OOC:
Figured we'd grab the locked box on the way out.
"Easy, Earic," 37 says, trying to calm him. "Belalur sent us to find you and get you home."
Feb 19, 2023 2:21 am
"Wait, you’re not with them? Oh, thank the Host!", he sighs heavily, trying to compose himself. "I don’t know how, but they were looking for the same thing I am. What happened to them?"
Feb 19, 2023 2:45 am
37 glances out the flap to the tent. "I don't think they'll be bothering anyone again," he says quietly, not expanding on the thought. Adopting a more upbeat tone, he continues, "What is it you're looking for, anyway?"

"Ah, I see…", Earic says knowingly. "Well, if Belaluur trusts you… and you did save my life…

He reaches into a hidden pocket on his coat, far further than you think he should be able. He pulls out his journal and a long, broken piece of wood. He lets go of the wood and it floats in the air. "I think I’ve found the wreck of the airship Cyre ir’Wynern!"

He pauses to flip through his journal distractedly, "Or at least, a good idea of where it is… Is there someone else outside?"

There is a team of us Gzizmix informs Earic. We are all recently new to this area, though some of us do have history here
He points on the airship Cyre ir’Wynern!

Gzizmix easily recalls that the Cyre il’Wynern was the flagship of the nation of Cyre. The largest elemental warship ever built, it was believed destroyed in the Mourning. You also know that it was heavily armed and equipped with the latest in Cyre’s elemental technology and likely held a large store of weapons and possibly gold. The significance of the floating wood is evidence of soarwood. Magical weightless wood used in the construction of all elemental airships.

As the last of the twilight fades, Earic pulls out from his hidden pocket a small white figure that begins to glow gently. Its light fills most of the tent. "Yes, many do…" he says to Gzizmix without looking up from his reading. He finally turns his book to the gnome and warforged, showing a collection of scattered notes and a partial map.

"I found evidence it was preparing to support an attack Arythawn Keep on the Day of Mourning. A salvager found it’s flag among the fields, confirming it was there! I lost the flag though when the warforged captured me. Turns out they are… were looking for it too. I think they were onto something. There’s soarwood debris over those cliffs and this camp’s location can’t be a coincidence."

He looks around the tent to the now empty table. "Malleator had a more detailed map here…"

"It seems we won't be leaving as quickly as I assumed," 37 observes. Pulling the map out, he hands it to Earic. "I had figured we could all go over this in safety when we got back, but... the plan may be changing as we speak."

Core who has changed back to his unsual self, " I think there is more coin in checking this all out."

"Yes! Brilliant!", he snatches the map from 37 and lays it on the table, he compares his notes and the map and begins writing on it. As he does so, he adds to 37’s comment on making a plan.
"I wouldn’t recommend travel through the Mournland at night, but the warforged may have something that can help us travel in the morning. They tucked it under that canopy out there."

He finishes his work on the map and gestures to it on the table.

"Getting up those cliffs is the toughest part, but the warforged seem to be aware of a road that goes up there."

Earic looks to Core as he enters the tent. "I feel like everyone knows my name. What’s your names? And how many are you?"

Core responds "I'm Core" and introduces everyone one else by name.

While the team talks with Nicorath in the tent Kleber starts to loot the camp, after making a pile of metal in his arms he enters as soon as Core names him.
"that's me" he placed the swords, shields, bolts, etc on the floor, then took the health potions out of a pocket and also left them on the floor. "I heard something about airships and money. Besides you, the Goblin lady from the junkyard and those warforged "blades", does anyone else know about this?"

Mordaky walked over to Malbor, "Do you need help pal? You were laying down some serious coin in that previous hand." he offered Malbor his hand to help him up off the ground.

Looking over the map he mutters I should have bought some Cartographer's tools before asking Eric Is the red line the Mournland border? Why is the lake only on one side of the red line? Are the grey lines old roads. How far to Easton? What are the red dotted lines?

"Its a pleasure meeting all of you. Let me thank you for saving me, as I have 37 and Gzizmix. And yes, all very good questions gentlemen. Hmmm…", he pauses, trying to gather his thoughts.

"Well, the map answers are fairly simple. As I’m sure you know, the mists stopped at the borders of Cyre. Everyone has a theory as to why, but none that make much sense. Only the very edges of Lake Arul are in the grey because only the eastern shores belonged to Cyre. This is true of the Brey River as well. It looks like the ‘The Blades’ have spent some time surveying the area. The red dots are certainly the remains of Cyre’s lightning rail system and you are correct my good gnome, the grey lines were the roads. They must have found some that survived. Kalazart was an important crossroads, it’s just off the map. And Eston, well, that was Cyre’s military industrial complex."

"Which only makes sense that the Blades would interested in the area. There are enough rumours about the warforged of the Mournland, that they can’t be ignored. There are whispers of a warforged leader that rose from the mists. A mighty and terrible creature. No one knows where he is, but he calls himself the Lord of Blades. ‘The Blades’ are his warforged followers and they’ve recently began gathering up magical and elemental artifacts of Cyre. For what purpose, no one’s sure. It’s clearly military, but they don’t take common weapons. They’re looking for something bigger."

"As for the Cyre ir’Wynern, sadly, I can promise you, it doesn’t function. From the wreckage I have seen, it was definitely crippled somehow. But while I’m looking for its history, the Blades must be looking for its technology. They must need something from it…", Earic flips open his journal again on the table and begins leafing through its pages.

"To answer your question Kleber, no one in Salvation would know. Belaluur is very shrewd. Important finds like this are very coveted. Even Ikar believes the airship was lost in Metrol. Which means his crew is not looking anywhere near here."

37 will listen intently, but at the end he is at a bit of a loss. He will turn his attention to the locked box. Taking a few moments to focus himself, he will take his thieves' tools and set about attempting to open the box itself.
