Having freed Ulrich, the ogre turns its attention to its own pest, removing it easily.

The wolf Vak once again tries to free its pack-mate, who is busy leaping at one of the mobile stirges, but its efforts do more harm than good.

If I have tracked this correctly, the only still-feeding stirges are on Gromli and Thrag.
There four stirges flying around, making fresh attacks.

The stirges are worked into a blood-crazed feeding frenzy, but without their lethal dive-bomb they struggle to penetrate the dwarves' armour.

The Great Ulfe comes to Thrag's rescue, effortlessly yanking the stirge away from the badly hurt wolf.

The wolves immediately pounce on it and Thrag furiously tears its former tormentor to pieces.

Ulrich joins Grymmal in trying to tear the creature free, his heavy breathing and whimpers audible amidst the clatter of the skirmish. But his hands slip and his eyes widen in fear as the creature nearly drains him of his lifeblood.
