Icebreaker
He makes particular fast friends with the night watchman. He spends hours each night in the crows nest with him. Most moves by slowly and silently, but during particularly cloudy moments or moments of clear seas, the two discuss their mutual love for the open air and their respect for the fury of nature.
As the trip rolls on, the lines on Izuhn's face seem to deepen and one evening before dinner he discreetly speaks with each of his original two companions. "I need to speak with you all after dinner. Things have taken a turn."
Icebreaker
Agna struggled the most, being used to the far more stable footing of the mountains. Altough she quickly found that the sea rations are little more than boiled potatoes and egg, old beer and biscuits far too hard to eat, something that was even worse than the sea itself for the orc. The half-elf cook excused himself with the deadly cold, which prevented them from taking more than a couple of poultry, and the lack of proper vegetables in the cold north. The fight between the two grew almost to mutiny level, but the crew mostly enjoyed the resulting improvements to the food, so no one did much about it, simply hoping both would survive the trip.
Izuhn, on the other hand, even though a dwarf, surprised everyone by feeling the most at home. He could be spotted out on the deck every cloudless night or even volunteering to watch duty up in the crow's nest, having not trouble mixing with the crew. If you didn't know better, it would almost seem that the dwarf was in an elven trance as he marveled at the endless moonlit sky. The strange feeling of being called north grew strong with each night, as if his return was promised in the stars.

As usual, dinner is served around sunset, the now familiar ringing of the kitchen bell calling the crew when it is ready. Those not on duty make their way to the messdeck where you find the cook holding the small bell and anxiously looking at Agna, waiting to see her reaction.
What she receives in her hands looks like a bowl of steaming black mud. Agna narrows her eyes at the cook, who only bangs his ladle against the pot and shoos her away. At the dining table, she tests the goop's consistency with a stir before letting the spoon drop back into the bowl.

Cap'n Harkin
"Ah Izuhn, you found your way back to us" the captain says as she notices you approach, quickly extending the greeting to Agna. "It seems that the ship you spotted earlier is not flying any banners. With the early winter, no ship has left north from Luskan and none is expected to return..." she looks at the nightwatchman. "Though it could have been one that was expected to have returned..."
"Last night I spotted another ship out in front of us slowly closing in. I thought nothing of it but the other watchmen seemed quite unsettled by it." Izhun adds to Agna as a quieter aside.

The Soul of Winter
Whatever hit the ship was strong enough to carry off the masts, sails, and rigging. Its figurehead, once a majestic angel in flight, has be hacked and disfigured into a deformed horror. The vessel list noticeable to port, evidence that the stabilizing ballast has shifted, thought the incline doesn't appear severe enough to make moving on the deck hazardous. The ship rides-low in the water, implying that the bilge and possibly the lowest deck are flooded. It looks like the Soul of the Winter might sink during the next tenday or so.
Cap'n Harkin
Having heard Izuhn's comment she smiles and adds. "If you'd like the full experience, be my guest."
The Soul of Winter
It becomes clear to you that motivation is interpreted in a different way on the high seas as the captain is pleased with your answer, despite your lack of conviction. In no time, the sailors bring you ropes and grappling hooks and show you one of the ferries for you to board.
Once it is all ready, you are lowered to the sea and taken to the derelict. The sailors rowing stop to check for ways in and notice that there are no portholes or any other large opening. They point up and let you know that you will have to scale the algae-slick hull to the main deck of the quarter deck.

The loud creaking of the weathered door dwarfs all other sounds, anticipating a rough stone altar, the center piece inside the cabin. Strange markings cover the altar, mud cakes the floor around it and humanoid skulls mounted on wooden spikes ring the wall above.
The corners of this room are piled with garbage and debris, crudely cut wooden logs, smashed furniture, torn sacks, shattered crates, and small piles of dried seaweed. As you step inside, you notice the staircase that descends from the southeast corner, and an acrid odor that fills the air.

@RAAMtentacles the need for help was well spotted, but testlum is right. We can completely redo the action if you want to try something else.
You can always roll to help with the multiple helper's rules, where you also roll yourself (adding another -1 penalty from 1 helper). If you do that, I can even have Fizel join and help, but that requires a roll with a -2 penalty from 2 helpers.

Fizel Axebreaker
As Agna struggles to breath from the surprisingly strong grasp of the hand, the scratching sound of the fish creature's claws hitting Izuhn armour's metal strips echoes trhough the room. After a quick exchange of blows, the dwarf manages to pierce the creature, it's scales unable to provide enough protection from the sharp spear.
Fizel quickly moves inside the room and grabs the remaining hand from Agna's neck, crushing it under his foot. As the room falls quiet, you look around, checking for any other hidden threats.
As they're moving back, something terrible dawns on Izuhn. "Could the splash into the water have been one of those terrible creatures?"
Cap'n Harkin
"It looks like we have unexpected guests" The captain says as she notices you. Pulling her sword from the dead creature and immediately cleaning the blood like liquid from it. "The ship's not doing well. Will probably sink before we make to port. These timbers saw more than a simple storm. Some of the marks are from something else... something big." The surviving sailors quickly drag the wounded and lean them on the side of the ship, calling out the smaller rowboats for help.
"What cargo were they carrying? Any idea what may be in the hold? If we're going to scuttle the ship then we may want that first."
Cap'n Harkin
"In these waters? Has to be a merchant ship", she is quick to tell the dwarf. "Very few come this far north if not to try their luck selling the scrimshaw crafts, copper and silver and... some of them fine Battlehammer's weapons". She stops to look at Izuhn for moment, probably considering if he might be related to the dwarven clan.
Slowly, a greedy smile starts to show on her face. "I heard them dwarves have found some interesting new materials to play with. If true, coin will be flowing north once this winder is done." All the while she is waving her men to start removing the grate blocking the way to the lower deck
"Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to have a look. I don't think anything mundane is worth the danger of staying though."
Cap'n Harkin
You both notice that Fizel has not made his way to the main deck yet.
She turns and calls out his name. "Fizel! Where be ye?"

