The presence of the macabre collector is a distraction to several of the group. The fear it may change its demeanour prevents a thorough search. However, Kleber has a keen interest in the site. Maybe it’s the call of gold from the possible salvage, but takes note of several items of interest. He takes note of the fact many of the items are in small impact craters as if they had fallen from a great height. Many of the items show signs of scorching or damage from an explosion. He recognizes the pock marked area is not a crash site, but rather where items from the craft must have been thrown from above.
He finds a ceremonial bell engraved with the name ’Cyre ir’Wynarn’. Earic is ecstatic with the discovery. "This confirms the soarwood trail we’ve been following is indeed from the Cyre", he’s giddy with excitement as he sketches it into his journal.
Kleber also finds a very large cylindrical iron tube buried half in the ground. Earic sets the bell carefully in the cart and return to look at Kleber’s discovery. Despite being heavily damaged from the fall, Earic is in awe of it. "That’s an elemental cannon! I didn’t believe they actually existed.", he begins circling around the object, inspecting it. "You see, you put an iron missile in there and once triggered, the elemental launches it through this tube. They’re even more accurate than a ballista and far more damaging. Would it be possible to extract it and bring it back with us?"
As Kleber continues to check on the construct, he makes note of one especially fine dressed body impaled on its back. Earic is too distracted by the cannon to take much notice at the moment.
