Ilmig Flintbeard
While picking up his armour, Kleber notices a rapier sitting on a rack. Ilmig happily sells it to him. "The lad that commissioned it, never came back for it.", he grumbles.

Bitna
On the next block, the half orc comes across a curios shop run by a nice old lady named Bitna. She is tall and slender, dressed in an ornate blue kimono. Her white hair is flows out like a massive lion’s mane, easily wider than her slender shoulders. Her voice is aged and cracked, but friendly. She walks with a cat-like grace throughout the shop and strangely, there is no sound of footsteps from her. She shows Kleber around and has the grappling hook he’s looking for. When asked about feather tokens. She brings Kleber to a small shelf with several small boxes. "Finicky objects, aren’t they? It takes a bit of patience, but I’ve managed to sort some of them.", she pulls down a larger box filled with an assortment of different feathers, "These are unsorted and are twenty gold. I’ll let you know what they are once paid, or…", she gestures to the remaining boxes, "These ones are sorted and cost thirty gold, if you wish to plan their use."

Kleber eyes the mount of feather and the excentric merchant, with a heavy mind and lighter pursue he decides on taking the sorted ones. He's not on the mood to gamble his coins away on magical itens boxes.
OOC:
So apparently there's two types of common magic items called Feather Tokens? The one I was referring was from the Eberron 5e book
[ +- ] From Eberron, Rising from the Last War
But honestly, reading about the Anchor token from the Roll 20 site (which I assume is the one miss anime hair is showing) is very good.too.
[ +- ] From Roll20 Anchor Feather Token
So, 5 from the Eberron one and 1 Anchor for 180Gp, please

Bitna
"Ah yes, of course. Excuse an old lady’s busy mind. Here you are."

Bitna takes out an anchor feather and hands it to you with the tokens you requested. She walks to the counter and takes your gold. "Thank you and we’ll see again soon."

The following day, Malbor departs for the capital city of Wroat. Captain Vren wishes to get a head start on the trip.

As the rest of the group is preparing to leave for Salvation, a letter is received from Bela. The parchment is completely blank and Earic hands it to Gzizmix. "I assume it’s written by a Mark of Scribe."

"Quite hard to hide a magic cart in use. We either leave it in some deserted place outside of town, or hire some actual horses to pull it, maybe even give the thing a fresh coat of paint." Kleber suggests

Perhaps there is a solution for a draft animal using some magic? I have heard of bags that can be used to summon loyal animals. If we can find one that may provide a large animal, suitable to pull a cart, or use a spell to summon a similar beast then will simply need to alter the exterior appearance and add some traces to it suggests Gzizmix.
I still have funds though a magic item like I am thinking of may be hard to find and secure with my current resources.

Earic Finnini
Earic considers Gzizmix’s idea for a moment. "Lady d’Cannith has stables. Perhaps she would lend you a pair of horses for your journey. I’ll speak with her quickly."

Earic returns a short while later with good news, "If you make your way to her stables, she is willing to help. She may even be able to provide painters for the cart."

Smith
Retrieving the elemental cart cart from its storage at the inn, Gzizmix tries to get accustomed to the controls in the streets of New Cyre. A few people dart out of the gnome’s path, but you make it to Lady d’Cannith’s manor without any major incident.

Once there, you meet with the Lady’s personal wainwright. A man who simply introduces himself as "Smith". He and his team spend the afternoon rigging the elemental cart with a tongue and poles to the existing steering. A pair of painters follow Gzizmix’s instructions colouring the cart brown, while weathering the paint to appear old.

Smith comments on the weight of the cart and brings forth four very large, black draft horses with plush black feathering on their lower legs. Each horse stands at least seven feet tall at the whithers and even to an untrained eye, they are very clever. "The Lady will be very upset if anything should happen to her favourite horses.", Smith warns. He introduces the lead horse as McCloud, followed by Lombardi, Peppy and Slippy.

"Do any of you have experience driving a team?", he asks cautiously. "Perhaps, we should send a driver with you on your journey. The Lady’s team is very intelligent, but they still need a firm hand to guide them."
Oct 11, 2023 1:33 am
"Is is anything like piloting an airship? Because I have definitely seen someone do that." Vice answers.

A driver might be a good idea. Machines and enchantments are one thing, beasts ten times my size are another.
We are grateful for your help with this.
Gzizmix eyes the horses cautiously. Though no stranger to houses he never mastered the knack of controlling more than a small pony.

