Nara: Is Nara making a double move to f9?
Apr 6, 2023 6:27 pm
OOC:
Yeah, with cunning action to sprint I guess he actually can make it there and still attack. The boar is prone, thereby granting advantage.
When Nara reaches the big boar, he thrusts his blade into its flank.

Rolls

Attack (Rapier) - (2d20h1+6)

(178) + 6 = 23

Damage (Piercing) - (1d8+3d6+5)

(8) + (532) + 5 = 23

Feeling the big animal buck under his weight Jeurgen adjusts for leverage pushing the squealing boar back down. "WHERE DO YOU THINK YOUR GOING?, YOU WANT THE HAND? THIS WHAT YOU WANT?" Raising his hand for the Boar to see, the savage dwarf continues to punish the defiant animal.

Jeurgen first punch knocks the Big Boar silly, but it seems to recover instantly, and his second punch doesn't take it down.

Big Boar fails to break the grapple and is still prone.

1d20+10 : (1) + 10 = 11

Joran moves 10 ft. to the north to bring the final boar into his line of sight and lets fly a fire bolt at it.
OOC:
Not sure if I'm at disadvantage for it being prone and firing ranged at it? little fuzzy on 5th rules still.

Rolls

Fire Bolt Attack - (1d20+7)

(16) + 7 = 23

Battle is over as the Big Boar collapses and dies from Joran's fire bolt. What the party to do with all that pork?
Apr 9, 2023 12:02 am
"Well, I suppose we should roast ourselves a good bit of this eh? Salt the side pork perhaps? Nothing better than smoked pork!"
Apr 9, 2023 12:27 am
"Certainly never hurts to add to the rations that we currently have and will make a good hardy meal for tonight." Roland says as he joins the others around the biggest of the fallen beasts.

"Let's just do it quickly so we can keep moving. Still a lot of ground to cover."

Roland will join in any of the butchering that takes place and offer healing to anyone that may need it.

The once smiling barbarian now stone faced looks at the limp corpse of the boar before picking up his grounded axe. A flash of cold murder can be seen in the dwarfs’ eyes as he brushes past The "Giant" on the way back to the camp. His axe across his shoulder he holds up a single finger.

"That’s 1…Don’t make it 2…If I wanted it dead I would have used my axe."

Irwin is still interested in why boars would attack an armed group moves in to inspect the carcass of the giant one. As he moves in he takes note of Hammerhand’s mood, locking away that he needs to speak more in-depth with the Dwarf one of these evenings.

As the butchering is done Irwin examines the boars for anything strange or out of place.

Rolls

Investigation check - (1d20-1)

(8) - 1 = 7

Nature check - (1d20+2)

(18) + 2 = 20

Nature check.

Bodies of the boars appear normal. Best guess would say the big boar fight wasn't accidental. It had the look of an ambush.
Apr 9, 2023 9:55 pm
Is the plan to spend some time and roast some of the boar or spend lots of time and make some into boar rations or just do something else?

Roland +3 (15)
Jeurgen +0 (18)
Nara +4 (9)
Irwin +6 (22)
Joran -1 (8)

Roland, Jeurgen and Irwin all spot boar track that lead to the fight clearing. Irwin is fairly sure they moved in place here as a pack.

Rolls

Perception check - (5d20)

(12185169) = 60

OOC:

Oh what time of day is it and how far have we come?
Apr 10, 2023 3:10 am
"Attack is right lunch time but at least the weather is good." This is on day 1. You have travel for a few hours and have most of the day left.
Apr 10, 2023 7:50 am
Irwin is keenly examining the tracks when he turns to the group, "While the meat is cooking, who would be keen to help me track these prints?"
Apr 10, 2023 1:49 pm
"Whats the point?" Says the barbarian throwing a chunk into his sack, "I think you killed em all. Better just to take what you can carry an move along. This is a waste of time."
Apr 10, 2023 6:14 pm
"Some reason you wanted them alive?" Roland asks, genuinely curious about what Jeurgen was trying to do.

The cleric will also cut a hunk of meat and throw it in the sack.

"I agree. We should get moving. While this is an odd situation, let's just write it off as that. If it happens again, then we can look a little closer."
Apr 10, 2023 6:58 pm
Jeurgen tosses a thumb over his shoulder and strides forward, he growls with disdain, "If ye don't see the waste in this, then by all means, have yer fill...leave no trace of yer thoughtless destruction." And with that, he continues on his path.

"All this blood is only gonna attract wolves, or maybe worse," Jeurgen yells back. "Best you be leavin it to them and do your cookin downwind a bit."

"We should cook a quick lunch, pack what we can to smoke when we make camp tonight. We'll want to make the time we need to not extend our journey by days, but wasting food does seem wrong."
Apr 11, 2023 4:06 am
Irwin understands the Dwarf’s point on killing the animals, but he still looks longingly at the tracks which lead them to this point. "Saying this is unusual behaviour doesn’t explain the intelligence shown to set an ambush, and if this was a set ambush probably means their home is not far. Doesn’t their behaviour spark an interest to seek more?"

He asks the question and waits a moment, if everyone else moves on he will shrug before slicing his own chuck of meat and following.
Apr 11, 2023 1:44 pm
Nara will bag a hefty chunk of meat and return to his scouting duties.
