Earic Finnini
Earic seems to have to compose himself for a fleeting moment at Kleber’s words. "King Boranel was gracious in allowing the refugees to have a home. There is no denying that. However, the Breland government now wishes to cap the population of New Cyre to prevent it from becoming too powerful. Future refugees would be prohibited from joining their fellow Cyrans. The war may be over, but there is justifiably some paranoia that Prince Oargev may be come too powerful as mayor, should New Cyre be allowed to become anything more than a crossroads for trade.

He once again pauses before proceeding with obvious caution, "It is not my place to speak on behalf of Lady d’Cannith. However, I trust you all with my life and you deserve to be aware of your choices. The innovations on the Cyre id’Wynarn have been thought lost to the grey mists forever. The return of the vessel, it’s secrets, it’s technology and it’s handing to the city of New Cyre, will not be welcomed by many of those in power."

Speaking quietly, 37 offers his position.

"I am an agent of House Cannith. My goal was to earn enough coin to establish my own outpost, possibly a waypoint in the grey. But this... this is an excellent opportunity for the House."

Core isn't a fan of all the politics involved. The coin has been his driving thoughts during the adventure, but the airship has caused things to get complicated. It does take too much thinking to see the investment here.

Core simply says "Earic. I will gladly see you through this." as his input. He lets others deal more with the details.

Although nothing is said, Malbor is also not interested in the politics of the situation. He would prefer to investigate the ship before they turn it over but gaining some notoriety may serve his ultimate purpose better in the long term.
Apr 9, 2023 5:18 am
As everything will have to be turned over eventually I am sure the official should be informed. However that seems like it might remove us from the picture before it is fully understood. I would feel better if we could look over the wreckage before handing it over.

Earic nods at Gzizmix’s comments. "I won’t stop you from going back to the Cyre. You came to Salvation for profit, not politics. What I can tell you is based on my previous conversations with Lady d’Cannith, she can have an airship there in less than three days to collect the wreck. We don’t know how much the warforged knew about it’s location and can’t risk any delay."

He collects the bell from Belaluur wraps it discreetly and prepares to leave. "If you choose to go to the wreck, please be careful. I negotiated a finders fee. If the Cyre is, shall we say, ‘altered’ too much, that may take away from the reward. The first lightning rail for Starilaskur leaves in an hour. If you change your mind, that’s where I’ll be. If I don’t see you, I wish you all the best and pray our paths cross again."

With that Earic leaves Belaluur’s shop and heads to the Temple.

Kleber watches the man depart, his arms still crossed as he scratches his chin in thought. "Not much too do in only one hour...other than that job about ringing the scrapyard bell." Turning towards Belaluur, still cataloguing the last mission loot, he asks "Any idea what's that even is about?"

Belaluur

Belaluur
Belaluur finishes up the paperwork and gathers the coin. She hands Kleber a pouch, "Here’s your share handsome. It’s a bit more since your tiefling friend hasn’t shown up. Unless you’d like to pay down some of that debt.", she pauses for with mock expectation on he goblin face, then continues with a smirking nod.

"Bellerophon Ironhorn, a very large minotaur, even by their bovine standards. Fancies himself a tinkerer. He owns the scrapyard. If any item we brokers find is too damaged to sell, the scavengers can always sell it to him as scrap. I don’t know what the job would be. He has more scrap than he knows what to do with."
OOC:
166 gold, 6 silver and 6 copper for each of you.
It sounds like there’s two potential plans:
1) Join Earic in an hour or,
2) Revisit the wreck site while he’s in New Cyre.
Or secret option 3) take another task.
Let me know in the OOC how you would like to proceed.

P.S - Kleber had wish listed the horn of silent alarm many moons ago.

Gzizmix will take his portion and think for a moment. Deciding he has nothing he needs and can think of nothing to be gained in the hours delay will accompany the others till it is time to meet Earic.

As the group decides to join Earic, Belaluur hands Core a scroll with a gorgon crested seal of House Cannith. "This arrived yesterday for you.", and she gestures to the whole group. "You may need it if you plan to ride around in that fancy cart without issue."

Core breaks the seal, unrolls the scroll and reads it,
[ +- ] Writ of Possession of Elemental Land Cart
"It’s official, she’s all yours. Have fun in New Cyre, boys!"

