Session 2: Soul of Winter

"Bah! People always talk about the weather" Fizel cuts with contempt "It's the North, it's cold. Nothing we mortals can do about that" He pauses to take a spoon of Waterdeep's finest "Winter or no Winter. I'm going North, the land of opportunity them call it".

He finishes his portion mostly in silence. Once done, he looks around the messdeck "Have you guys seen Captain Harkin? He should have come around to check the crew by now no?"

Fizel looks at Agna surprised "Well, you need to know who you need to know to get ahead hein?" he smiles as he points at the still partially filled bowl in from of the orc. "You've been too busy fighting the cook to notice the captain comes down after his meal to check the crew?"

Fizel looks around for a moment "Maybe..." he agrees with Izuhn. "The winds are getting colder. Well, if you guys are staying up north for long, I can definitely watch your backs." he finally agrees to join the others before standing up. "Well I'm finished here. If all you're worried is about the bad weather, then I'll stretch my legs for a while and then call it a day."

Fizel ignores Izuhn's warning about the weather, though it is clear that it was mostly to sound though, as his expression gave away some sort of understanding that "here" isn't called the Frozenfar for no reason. Curious by Fizel's remark on the captain's routine and worried by the bad omens in the stars, you make it to the deck once Agna managed to eat all she could tolerate. As you leave, Agna notices the cook eyeing her attentively.

Up on the main deck, you are welcomed by the freezing winds of the night. The temperature is palpably dropping as you move north.

"Well then, lets see what business the captain has by the crow's nest". Fizel manages to articulate after mumbling something inaudible in response to Agna. He stops to look at Izuhn. "Another one of your omens? Anything more specific than is going to be cold?" he asks, unwilling to believe any of the so called "signs"

You are walking towards the captain while discussing the omens, when you notice the captain looking far into the night, guided by one of the crew members who is pointing somewhere in the endless sea.

Agna is briefly confused as Izuhn mentions "the ship". Could there be a problem with the Icebreaker the dwarf was aware of? She quickly starts looking for clues out in the night, trying to figure out where the captain is looking. Though in the cloudy night it she can't see far, she hears the captain mention a ship ahead and after a while manages catch a glimpse of a shadowy silhouette in the dark.

"Ah Izuhn, you found your way back to us" the captain says as she notices you approach, quickly extending the greeting to Agna. "It seems that the ship you spotted earlier is not flying any banners. With the early winter, no ship has left north from Luskan and none is expected to return..." she looks at the nightwatchman. "Though it could have been one that was expected to have returned..."
