I prefer new posts because I don't always know to re-visit posts I have already read.
Jan 23, 2023 11:21 pm
Ok, I'll do new post for any new information, for result to hit I will edit the post otherwise it will rapidly become chaos (at least to me).
Jan 24, 2023 12:12 am
Yeah new post. if needed I think you can just quote the original post. I don't reread older post either, since it shouldn't change and when a player makes edits it says they made edits, DM changes don't have that indicator at all.

Just posted in the fight

I don't think I like this forum very much, way too many posts even for just ooc.
Jan 24, 2023 6:36 am
YullyBear I'm sorry to hear you don't like to talk to players in OOC. I still like to talk to DM and I have another recommendation for you:
When snowmans are doing stealth checks during the battle you could use 5e PHB rule that Perception is rolled only by
Quote:
creature that actively searches for signs of your presence
You can use out PC Passive Perception instead as suggested by PHB.

This will both reduce number of posts and increase game peace.

No, I didn't make myself clear.

I do not like the way ooc are handled on the site, I am fine with ooc I generally use them quite a lot.

Yes I know, but if I use Passive Perception, you won't get a chance to spot them, and to me the context is not very passive it is a fight and everyone is actively avoiding and looking for trouble.

Btw, extra attack is a level 5 feature and we are only level 3. I don't even think Anne would get that as a druid/barbarian whose taking druid all the way
Jan 24, 2023 7:32 pm
No, multi attack is given in combat chapter saying you may attack with 2 light weapons in that case you do not add you strength bonus to damage if it is a positive modification. p.195 -- Melee Attack -- Two-weapon fighting.

We are level 4 btw
Jan 25, 2023 3:05 am
Oh ok. But I don't have two-weapon fighting.
Jan 25, 2023 3:13 am
Two-weapon fighting feature is only needed to be able use your modifier on the 2nd attack damage. You can still attack with 2 weapons, PHB p 195.
Jan 25, 2023 5:25 am
I'm a druid/barbarian. I don't have that. Just my wild shape and stuff as I don't attack with two weapons is what I'm trying to say
Jan 25, 2023 5:28 am
It was just an FYI and any class can do it lol
Jan 25, 2023 7:53 am
Everybody have Two weapons fighting, it is not a class nor a level feature.

It is an advantage you get when you use 2 light weapons to fight, even magicians can use it. So it is entirely your choice.

Could a DM please clarify following statement
YullyBear says:
if you fire on SM1 you give him an attack on advantage
Is this a custom feature of the Monster (that we are not supposed to know) or your homebrew rule of you as DM (that we are supposed to know)?

The only PHD rule I'm aware of - would only make Elias attack with disadvantage, not grant any other enemy advantage against him
Quote:
Ranged Attacks in Close Combat
Aiming a ranged attack is more difficult when a foe is next to you. When you make a ranged attack with a weapon, a spell, or some other means, you have disadvantage on the attack roll if you are within 5 feet of a hostile creature who can see you and who isn’t incapacitated.

Yeah that bothered me too, but decided to drop it.

I think DM was applying 3.5 rule for "Attack of opportunity" provoked by an action in a threatened space. That's not the rule in 5e, but I'm okay with it.
Jan 25, 2023 4:10 pm
We are playing dnd 5e not 3.5 though