Writ now in hand, you feel a new confidence in driving your coach in view of those in Salvation. You arrive at the station and collect a pleasantly surprised Earic. "I’m glad I hadn’t bought my ticket.", he says as he loads his gear. "Follow the road west to Starilaskur, Core. With any luck, we should be there by dinner time."

A short way west of Salvation, you pass through the town of Vathirond and then into the open prairie of eastern Breland. Your day is filled with the stares of those travelling by horse and wagon, the quizzical looks from drivers of the House Orien coaches. The weather is fair, the fields green, and birds chirp, all in stark contrast to your experience in the Mournland.

As dusk approaches, you see the glittering, elemental powered lights from the city of Starilaskur. Large stone buildings come into view. You see a lighting rail entering as you approach the centre’s outer limits.
OOC:
If you wish, you may enter the city to find food, accommodation and a place to store your cart or you can try to find a place to camp before nightfall.

Core nearly had tears in his eyes to see the Writ of Possession of Elemental Land Cart.

I'm with you on that Gzizmix. Not a fan of rations either.

Vice looks out the window at the lights 'Excellent, it'll be nice to see a new city."
Apr 12, 2023 9:14 pm
As Kleber see the lights he relaxes a bit, the sight of civilization is welcome after his brief but memorable time in the Mournland and the frontier feel of Salvation Outpost.
He nods at Vice words "New things are always interesting. Do you think we're going to stick around here for long?"

Malbor, disembarks from the carriage and follows behind the others at a short distance. His head down and his cloak over his head, as if the fact that others can not see him would do anything to dim the everpresent murmuring voices in his head. Which it does not.

Earic agrees with the idea of a comfortable location for rest, food and drink. He guides you in to the heart of the city where you reach the grand Starilasku station. The area is the crossroads for the region’s lightning rail and highway. From this point you can travel south to Sterngate or New Cyre and beyond to the nation of Thrane, west to the Breland’s capital of Wroat and the city of Sharn. Or turn north to the gnome nation of Zilargo.

You pull up to a stately looking grey stone hotel. A large carving of a blink dog sits over the ornate golden doors. A halfing doorman approaches the cart. He bows deeply and addresses Core and Gzizmix with a courteous smile, "Good Evening Gentlemen, welcome to the Hotel Ghallandra, Starilaskur. If you would like to keep your coach secure, for a fee, we have an excellent storage area with only the finest Kundarak security in place. Our tavern is second to none in service and cuisine. Not to mention the finest rooms east of Wroat."

You stow your cart in a stall and are given a warding key for it. Inside the hotel, you’re greeted with enchanted lamps lighting the vaulted lobby. The concierge gives you keys to your rooms and you make your way to the tavern. Far from the rough and tumble Grey Betond, the atmosphere here is casual and relaxed. The patrons here are dressed up for a night on the town, engaged in excited banter, enthusiastic diners and playful laughter fill the room. A halfing waiter quickly arrives to take you food and drink order.
OOC:
The night is young, you can explore the area, hang out in the restaurant or retire early. Choice is yours. Storage is 5 silver for the night, the rooms at 3 gold each and dinner is 8 silver each.

Let me know if you’re looking for anything.

This town is overpriced Gzizmix mutters out of earshot of the locals maybe we should have camped outside
Gzizmix will stay with Earic, suggesting a nice hot bath, or steam if there is one in this town, to help erase the aches of the road might do them well. He suggests sharing a room. You did bring up to help protect you. One of us should be with you. If Earic is disinclined he insist that he at least keep 37 with him for the night.

Earic sips on his second mead after dinner is cleared. "I appreciate that Gzizmix. You are more than welcome to share my room. I ensured all our rooms are together. And yes, a nice steam AND a bath sound glorious. Need I remind you, I will cover your expenses, gentlemen. For the trip. *hiccup*"

Earic pays the server and shows Gzizmix to the hotel’s bath house.

Core feels well a home here although his attire is abit on the lesser side. He will enjoy the evening.
Apr 13, 2023 5:58 pm
37 will elect to stay with Earic regardless. Having no need for food or drink (or arguably even lodging), and no money to search out better armor, his best option for the evening's activities is to ensure Earic is safe.
