In light of the great goblin dispute, I thought I'd make this thread to discuss our expectations of the game and of player/DM behaviors. To begin, here are some rules I would like to include.
• PvP will not be tolerated UNLESS the story call for it AND the involved players agree. Currently there are no modules that expect players to fight each other, but sometimes spells or moral disagreements happen. In the latter case, verbal resolution is much more preferred.
• There will be no discrimination amongst players. This is in character or between players. We are here to have fun, not bicker about petty disagreements.
• If a player expresses discomfort with how a situation is being handled, we will discuss this as players. We don't need a lengthy debate, but we will try for a situation where all players are more comfortable.
• Some monsters are Evil with a capital E. Devils, Demons, etc. They can be dealt with under the assumption they are genetically disposed towards evil. Some monsters are evil with a lowercase E. Goblins, Orcs, etc. Players can decide how to handle them on a case-by-case situation, as they may not always be hostile or problematic. Again, players should have some sort of agreement.
• Character development will be awarded. Character failings will be penalized. If your Paladin compromises his ethics, she can lose her powers. If your Thief decides to protect the orphans from being kicked by others, she may get extra XP. Changing of alignment can have experience penalties as the character struggles to navigate life with a new perspective.
• We are evolving, thinking people! Just because something didn't bother you in the past doesn't mean it can't bother you in the future! Don't feel embarrassed to change your mind!
Below, feel free to put a note or private message about any Lines or Veils you might want included in the game.
