"Well, then our options are: find the scout presumably dead within the mist, the work of the Silver Flame... and strike that bell" he starts tearing the leg of mutton and talking between great bites "That last one looks like trouble" *munch* "being too vague" *munch* "Last time I got a bounty like that the idiot tried to run away without paying me" *last chew* Kleber drops the clean bone on his plate
"It will probably end in a fight, perfect for us to learn each other's fighting skills. Which one will we choose?"

Getting in the good graces of a temple would not be a bad place to start but ringing the bell may actually be simpler, though obviously more questionable

"The last one is the safest option from an employer standpoint," 37 corrects. "The proprietor of this inn can't just run. However, if we truly don't have the gold, I'd be interested in looking for the scout. We may save a life."

Plus, I already have a working relationship with the salvage yard, this would just improve things 37 thinks to himself as he looks over the notices again.

Having found the Grey Beyond after a bit Mordaky walked in and immediately spotted several others gathered around a table, he recognized them from the train. He walked over and ordered a drink and some food, as he waited he glanced at the Job Board, then gathered his food and drink and walked over to the others gathered at the table. They were indeed talking about the jobs. "Mind if I join? I have a big sword and a bigger need for cash as I am a bit strapped. Be happy to help ring that bell or look for the missing scout"

Vice chimes in I agree, let's save a life. Maybe they'll owe us a favor, and tell us if they've scouted anything good.
Feb 1, 2023 4:37 pm
Kleber side glances at the tiefling and nods "Sure, I hope your confidence with the sword is not empty boasting, because we do need the manpower. After we fill our bellies we were planning to run after Belaluur in the Salvage Market, or do you guys want to do something beforehand?"
Feb 1, 2023 5:26 pm
I say we go as soon as we're done. After hours on that train anything but sitting sounds better and Gzizmix shifts in the not so universal seat that barely let's him see his food

You make your way down Main Street to the bustling hub of the salvage market. Here scavengers, scrappers, chancers and relic hunters of all races seek the highest price for their Cyran discoveries. Items of every shape size and purpose abound everywhere you look.

Draev Shaldor
As you enter the market, you overhear an older human man arguing with a drow over the price of several ornate swords. "If they’re worth so much more in Sigilstar, take them there yourself! My offer is final. I don’t have all day. Take it or make room for the next in line.", he says stubbornly in a scratchy, nasal voice.
Draev Shaldor is known to be the most miserly of the brokers in Salvation. He rarely pays top gold, but is known for moving difficult to sell items.

Irullan Karnach
Across from Draev, a woman with silver hair that contrasts with her young face is haggling with a tall brutish looking orc. She’s inspecting a glowing blue shortsword on her table. Her voice is is slithery, almost hypnotic as she says to the orc, "Come now, Dhakk. We both know my offer is more than fair. I have to find the right buyer and that takes time. Meanwhile, my gold is tied up."
The orc grunts and nods begrudgingly.
"Excellent! You are a wise orc, my handsome friend." Irullan is clearly a wealthy woman. Rumours of her dealings are whispered in the corners of Salvation. None of them are good. Their conversation continues as you approach the last broker.

Belaluur
A shrewd looking goblin woman with a missing ear is barking orders to a teenage goblin girl with goggles on her head. Her crackly voice continues as you approach, "…and make sure that bumbling oaf couriers it to the right place this time.". The younger goblin nods quickly and dashes out with a small package in hand.

Belaluur looks at your group, noticing you for the first time. "Well hello gentlemen,", she says brightly. "What brings you to my little corner of the market?"
Feb 2, 2023 5:10 pm
"Good day," begins 37. "We are here about the issue regarding a lost scout. What do we need to know?"
Feb 3, 2023 7:25 pm
"Yes, yes, of course, Earic, he’s been missing since yesterday. He never stays overnight in the Grey. The poor dear is afraid of ghosts.", she chuckles for a moment before looking around and lowering her voice, "It’s best if we discuss this in private."

She takes your group through a curtain to her back room. It’s cramped, clearly designed for diminutive folk. Once inside, Beleluur continues in a hushed, more serious voice, "I apologize, too many ears out there. Earic has a keen ability for finding important artifacts of Cyre. He’s been very successful at it these past couple of years. He said this one would be his greatest discovery yet."
She pauses for a moment, very obviously sizing up your group. "Of course, having only just met you, it would be unwise of me to share too much just yet."

She reaches into her cloak and takes out a small map, giving it you. "Earic is a half-elf. Tall, slim, pale skinned with freckles and bright red hair, bless him. He has a large mark of storm on the right side of his neck and face. He was heading to the remains of Plymdonwood. Cyre had a large army posted there and it’s now a popular place for scavenging. The trail isn’t hard to follow. It’s about half a day’s journey north into the Grey. I’ve marked on the map where Earic said he would be. If you bring him back in one piece, I’ll pay you fifty gold each. Do we have a deal?"

"More than agreeable in my eyes," 37 replies with a nod. "However... let me adress the Terrasque in the room... if he is no longer with us... obviously we will return his body and anything on his person, but is there anything else we should be looking for? You said it's a common scavenging spot... he may have ran afoul of other scavengers. They may have scavenged him. Hence, asking if there is any particular items we should be looking for."

Big Core asks, "Fifty gold coins is very agreeable to me. If we bring back knowledge of what has become of him will there still be a reward? "

"Ah, yes. I see you’re not new to the Grey and its… reputation.", she says plainly. "If the poor dear has left this plane… he kept a journal of his findings. Obviously valuable, not many know of it. I’d like to keep it it that way."

"You said Earic possess a Storm Mark, does he have any relation with the Houses?"

Belaluur smiles a toothy grin and with a glint in her sideways glance, she wags her small finger at Kleber and says slyly, "I like you, but I don’t even know your name yet. Maybe once we get to know each other a little better… besides, that’s Earic’s business."

Excuseme, I am Gzizmix Famber and am I new to the region. At there any hazards that the locals know to avoid. Is there any region or time of day or type of beast that we should be wary of?

Kleber scratches his cheek in embarrassment, he only realized now that he hadn't introduced himself to his boss and his new companions. "Name is Kleber d'Aashta ma'am, we'll do our best to get Earic or his journal back"

"The pleasure is all mine, Kleber d’Aashta.", her coy gaze lingers on Kleber as she snickers at Gzizmix.

"Oh, my dear Ziz. What dangers aren’t in the Mournland?", she finally breaks her gaze from Kleber and looks to Gzizmix. "If the spirits leave you alone, you watch for the mutants. If they don’t find you, it’s probably because the Warforged found you first. Then there’s every scavenger and treasure hunter from here to the ruins of Metrol looking to find their fortune, whether by hook or by crook… and that’s just the living creatures. The very land itself may just swallow you whole."
She shoots him a wink. "Welcome to Salvation."

Vice finnaly chimes in "Which one of those took your ear?" he asked, only half in gest. Thinking he recognized a bit of showman in the goblin.

"That, good sir, is a story for a night at the tavern."

A bell jingles on the other side of the curtain and Belaluur begins to make her way through your group.

"As long as you’re buying, Ringo. If things go well, you lot may get a lot of my coin to do just that.", she says the last bit over her shoulder to Vice as she greets a dirt covered man with what sounds like a bag full of silverware.
