Boseman High School Shenanigans: Episode 1

Zach feels sick to his stomach when he hears the noise his bat made on the janitor's skull. Did I just kill someone? He wants to throw up but tries to control himself. "We need to get back to school," he manages to press out when Gromn suddenly starts spasming on the ground. "Like, right now."
He has no idea what's going on anymore, but he just wants to get away from here, out of these tunnels, back to where people are.

Seeing that Zach is ready to take flight, Lily talks to the others. Over the sound of gurgles, she asks:

"Shouldn’t we… finish him off? He won’t forget this."

"Finish him off?" Zach asks her. "This was self-defense. You're talking about murder." He hesitates, then reaches down and tries to take the pipe away from Gromn so at least he wouldn't be armed, even if he does somehow manage to stand up again. "Let's just leave!"

Emily manages to lower her bat and ignore the disgusting bubbling sounds coming from the man that was once a teacher at Boseman High. Her high school memories along with those of the gang here would be unlike anyone else's, that was for sure.

"Quickly before the adrenaline stops flowing and I drop."

"Help Priya, I'll bring up the back," he says, and keeps an eye on Gromn the gurglenator, bat at the ready. His eyes shift back the way they came, cellphone light brought to bear to see what's what.

Zach looks at his hands, bat in one, metal pipe in the other. He offers them both to Emily. "You take these, I'll help Priya," he says. That seems like the gentlemanly thing to do. "Now let's get out of here!"

"I only have two hands, Zach. Jesus!" Emily takes the metal pipe in her free hand.

With one free hand, Zach tries to help Priya to her feet. "You alright?" he asks her. She doesn't really look alright, covered in weird vomit and all. He reaches for the sports bag, dropping his bat into it and taking out the hoodie he took off earlier. "Here, you can use this to clean yourself up a bit," he offers, then he lends her some support to walk back to school.

Frustrated, Lily grabs Zach’s bat from the struggling Emily. She tests the weight of them in each hand, wondering if she could rock the dual-wielding looking.

"We should wash that off as soon as possible!" she says, pointing a bat at Priya’s bile covered chest. "Dilute… whatever it is!"

As Zach is discovering that Priya isn't responding, Mr. Gromn tremors a final time and vomits a gush of blood and reeking yellow pus onto the floor before he finally falls silent. It slowly spreads as it becomes clear that Fred's (indeed drenched) ex-girlfriend is unconscious and will need to be carried.

OOC:

While he's quiet, it's unclear if Gromn is dead.

Not getting a response from Priya, Zach uses his hoodie to carefully clean her face a bit, then he says, "Can someone help get her on my back? I think that's the best way I'd be able to carry her." He's been growing notably stronger since he started taking testosterone, but despite hanging around the jocks, he himself is not as athletic. He definitely couldn't carry a person in his arms the entire way back to school.

Damnit, I don't want to whack him if they're looking.

"Thanks, Zach, but you know what, I can carry her. You did all the work taking down Gromn, so it's only fair I do something." He knows that this is pushing the bounds of his recovery, but if anyone should carry her, it's him, he reasons.

Sticking the bat in the bag, he grimaces to Emily. "Let's get out of here, okay?" he says to her.

"Zach, help me get her into a sitting position." He awkwardly lifts/rolls Priya onto his shoulders, twisting sideways so she's face down across his shoulders, then stands up with her in a fireman carry. "I had to do this with Norm once at a party," he grunts.

As Fred offers to take her instead and the two boys are leaning over Priya, Zach says quietly to his friend, "Are you sure? I mean, I know you and her used to... And with..." He nods towards Emily. "Maybe I should take her," he then offers again, but he'll follow Fred's decision and will help him with getting Priya in position if Fred decides to still carry her.

Zach nods, deciding it's Fred's business, not his. He then helps his friend lift Priya on his shoulders before taking his hoodie again. "So gross," he mutters before folding it so the vomit is only on the inside before stuffing it into the sports bag again. "Let's get out of here finally," he says, starting to walk now as he checks his phone again for connection.

"Shut up. Both of you." Emily glares at Zach first and then Freddie. "We'll be talking alright, Fred." She had never called him Fred.

"Any luck with a signal, Zach? We still aren't free and clear of what this shit is we are stuck in." Emily forges on ahead not sparing any glances at Priya.

"Jesus Christ." Lily says, rolling her eyes. "A little perspective here, lovebirds. You want me to carry her or something?" she says, handing Zach’s bat back to him. She moves ahead, following Emily.
