My name is Brathdyn. Well, not really, but you understand.
Back in my youth, I spent hours upon hours on play-by-post forums. Loved them, top to bottom. Only convinced myself to part ways with the hobby for life's cruel japes and judgements. I am a man full-grown now and well aware of that which has nothing to do with the quality of my character. So, here I am, eager to slam down some fat and juicy posts! I have been involved in RPGs for most of my life, online and irl, and am always happy to do creative writing.
My favorite systems are:
1. Blades in the Dark hacks
2. Apocalypse World hacks
3. 13th Age
That said, the best analogy I've ever come across that describes RPG systems is how they are car for a road trip. Doesn't matter if it is a beat up Chevy or a Hot Rod Corvette. The type of car may affect the overall comfort of the trip, especially if the air conditioning doesn't work, but the configuration and character of the car is itself part of the journey. I'm here to play, not to be picky. I'm ready to dip my toes in the shallows in an effort to slowly muster up the courage needed to cannonball back into the deep end.
Wish me luck!
