Malbor smiles inwardly but as usual, his face is inscrutible.
"I am just learning the ways of navigation, but I volunteer my services, at least temporarily. I have developed somewhat of a rapore with the elemental on board, so that may be a consideration in my favor despite my relative inexperience."

"We leave in a week for Wroat. Meet me here tomorrow for some practice."
With that, the captain takes his leave.

Kleber noticed the Temple of the Silver Flame as he ran back to the Cyre’s dock.
Vice rounds the corner to see the event has already finished and catches the last bit of Malbor’s conversation with Captain Vren.
Within the hour, the guard contingent protecting Cyre has doubled and far more on edge. Your team has Lady d’Cannith’s approval, but Gzizmix arrives to find the guards in a heated discussion with Sloane who has offered to help.

Kleber stops gawking at the church ceiling and focuses on Friaf. "Hello, name's Kleber. As you may know, I've been working with Earic on exploring the Mournland. During our last trip out of the mist, we encountered some... problems, and I wanted to have a check-up." he says shifting a bit, considering how to phrase the issue without sounding like a madman.
"Everyone had a weird, very vivid dream or vision. On mine one of Khyber's spawn appeared, engaged some strange game, and claimed to get ridd of a mark on me. After that, pursuers appeared hot on our heels. Instead of simply shrugging off, I wanted to ensure that the there wasn't any side effects, and well since I ain't home to ask some druid, the Silver church is mine best bet on those matters."

He pauses once more. "These are ominous signs. If you allow me, I shall send word to one of our brothers in Sharn. He knows more of Dal Quor than I. He may be able to provide more insight."

Kleber gives a heavy sight of relief knowing he's clean of anything, he just nods absently as the man recounts a dream realm the half-orc never heard of.
Kleber thanks the priest for his time, and asks if possible to contact him in case the Sharn specialist has any important info. He then leaves 5 gp as a donation for the church, and sets out to find the rest of the party.

The rest of the evening is uneventful. Earic is taken to a healer to deal with his wounds. The security for Cyre is heavily increased and even the Zarantyr’s crew is only allowed aboard if escorted. Your team is free to come and go as you please. You receive word that you are welcome to stay in the Cyre’s crew quarters, rather than staying at the Inn.
The Orc captain mentions that Rune is recovering and will be questioned in the morning.
Lady d’Cannith is busy with the council for a few days and you’re left to your devices in the meantime.

Let me know if there’s anything you wish to do in the next few days. Otherwise, I’ll have a post ready for tomorrow. Sep 25, 2023 6:50 am
The days pass without incident. Cyre is happy to have the company aboard. You meet the Cannith maker who will oversee the project, his name is Gerald Stoy. He has average features with brown hair and beard and an arrogance that borders on obnoxious. He and Sloane routinely argue about the direction of Cyre’s repairs. Sloane believes the Colossus elemental ring should be repaired and the helm controls removed. Gerald argues that finding a wizard that can fix it would be almost impossible and that Cyre should be happy to be flown around by a pilot instead. He recommends taking out the warforged ring. In an attempt to see if that is possible, it is discovered that cutting into the warforged fibres of Cyre causes her immense pain. Her frightened, whimpering voice asks him to stop. Frustrated, Gerald leaves the undamaged spires alone.
Sloane helps when she can with the basic repairs to the colossus, but it quickly becomes apparent, there is not enough soarwood for the damage she sustained. The decision is made to at least patch the hole and the damage to the decks with regular lumber for now. Cyre’s cargo hold, General’s quarters and ammunition are emptied out, leaving the ship feeling cavernous.
Gzizmix finds a beautiful set of Navigation Tools at a local shop, as well as an Orb of Direction. The gnome inquires on some books on their use and the shop owner happily gives him directions to the local bookshop. There he is presented with many fascinating books on the the skill of navigation.
Vice spends his downtime with Faeris, who indulges the gnome with air shanties. One particular silly song tells the tale of a drunken sailor, who comically falls overboard a flying ship, seemingly to his death. The song says he is saved by a harpy, who is then eaten by a dragon. The sailor then, falls again. You learn the point of the shanty is to make up ridiculous ways the sailor is saved, only to be dropped in an even more ridiculous fashion. Never letting him die, but never saving him either.
Malbor spends his downtime aboard the Zarantyr’s Light, trying to build up his stamina in controlling the elemental. You have success, but soon realize, it may take weeks or even months to get to a point where you could command the elemental for the rigorous hours of airship life. Captain Vren is clearly unsurprised by this and is very encouraging of your natural talent. He shares stories of his first encounter with the elemental on a Cyran air freighter and how it took nearly a year to tame it. Each day, you return to the Cyre exhausted and fall asleep nearly instantly.
Kleber attends the interrogation of Rune with the Captain of the guard. You learn his name is Brok and he survived the Day of Mourning, barely outrunning the mists. He is fiercely loyal to the city. At the jail, the former first mate of the Zarantyr’s Light is very candid in his reasoning for attempting to kill Cyre. He recounts his vision from the mist of an artificer that captures Cyre and converts her to a ‘true colossus’, complete with a colossal death ray. Rune continues saying Cyre is only the first of many, that this artificer intends to learn to build more and bring war to all of Khorvaire. He says he was told he could stop all of it, if he would kill her. When asked who told him, he becomes very vague and says it was a voice, not a person.

