Heist the Colours (RP)

Abby looks forlornly around at all her stuff --and at her apartment and her fridge-- but she steels herself and agrees with Raf.

"I suppose there won't be much time for games?" She sighs. "Take that one, and that one, aand... that one, to the living room." She says pointing to the boxes containing the gaming machine and some other luxuries. "I might still need both computers?" She asks, though there will only be opportunities to use the Portable Computer until much later.

Ronny, you have learned where you can get that fancy (TL10) Prototype Portable Computer she has been drooling over, but it will be risky since they are not yet for sale. That could replace the need for several boxes, and (theoretically) preform better for the hard job she has to do, and would definitely make Abby feel a lot better about what she is giving up. Do you want to promise to get it for her now?

Next she points to some of the larger boxes. "Take those to my bedroom." She says, though there is a hitch in her voice and possibly a tear in her eye. "And I will need to get changed into something... more practice and hard-wearing."

"Let me help you with that." Bob says 'gallantly'.

"Of course we are, dear. We want the same thing." Abby says while looking at Cat's lips. Her tone is sweet, but there is still sweet-venom hidden in there too. It is like she has taken an instant and unreasonable disliking to the only other woman on her team, for no apparent reason. Outwardly, and to everyone else, she appears polite and civil.

What do you do?

"Really. The 4300? With the I-Mod?" Abby gushes at Ronny's offer and adds another few boxes to the living-room pile. "We'd better still take my Portable, at least to get and check the Software."

Looking happy, she follows Bob into the bedroom. "Thank you." She says to him after he has deposited the clothes boxes. "I can manage the rest by myself." She adds, unruffled by his 'jokes' but forceful in kicking him out as she bends over one of the boxes to select a new outfit.

Shrugging, Bob grabs a load and joins the others by the van.

A minute of so later Abby comes down as well, carrying the last of her stuff. She is now wearing a dark brown jump-suit that looks very stylish and hugs her waist but then flares out from many pockets. Abby looks wistfully back at her home for the past decade or so before finding a seat in the van.

"Where are we going first?" She asks. "And where and how have you managed to get your hands on a 4300?" She asks Ronny where Bob can not hear, scarcely able to believe her luck.

"Oh." Abby pouts dramatically at the news that she is not getting a present right now, but you know it is all for show. She looks a little startled at the talk of it 'not being missed' --she is still acclimating to her life-prospects outside the conventional law-system. She nod hesitantly, her nerves showing.

"Late, yes." She agrees --possible to distract from bigger issues-- and gives Bob directions.

"That is... not a good part of town." Bob says with some surprise as he pulls into traffic. "I am glad you did not go there alone." If he is worried about taking his van into the 'hood he does not say anything.

The meet is scheduled for an out-of-the-way, open, parking lot behind some shops in a side-street.
Do you all just drive up as a group --with all your stuff-- or do you take a more careful but time-consuming approach?

Bob pulls over a few blocks away. "I'll keep the engine running, shall I?" He asks with his hands on the wheel. He sounds nervous and his eyes are shifting everywhere.

"Won't that draw the attention of the police." Abby says without the inflection to make it a question. She does not sound nervous about that clandestine nature of that whole scene... not until she has to get out of the car, her laptop back clutched to her side. The casual talk of guns is not something she is used to."I need to... examine the product." She says. "Not sure how distracting I can be while doing that." She does not look at Cat.

The parking lot where the meeting is set to take place is surrounded by shabby concrete buildings a few stories high. There is one forlorn tree off to one side.

There are a few cars that look abandoned and empty, and one with dark tinted windows rolled up. You don't see anyone else out there, they must be in the dark car.
