All right nerds, let's figure out marching order! This game won't use strict battle maps, and it's always made sense to me that you could stick two folks side by side in hallways. Remember, spears and polearms can be used from the second row. Rogar offers to take the first row with his mace and shield or the back row to cover the rear., while Brogan offers to take the second with his spear.

What is your marching order Multi Public

First Rank
Second Rank
Third Rank
Fourth Rank

Czespecem initially is agnostic as to where Rogar should march. Both options make sense ... then it occurs to him that, at the front, Rogar will have less opportunity to flee when he is needed most. Of course he does not express that thought. But he does direct Rogar to flank him in the first rank.

As a ranged character, Lith will probably take either the third or fourth spot, willing to adapt to his companions' preference.

tibbius says:
Czespecem holds up a hand. "Hush a moment, everyone ... " he motions Edgar out of the way and aims his big hairy ear toward the opened passage.
I think I found another thing I need to fix in the sheets. It should say "3 in 6" meaning 1 through 3 on a d6, instead of "3-6" meaning 3 through 6 on a d6. I was in a rush getting through those thief skills. But I'll let this be a success given the incorrect information on the sheet.

All right, gang! I'm going to be hidden away in a cabin for a few days, and then we're right in the middle of two holidays. Let's pause this game until, say, the 2nd or 3rd.

See you all next year and have a Merry Xmas if that is what you are up to, otherwise have a enjoyable break :)

@cowleyc, something you did in your post with the stirges seems to have broken that thread for me - the post box does not even appear. It's a problem specific to the thread. Maybe you could add some text in the post? That might help.

It should be working now that the full post is up! Let me know if it's still acting up for you.
Melee Weapon | Hands | Attack with | Damage
[_=crowbar] | 1 | 1d20+[_$=atk_bonus] | [_=1d4]+[_$=dmg_bonus]
[_=shovel] | 2 | 1d20+[_$=atk_bonus] | [_=1d6]+[_$=dmg_bonus]
I did this in my character sheet to somewhat automate rolling.

Gang, there's been a noticeable slowdown in this game. I know the first level isn't quite as action- or trap-packed as the lower will be, but you're just now getting into a more dynamic area. Is there something I can do to crank up your interest again? More wandering monsters?

Sorry on my part was just trying to juggle school holidays, should be getting back into a normal swing from here.

I am enjoying this far

Thanks for checking in. Some thoughts...

I know old school adventures have a lot of empty rooms as a feature, which might be fine around the table, but I am not sure they work very well in an asynchronous format. We've established a party routine, door checkers, trap checkers, etc. but there isn't much to respond to or interact with when we encounter empty rooms. We're basically following standard operating procedures.

I have noticed this same issue when I have run PbP dungeon crawls. Filler rooms don't seem to work well for maintaining pace. I am not sure there is really much that can be done about.

All this to say, I don't think the slowdown is anything on your end. I think it's a function of the medium and the nature of old school dungeon crawls.
