It takes Fred a moment to shake off the feeling that had come over him, the memory of what he had done -- but the trio in the room re-gathers in the hallway with Emily quickly, leaving Kilvert's body behind.
Emily is right -- there
is something coming, and it
is... weird. A slowly pulsating red light, growing brighter as it approaches up the hallway... suddenly surrounded by what look like little pinpricks of blue light. Almost like fireflies, though they are the wrong color.
Lily stamps her foot and tries to shoo the entity away as Zach pleas for the group to get the hell out of there, and that's when the thing makes a bizarre, warbling, trumpeting noise that fills the corridor. The red light is vibrating then, coming at them
fast as they all try to make sense of what they are seeing.

The floating mass looks like a tangle of veins and arteries, a circulatory system pulled violently from its host. The ends of all the waving, cilia-tipped fronds glow a frosty blue, dramatic against the red nimbus of light that the mass of twitching nerves seems to project.
And at that same time, as panic was truly taking hold, there came the noise Emily had heard a moment before. A pounding, desperate, on one of the cell doors from further down the hall -- towards the floating cluster of alien-looking synapses and waving fibers. And then a voice as well, indistinct. A shout?