"We'd appreciate a driver who can handle the steering under stress, since we're already expecting trouble." Kleber politely requests. Like Gzizmix, he gazes at the animals, unlike the gnome he's already thinking of excuses for the Lady for when something happens to the beasts.

Leon
Smith introduces you to Leon, a teamster with a mark of Handling. The horses stamp their feet in excitement as he approaches. He has a very relaxed and calm demeanour and greets each of the horses by name, before greeting you.

"A pleasure to meet you, gentlemen. The horses are looking forward to stretching their legs. It’s has been some time since they’ve been out on the plains."

He listens to your destination and need for discretion. "Disguising an elemental cart as a stagecoach is novel. We shouldn’t draw too much attention. We’ll throw some fake luggage on the roof to make it look good. But, I’ll need someone with a good shot next to me, just in case."

He outlines his plan for the journey. He explains that with the distance, size of the coach and proper care of the team, it’ll take five days to reach Vathirond. "I recommend leaving after nightfall, travel a few hours and get an early start in the morning. If that works for you, of course."

Not much with a bow but I have a few decent spells. I've been larning to drive the elemental and watching you handle it with the beasts might be helpfull. You bean an actall prophesional and all.
As fo the time table, seems good to me.
Oct 13, 2023 5:04 pm
Vice exuberantly hops in the cab. "Well, what are we waiting for?"
Oct 14, 2023 5:31 am
As dusk turns twilight, you meet Leon back at the Lady’s stable. Your cart is barely recognizable with all the new rigging and paint. The four horses are hitched up and eager to leave.

Earic arrives to see you off, "I’ve sent word to Captain Vren, informing him the change in plans. I’ve asked that they have Malbor meet you in six days time in Vathirond.", with that he bids you a safe journey and passes on a farewell from Cyre.

You load up and Leon has Kleber join him up too. He seems to have a connection with the horses and they respond with the faintest of input on the reins. The horses somehow even manage to soften their hoof falls as you make your way through the streets. Soon enough, you exit the city’s gates and leave New Cyre behind you.

Under the pale grey moonlight of Therendor, Leon finds a safe location to set up camp. The first three days of travel take you across the Breland plains. Unlike the mad dash of Core on the way to New Cyre or the frantic flight aboard an airship, the first leg is relaxed. You pass small villages and sprawling farms. Fields of wheat, corn and barley. Fragrant fields of flowers. Birds chirping in the air. At on point, you notice the faint shape of a blue dragon, soaring above rolling hills in the distance to the east.

As noon on the third day of travel approaches, you reach the junction city of Starilaskur and you’re reminded of the spies and assassins you encountered there. Leon asks if you wish to stop in town, or continue on the journey.
Oct 19, 2023 6:58 pm
Kleber shakes his head at the driver.
"Didn't have a good time last time we were there. Let's go past it."
Remembering the close calls with thieves, he makes a mental note to take extra care on his turn during the night watch, given their proximity to the city.
Oct 20, 2023 5:29 am
Leon nods and leads the team on a side road around the city of Starilaskur.

Keeping a decent pace without tiring the horses, the coachman discreetly avoids towns and villages on the trip to Vathirond. Little farms and hamlets dot the road that parallels the lightning rail. Having travelled to Salvation on the rail yourself, you recognize the routine train that makes its way twice to Salvation and twice returning to Starilaskur. One in the morning and once in the late afternoon.

"Your little lightning cart here uses the same concept, I suppose.", Leon says, shaking his head as the train sizzles past. "Such constructs, they take away our connection with the natural world, right gentlemen?"

This last part he says to the team of horses, who all snort and nicker in response. "Ha ha! Nice one, Slippy.", Leon chuckles to himself. "He’s such a kidder.", he says nudging Kleber.

As the evening of the sixth day approaches, you reach the outskirts of Vathirond. Leon slows your disguised carriage, "I know a friendly stable nearby. They will keep the cart and the Lady’s team safe. I can bring you into town if you wish and return here. Or perhaps you would prefer to walk into town on your own?
Oct 20, 2023 2:28 pm
Vice replies; "It might be good to stretch our legs a bit. And your boys here have earned a rest, don't ya think Slippy?" and frowns when the horse doesn't respond. "Hmm, must be my accent"
Oct 21, 2023 12:31 am
"Some folk back at home think that way. But is harnessing an elemental to pull the rails any different from our cart and horses? I don't see people calling carriages unnatural." Kleber ponders aloud.

"I think the beast need some rest too."
