One of the three, the short man, is bolder than the other two. He lunges forward with his sword to strike, as his comrades pause to seek an opening. He finds no gap in Ognimir's whirling halberd. Indeed, the burly Guardian sends the man stumbling back with a great gash across his naked chest. The other two, strangely, make no sound of outrage or concern. Their eyes flit from Ognimir to the other three Guardians as you burst out the cottage door, weapons to hands.
OOC:
I will refrain from any more graphic description of injuries.
Again, I will telegraph the NPC actions and roll for them, and then you should make your rolls (to find out where you stand in the order of actions) before stating your actions.
Silent, bleeding, fierce, the wounded man redirects his furious assault toward Quintus, who has just shouldered his crossbow. The other two lunge toward Ognimir as the big man's eyes reveal a briefest moment of sympathy for the wounded assailant.
OOC:
Here is what the dice tell us: Revenant 1, the badly wounded one, is about to deal 1 harm to Quintus - unless something kills him. Revenant 2, uninjured, is about to inflict 10 harm on Ognimir (yes, boxcars double the damage roll) - unless something kills her. Revenant 3, uninjured, is handsome, tall, and ineffectual. Think Zack from the Big Bang Theory, with a long sword and lusting for blood.
