Khyree sits down as well and takes a rest from the day's rigors of travel and conflict.

Your rest is well needed after the long trek through this treacherous jungle to this stone circle. You also spend time meditating to reconnect with the Ki force of the Dragon. Current HP: 24, Temp HP: 0, KI: 3

When you wake early in the morning, your master hands you some dried meat. "We should get started," he says. "We have reminded the Dragon force of the existence of this power circle and bid it to protect us here, but we will need to focus all our Ki to persuade it to fully awaken all three places of power. This may take a while."
After you both finish eating, Grekkor sits cross-legged in the center of the circle and bids you to join. You do, closing your eyes, you can once again feel the force surging in you and resume your attempt of persuasion. Your energy focusses on the location of the other circles. Yet again, the stones begin to hum faintly and then glow. The hum grows in volume and intensity until, this time, you feel as if you are lifted from the clearing and have become one with the Dragon; you see through its eyes, feel the wind on your body as you soar high above the jungle, and you know the way to the other circles.
Through the eyes of the Dragon you dive through valleys and soar above green mountains. The flight brings your consciousnesses to the two other power circle locations. First to an area surrounded by waterfalls were the stones sit on the limb of an ancient tree.
Then to a pristine, placid pool hidden in a deep valley.
After an amount of time unknown to you in your haze, you awake from your trance, completely drained, but with the knowledge of the circles' locations securely in you mind.

Khyree is mentally drained and doesn't get up from her spot on the ground, inside the circle.

OOC:
Over the course of her time with him, Grekkor has related to Khyree about his jungle experiences as well what he has learned from natives. Khyree has had these adventures on the Jungle Coast with Grekkor:
1. She's explored the Lands of Grippli, which is made up of Froglin peoples who are mostly peaceful traders and who have the most contact with the trade routes of the northern kingdoms.
2. She's explored the Oltec Ruins near Lake Ilarm.
3. She's avoided, lizardmen tribes, the serpentine peoples, and the medusea while searching The Far Mountains.
From her recent out-of-body experience with the Dragon force, Khyree will know a bit about the layout of this jungle.
Khyree may ask Grekkor to elaborate on anything he has experienced or learned.
You may also ask me to elaborate on something on the map based on what Khyree may know about it.
On the map, C1 is the Stone Circle Khyree is currently in. C2 is the one on the ancient tree limb. And C3 is the one in the hidden valley pool.

OOC:
Khyree will assume that both she and Grekkor experienced the same visions, as they were linked together in the circle and focusing their Ki."To which of the two remaining circles first, Master? The tree to the north or the south to the hidden pool? The tree seemed closer, but I defer to your greater knowledge of these lands."
May 10, 2023 3:05 am
OOC:
Yes Grekkor and Khyree had the same visions."The force of the Dragon runs strong through you. You have learned quickly. I will not always be around to defer to. I am old Khyree. You must be the one to finish the search for any of the Dragon who still exist on this plane. It is you, not I, who will be the reunitor." He asserts, then pauses before continuing.
"North to the tree first…Yes. It is closer. You are right. Between us and the tree is jungle inhabited by fierce centaurs, proud wemics, and cunning zebrataurs who fight for dominance. Beyond that are clans of mistrustful Gnomes who stayed behind in the jungle when their kin, millennia ago, built an earthshaker and migrated from the jungle south to the Vulture Peninsula. All are distrustful of outsiders. Beyond the Gnomes it is said that a great curse rests on the jungle that prevents souls from leaving the decaying bodies of once living flesh."
May 10, 2023 9:53 pm
"I do not underestimate, Master." Khyree interjects. "I simply defer to your countless years of wisdom and experience. To do otherwise would be a lapse of sense."
"To the tree then." She says and is off.
"To the tree then." She says and is off.

Many days pass as you travel north through dense jungle, finding shelter in caves, on wide tree limbs, and on cliff ledges protected from hungry raptor and jungle dog packs. Luckily your encounters have been mostly benign. Giant frogs, large constrictors, and long limbed sloths often sleepily ignore your careful haul through the thick vegetation. At times heavy rainfall makes it impossible to see even inches in front of you.
This afternoon heavy rainfall comes once again. You and Grekkor are about to pass into a small clearing when a faint sound of battle over the roar of rain brings you both to a halt. The rain makes it hard to pinpoint the sound’s direction.

Khyree stops and listens more carefully. For much of the long slog through the rainy jungle the only thing she has really heard is the pounding of her heart in her head and the sound of her own breath in her ears.
May 19, 2023 2:03 pm
You strain to make out the sound, over the pounding of your heart in your head and the rain.

You still can't determine from which direction the sounds originate or exactly how far away it is. All you can determine is that it's near enough to be heard through the din of rainfall and that the faint sounds of metal clashing and booming voices suggests a larger conflict as opposed to a small scuffle.
OOC:
Oops that (2d20L1+2) roll that yeilded a 11 was supposed to be labeled as Grekkor, not Khyree. May 19, 2023 8:34 pm
Glancing to her master, Khyree grips her quarterstaff tighter and slowly moves forward with caution, using the foliage to hide her presence.
May 20, 2023 6:30 am
You move forward keeping cover in the foliage as much as possible. Grekkor moves right behind you. As you move around the clearing to the other side of it the sound of battle becomes more distinguishable over the rainfall. It's definitely large forces clashing. You come spot to where the elevation drops and crouch behind a large moss cover rock. From the spot you are able to look down into a ravine where a full scale war is occurring between a cohort of centaurs and a small army of red-turbaned humans. The fighting is fierce and about 50' below you.

As you carefully observe the battle below, you suddenly hear a voice from behind you accompanied by the sound of many galloping hooves. It sternly calls out something. You don't understand the language it speaks, but the voice is strong and commanding. When you turn, you see a centaur commander emerge through the trees and undergrowth. He seems to be telling the rest of his force to stop and alerts them of your presence. The rest of his squad may be ten or more centaurs.
OOC:
Please roll for initiate. You are rolling for both Khyree and Grekkor and can use Grekkor's +4 initiative bonus. I am rolling for the centaurs. Rolls

At the order of the centaur commander, a force of 11 centaur soldiers emerge from the underwood and ground cover, nearly surrounding you in a semi-circle formation. They raise bows and aim arrows at you and Grekkor. Two of them, on the right end of their line, ready a large net.
The commander says with a booming voice in heavily accented Common, "Human, Dragonman...why here? You humans' spies?"
You and Grekkor are currently facing the centaur commander and his soldiers.

OOC:
Directly behind Khyree and Grekkor is the cover they crouched behind to witness the battle below (see picture). In front of them is the centaur force. Behind the centaurs is jungle forest-line they emerged from. It may be possible to disengage to the left between a narrow pass between the centaurs and the jungle ridge. The ridge drops down to the ongoing battle about 50' below. To the right, the pass between the centaurs and the ridge is a bit wider, but that is also the side where two centaurs are preparing the net, so disengaing would involve passing by the net. (They wouldn't be able to throw it until next round.) It would be possible to escape down the jungle ridge. The descent has lots of vegetation, roots, and vines that would make it possible to descend and stay concealed, but also would of course bring Khyree closer to the battle below.May 22, 2023 8:23 pm
"We're not spies." Khyree replies and rushes between the centaurs attempting to ready the net. "Leave us alone or you'll have more enemies than the ones you're already fighting. We have no quarrel with you. Let's leave it that way..."
