporting bards, and (my personal preference) a prestige trait to support bards. Another example is that there are at least three different ways to support two-weapon fighting.

Getting back to the subject of the post I am responding to, there are two base traits to support psionics: Psychic and Precognitive. Psychic is pretty similar to what Psybermagi is doing, but it is a bit different. (Honestly, I think Psybermagi's version is more powerful.) Precognitive lets you test every day to see if at some point later that day you can take Advantage on one roll. (Personally, I'd just give the "one Advantage roll per day" with no enabling roll, but that's me.) If you take either of these, then the Arch Psion trait opens up and that works similar to Arch Mage. The choices for Arch Psion are: Mindbender (charm and illusion), Telekinetic (duh), Hope Wielder (buff others mentally), Augmenter (buff others physically).

For the record, this is also where the Bard prestige trait is. To open the Bard prestige trait, you simply need the Charismatic trait. In addition, it also has Wild Berserker (which requires Berserker and Strong) and Arch Necromancer (requires a base Necromancer trait from the related list of normal traits) prestige traits, too. In another section, there are Cleric-related traits (improved healing and turning undead), too.

Just some thoughts for those who want to go past the base list from the rulebook! (Subject to Psybermagi's permission and interest to do so, of course!)

Thanks for sharing! Sounds like there are quite a few resources out there for this!

FYI : I am not opposed to any Tiny Zine content but as I do not have access to it will need it presented to me for aproval before use.

@daryen Could you post all the specs for all of those different traits?

umm . . .

Maybe just a list and you can ask about things that tickle your fancy
Or go buy it from DrivethroughRPG

I'll work on a simple list. Anything I got into detail on will still be pretty tightly written, as I don't want to violate copyright.

Also, for the TinyZine Compendiums, they are $20, but they do occasionally go on sale. (I got mine on sale; that's the only reason I have them.)

EDIT: I will note that the base Tiny Dungeon 2e rulebook PDF is on sale on DriveThruPRG for just under $11. I don't know how long that will last, but it is there now.

I will considering getting it, as I'm getting rather fond of this approach to roleplay. It's definitely a great format to introduce them, and somehow still manages to feel crunchy. Wish I had used it when I dmed for some friend's kids

Is any of this information available in a wiki or a good YouTube resource? I think it would be interesting to consider what paths of progression exist as we build out the characters. Like, if I want a prestige trait later on, I might kick myself for not choosing some prerequisite trait.

Well, I do strongly recommend getting the base game, particularly since it is on sale at the moment. That gives you all you need to play, plus a LOT more as it includes multiple example "micro-settings", some of which contain their own variant rules and heritages. I am considering everything in the rulebook as assumed known.

TinyD6 is a ruleset for tabletop roleplaying games. It is a minimalist ruleset, so it focuses on being as stripped down, and as easy to learn, play, and teach as possible. I am using Tiny Dungeons 2.
You can go to TinyD6.com for more information or download the cheet sheet pdf. Between the cheat sheet and TinyD6.com you can introduce the system to others. Most of my content here is derived from the cheat sheet and other free and open content. I have posted a few details, like specific traits but try not to do this too much and the rest is made up.

I’m really impressed with the system and especially what you’ve done with it. I think I will buy it so I can play with my kids.

It is great for have enough rules to have some limits, (hit points, actions per round, etc) then the general rule of rolling a "Test" 1d6, 2d6, 3d6 and that's pretty much it. The core books all have additional rules like combat zones, maintaining equipment, experience points, then the settings have even more

I found all of this searching around online.

Oh, that’s great! Helpful to know which sources they come from in case we really want a particular one.

I might want the Tiny Zine 3 for some of those traits. I like the sound of weapon focus and savant.

That's ... very handy!

I don't have TD2e:HE. I have the rest. So I can answer on pretty much all of them.

Do note that DoT is a very different setting, so they may not be appropriate.

And ... the Tiny Pony stuff doesn't really apply.

Also, note that many of the TZ entries are of varying quality. So, for example, the non-prestige stuff for bard (TZ09) I don't think is very good, but the prestige bard (TZ10) is very workable. Really, the best, in my opinion, are those from TZ10, TZ11, and TZ12.