On the interrogation Kleber only questions is how Rune got the bombs, and also sends a messenger to find Malbor. The strange man mind ability would be useful on making Rune speak more, even if he's always tired from his attempts with the air elemental.

Gzizmix will spend as much time as possible with Sloane and tries to help in meditating with the Cannith maker, Gerald Stoy. While focusing on learning to be a proper navigator he still feels he can at least assist Sloane with parts of here job. Perhaps in time he will lean what is needed to help maintain Cyre.

Vice will swing by Kyzire's shop to see if his weapon is done. He won't go in or anything, the shop and it's owner still intimidate him. Vice will just loiter there a bit and see if Kyzire talks to him. He'll kill time by trying to think of clever verses for the shanty he recently learned.

Rune is rather flippant about the bombs when questioned by Kleber. "They weren’t cheap, cost me all my earnings from this cursed job. I got them from the back room of a shop here in town. Some goblin trader. They didn’t work as well as he promised, obviously."

Gzizmix does his best. The two artificers are just not capable of getting along. You do manage to break up a few fights over the three days. After one particularly heated incident, you caught a tool flung by Sloane at the back of Gerald’s head. Gerald was none the wiser and Sloane stormed off.
Gzizmix also notices a plainly dressed, dark haired elven man that appears around the streets below Cyre, a little more frequently than you’re comfortable with. By the time you can point him out to the guards, the elf is gone.

Vice hangs around the shop. Distractedly looking around, while singing to himself. Losing track of time in his revelry, he doesn’t notice a large figure loom behind him. A chakram appears from behind, inches from the gnome’s throat. A sickly green and ghostly mist drips from it and a baritone voice sings in his ear,
"A storm whipped the sailor up into the frost,
Three days in the hail, the poor sailor tossed,
Fiery breath from a dragon up high,
Knocked the poor frozen sailor, out of the sky"
Quite unlike the happy shanty, Kyzire’s voice is slow like a funeral dirge. "Your blade is finished, master Vice."
The tiefling seems to glide from behind you and the chakram floats from his hand toward you. The sickly green drops dissipate into the ether as they fall from the blade. "Well? Does it meet your satisfaction?", his red eyes wait expectantly.

Vice doesn't even try to hide how startled he is, jumping a bit away from Kyzire and the chakram. Then he looks up at the blade with wonder in his eyes, slowly reaches up, but pauses before actually grasping it. "Well, it looks wonderful, but I'll have to see it in action won't I? How do I keep its venom from affecting me? How do I activate it? Do I say 'poison attack, go' or some such incantation?"
