The map is the best I could do with my limited photoshop skills, but I imagine this jungle as very dense. That said I think Admiral could cut a path through trees and vines in the canopy that makes a way to the boggle. He is used to moving around ship rigging after all. He’ll have to make athletics or acrobatics checks. (I can’t look at his sheet right now but if he has a bonus regarding dexterity based rolls on the ship we can let them apply here) With his exhaustion he’ll have disadvantage.
Regarding his alternate plan, the large group of hounds doesn’t look like it is head directly towards Admiral’s current location. They are heading to their right toward the slab and Admiral is/was moving "southwest" away from their destination. So unless Admiral rolls Stealth (possibly rolled with disadvantage depending on Khyree’s attempt at distraction) very horribly they will not notice him. Plus Khyree is trying to make a spectacle of herself to draw their attention.
