You are fine to head back if you like and get a new assignment or just wander around. Options include
1. explore :see the area map in the Tiny Info sheet (randomem encounters)
2. return for new assignment (going to a new Remnant archeology and combat)
3. return before heading to the Infinite Tower (role play and fetch quest)
4. other : choose your own adventure

Happy to RP choosing an option if that's how it's meant to be done. If not, I'm happy to defer to the others.

I've got a small preference for #3 > #1 > #2 > #4 from the options above.

This library sure is impressive. But I think we will need to head back and let them know what we encountered. That song will work as payment for a while, but they need to know the Kobolts are restless

You head back following the trail you arrived on. Making your way back to the swamp with little effort you once again begin trudging through the mire. The trail is easier to follow now that you are all experienced but that is only when it is solid. While crossing a particularly muddy section of the trail Preslynn grabs a plant stalk to pull himself free of the muck. Suddenly the mossy mound he is trying to climb raises a large dirty limb and strikes at him as it rises up into a healing figure of plants and mud with 2 large appendages and a gasping maw.

Everyone roll initiative, 1d6+1d6. If the total is above 6 you can do both actions, otherwise your character can only do 1 action this round.

That is one ugly ... plant ... muck ... thing, she thinks, making a note in her mental monster catalogue, as she reaches for sling, hoping to assist the elf.

Seen @Psybermagi's post in the chat about swapping ranged for light weapons in the chat. Sticking to sling for the time being. Does that work in such close proximity to the monster?

I am just saying you can used ranged weapons for adjacent targets. so if you are being held in place and cant back off then you can not shoot it. otherwise you can shoot anything within about 100 feet

Also, I'm not sure if everyone's supposed to roll initiative first or if we can take other actions for 6+ rolls. Anyway here goes. 6+ on the initiative so one attack because it's a sling, I *think*. Apologies if I'm jumping the gun.

Arry loads her sling all the while thinking, That big slow ugly isn't going to be too much harder to hit than the squirrels I used to terrorise ... or so I hope!

She sticks her tongue, aims for the big gaping maw and lets loose.

You are correct in your action. Everyone needs to roll initiative but once you roll, if your roll is over 6 you can go ahead and act at any time.

Arry's stone strikes a glancing blow to the creature, seeming to do no damage, as it moves its bult to strike at Tuit and continues crushing Preslyn

Remember 2 action each character, You can uses actions to Evade, Focus, and attack. Moving around is free as is talking and minor actions. See the Tiny Info sheet or Reffrence / What is TinyD6 section on combat for more information, or just ask :)

The squirrels back home were certainly a lot more ... hittable, Arry mutters to herself as she sees her stone bounce off the creature harmlessly.

She skips back and off to one side in order to get the monster nicely in her sights.

She then starts humming an old war hymn that she'd heard her ma sing.

I'm interpreting the above to imagine either an attack bonus for her companions' future rolls (or, alternatively, a disadvantage for the monster). Rolling 2d6 for the same.
