I assume ammo will be refilled by the Dominion in between missions. Though, in one of of the web enhancements I found, they mentioned a portable ammo foundry (and by portable it needs a vehicle to carry around), so there's always that solution...

I am undecided. I looked through those eight or ten items in the quickstart book, which is the only thing I have, and nothing really seemed appropriate to the character. What she'd really want is a second ability, but I think that's asking too much to start. I know that some of the supplements have new items, but again I don't know what those are.

Nah, no problem, you can take a second ability if you want. You can still pretty much use one per turn anyways.

Also, if you want ideas from the main rulebook, you have grenades, both flash bang and fragmentation, EVA jetpack, shield, combat stims, laser-honed sword, shotgun, flamethrower, grenade launcher, combat lighting, electronics toolkit, evidence collection kit, PDA, etc.

Requisition Portable Ammo Foundry
Request granted!

Congratulations on your acquisition of the Acumen Portable Ammo Foundry™. Please read this user manual carefully.

The Acumen Portable Ammo Foundry™ comes with a standard array of patterns ready to forge (Foundry Reloads not included). And each reload has 100 production slots ready to use.

Pistol rounds take 1 slot each and can be manufactured in about 12 seconds (2 combat turns).
Pulse and sniper rifle rounds as well as shotgun shells take 2 slots each and can be manufactured in about 24 seconds (4 combat turns).
Additional ammunition modifications can be made, requiring one additional slot — these may not be mixed; only one modification per round.

So, our standard patterns can produce:
Standard DSF-issue pistols rounds: 100 rounds in 6 minutes.
Standard DSF-issue pulse or sniper rifle rounds: 50 in 24 minutes.
Standard DSF-issue shotgun shells: 50 in 24 minutes.

The Acumen Portable Ammo Foundry™ can even accommodate for depleted uranium core rounds or explosive rounds!

Acumen does not guarantee that weapons firing rounds with additional capabilities won't damage the weapon, but do recommend additional care and maintenance to avoid any long-term damage.

The Acumen Portable Ammo Foundry™ is not portable and must be mounted to a vehicle or table for effective use. Likewise, Foundry Reloads are not recommended for carrying on your person; vehicle transport is strongly suggested.

The rest of this manual is about maintenance, troubleshooting, how misuse of the product can cause harm and how acumen is not liable form such and such misuse of their products... BO-RING!

So now that a terrible roll is out of the way, I am sure all the other rolls during our mission will be ok:)

Ah yes - inverse - never mind then. So in this case: I'd like to requisition some explosive charges, to make sure we bring enough oomph!

Just noticed a mistake in the book. The Enviro-Suit Repair Kit is noted as being able to repair an armor back to AR 1 in order to hold its pressure. However, p.51 stipulates that it's your AP which goes down, never your AR. And that a space-worthy or environment suit at 0 AP can no longer sustain its wearer.

So yeah, the repair kit should make mention of AP and not AR.

I just realized that none of us (including me) gave a character description in our opening posts.

What the hell do you all look like?

Enzo is tall and extra skinny from having grown up in low gravity environments. If you've read the Expanse series, he's like a Belter.

He is of Hispanic ancestry, with dark tan or light brown skin and black hair. He keeps one side of his head shaved, and the other half a little longer (if DSF regulations require short hair, then it's as long as allowed; otherwise it's about eight inches long or so).

He's a bit arrogant and has a chip on his shoulder, both of which can be seen in his facial expressions and posture.

It's the first mission. Richter is "keeping his helmet on" until he's more than a walking statistic.

I'm guessing the whole shaved head thing is more for boot camp. they first shave your head when you enlist to strip you of your individuality, making it easier to mold you into good little soldiers. Once the indoctrinat... erm, I mean training is over, you're free to have whatever hair do you want, so long as it doesn't interfere with your duties of space marines...

Archer is a big man in good physical shape. He keeps a well-groomed dark beard. He has a large knowledge in his field but lacks some of the practical skills you would expect from a technician.

He is a bit of a perfectionist and pedantic person, who doesn't accept flaws and errors. He can be very direct and focused in his attitude forgetting the social niceties, which can put some people off.

I got it from the expanse series. It's a really common hairstyle for the Belters, they shave just one side of their head and do whatever they want with the rest.

Richter is just a floating helmet. No body.
