"First time I am the one being chased in a coach"
OOC:
On his initiative, Kleber will poke his head out the window, trying to see our attacker and screaming to Core the directions to dodge them. I have 90 feet of darkvision while Umbral Sight makes me invisible to the archer, if they are using darkvision.

Already rolling because I will be busy today.

Edit: I would like to spent the weekly re-roll for mine initiative

37 returned to the room in time to see everyone heading out. He tosses the backpack of basic supplies to the elf. "Plans change," he offers as they head to the coach.

Once underway, he looks around from inside, attempting to determine how to get the whole party out of the city.

He reaches out to grab the arrow that struck the cart, pulling it in to scrutinize it for more insight into their attackers. If he can figure out the who, he may have ideas on the how. He takes a moment to focus himself amidst all the chaos, and begins to pour over the projectile.

Gzizmix calls out to Core to head straight down the empty street. The darkened lightning rail station flies by on your right as the coach tears along.

Kleber looks out from the window in time to catch a dark figure dash across the rail station roof. He sees a flicker of light and recognizes the figure is signalling another figure in the direction you’re heading. The second figure skillfully scales down the side of a building to a waiting horse.

As the coach sizzles down the street, the darkness and the bouncing make it difficult to inspect the arrow closely. It appears black with a black arrowhead, but 37 is unable to make out any markings that would identify its maker.

OOC:
Core is up next currently. (Is it making a little sense now?)

I still need initiative for Gzizmix, 37 and Malbor (I’ll still count your skill checks as rolled)

Vice will go last.

He calls back as he drives hard and listens to any advice, "Make sure no one got hit by arrows."

Kleber shouts to Core, warning him of the second shadowy figure. Core spots him easily, he sees an alley approaching and deftly cranks the wheel to the left, disappearing into the darkened narrow passage. The purple light from the elemental allows the crocodilian Core to weave through the alley’s tight corners with ease. He slices out into an adjacent boulevard a few blocks over. With Gzizmix’s direction, you’re able to get back on track and headed south out of the downtown of Starilaskur.

Faintly in the distance, you hear the gallop of horseshoes on cobblestones.

OOC:
Malbor is up, with Vice on deck.
Apr 26, 2023 6:02 pm
Once Core turns down the road, Malbor blocks their escape from prying eyes. His own eyes cloud over and he reaches out, changing the atmosphere in the intersection, which rapidly fills with Fog. If he's timed it correctly, their pursuers will not know which direction they have gone.
OOC:

Malbor’s fog seems to do the trick. The sounds of hoofs come to a stop as Core continues to race down the boulevard. He takes another zigzag turn to take advantage of the fog’s cover.

As he does so, Vice times a carefully placed minor illusion of a trash bin in the entrance to the alley. Whether the distraction worked or not. It seems you have lost your pursuers.

Still under the cover of night, you leave the city of Starilaskur behind and enter the plains of Breland once more. A waning crescent Zarantyr sits in the sky above. Its silvery light is enough to safely follow the trail for now.

You’ve escaped the city and are now en route to New Cyre.

Core calls back, "Is everyone okay back there? That was a fine test of my driving skills to keep up with you guy's stuff." as he continues to speed on. Life still drives on him to do his best what he does.

"We seem to be accumulating enemies faster than friends."
Apr 27, 2023 11:26 pm
Keeping to the side roads, you follow the lightning rail line south. As dawn approaches, the rail breaks off to the southwest and you merge with the main road. The morning passes without incident and you watch as the Seawall Mountains move ever closer. As the sun reaches high noon, you see the fledgling city of New Cyre nestled at the foot of the mountains above.

A small river flows through the heart where the crossroads to Sterngate and Kennrun meet. With rustic cottages, stone buildings, brick houses and cobbled, winding streets, you get the sense of chaos the town was founded on. Mingled in, you find modern amenities and thriving businesses with a small castle-like structure that hosts the small city’s council.

As you enter the city, you’re greeted by the usual gawking stares at your elemental cart. Earic guides you into the city toward a small inn.
Apr 28, 2023 7:07 am
You pull the cart into the attached stable. The halfing tending horses whistles in amazement. "That’s a fine coach you have there.", he says to Core. He guides you to a stall that will fit the flickering cart. Earic exits the cart, quickly followed by Gwenylleth.

Gwenylleth
"Thanks for the ride.", she says curtly. "I need a drink.", and the elf begins to make her way toward the stable’s door.

Earic Finnini
"Its been a pleasure.", Earic says sarcastically. "Will you be joining us for dinner?". He waves a dismissive hand at her. "Bah! I’ll let the city guard know to keep an eye on her. We should be safe here now.", he lowers his voice so only your group can hear him. "I’m going to the Lady’s estate to check in with her plan. I’ll send word to you as soon as I know."

He adds as he begins to leave, "It shouldn’t be more than an hour or two. I’ll set up the rooms before I go. You’ll have a tab for the tavern as well."
OOC:
The afternoon is yours to relax or explore. We’ll say that throughout the day you were able to recover the lost rest. Let me know if you’re looking for anything.

https://i.imgur.com/swKP90Y.png As Core is feeling his earlier fall damage, "I could use to stretch out a bit and a beer would be grand." He leads off to catch up with Gwenylleth and to keep an eye on her.

Quick Core asks Gwenylleth, "And what would you be drinking." as he catches up with the raven headed elf. I imagine the beer here isn't as good as Sharn's.

Gwenylleth
"The beer would be better than that in Salvation Outpost. Let’s hope they at least have a decent elven wine." Her tone is less impatience with Core, instead it’s rather tired. She sighs and stretches her back, wincing a little. "I suppose I’ll need a tailor. Not too many would leap off a building, nor drive as impressively while chased by assassins You’re quite the athlete.", she says with a slight smirk.