As the sailor grabs the edge of the broken grate, Captain Harkin turns towards one of the corridors, stabbing the wooden wall in one swift movement. "Looks like we've got company." In the middle of the carved circle, you see a unattractive priestess-looking woman flipping pages of a damaged book. She turns to you as you enter. "Blessed be Umberlee for guiding you here" she says, resting her eyes on Agna for a little too long, giving the orc a strange feeling of uneasiness.

Thing in the bowl
As he turns to join the others, he notices a strange snake like shape lifting itself out of the water in a bowl behind Agna. The orc is too distracted wrenching an iron bracket loose from the wall to notice it sneak up on her before the thing tries to encircle the orc.
Krell starts laughing maniacally as the two scaly creatures finally emerge from the hanging bundles and surround the sailor who is still standing. "Winter girl! You will be the perfect sacrifice for the Wavemother".

The original ruleset did impose a penalty for rushing things, so you could do as many action as you wanted (similar to casting higher power spells), but I don't think that's specified for this game.
Sea spawn
"What are you doing?" the woman screams, surprised at the strange turn of events, attacking the strangely agile humanoid, who manages to escape into the next room.
Cap'n Harkin,
As if following her words, a strange silence falls on the ship. The scuttling of uncountable tiny crabs echoes through the humid rooms of the damaged ship, as the little creatures hide from something unseen. Suddenly, the ship shakes and tilts so violently, that you struggle to stay on your feet.

Once everyone is safe, the dwarf turns to follow, but gets stuck in the web of seaweed. Even as Vokarr cuts down one of the undead creatures, another one manages to make it close enough to Izuhn. Just as the dwarf desperately struggles to escape the seaweed trap and avoid the claws of the sickening creature, something more horrible reveals itself...
The source of the ship's instability becomes clear as a giant tentacle thrashes through the wooden walls of the ship, crushing the undead creature in an instant.
"Give him to me!" Captain Harkin shouts from the top of the ladder, pointing at the wounded sailor Agna just saved, before disappearing, thrown away like a doll, as the ship is thrashed again.
I'm going to need some other roll (anything you thing is fitting, but you can default to reaction). You are now back to the corridor with the ladder going up and a hole on the floor. If you fail, you fall on it to the bottom deck!!!

"Here, hold my hand" Fizel shows up next to Izuhn, dripping from his beard. As the dwarf helps Agna get out the narrow corridor, even though not familiar with the orc's magic, Izuhn divines the missing part of ritual and infuses the circle with enough magic to activate it. The creatures shriek as the protective magic burns their rotten skin, forcing them away and deeper into the dark flooded corridors.
As the three of you manage to catch your breath, you look around the slippery main deck. A few of the scaly creatures are still running away from the bottom deck, sliding into freezing cold waters as the ship slowly starts to turn over. You notice captain Harkin helping the remaining sailor to climb away from the sinking side. "Starboard everyone. The rowboats should be almost here for us!" She shouts at everyone to move "up" the tilted deck.
I'm going to up the stakes here. Failure (slipping) will throw you into the water, critical success (raise the roll for two successes) will safe everyone.

Izuhn is silent in contemplation on their way back to their original ship.
Icebreaker
A bit disappointed they didn't manage to recover much of value from the old ship, she claims all of it to pay for the ship maintenance and crew costs. There two items catch your interest: a ruined book Fizel found in the cabin where the altar was and the treasure chest the captain found when she conveniently disappeared from the fight.
"And Vokarr is Vokarr. There's better stories to tell. Like you for one. What're you doing on this boat, yer own self?"
"As for me, I'm here for a job. I'm supposed to be escorting what we're carrying on the ship here. You were there when Fizel and I signed the contract too remember?" Izuhn sighs and looks off into the northern sky. "Ah, that's just a job though. The real truth is that the Dale has been calling me home for some time now and I've finally got a chance to answer."
Icebreaker
Rumors quickly spread. Some say she was wounded valiantly fighting off a giant beast, others claim she is trying to open a magic chest to keep it the treasure for herself. Some go as far as believing the treasure was cursed and she fell prey to some type of sorcery.
Shuddering at the thought, Izuhn waits past his watch to have time to consult the stars again. He's hoping to get a better glimpse of what lies ahead and hopes against hope that the doom he forsaw was fulfilled on the ship.
