Ghardak will move towards the orc, shield raised, trying not to step on the sleeping enemies.

Gyrmmal will move to the closest one. If his movement allows him to get in melee range, he will attack with his sword.

Sen loads another stone and again hurls it at the orc in the doorway.
OOC:
Does it take a turn/action to reload a sling?

Sling Attack and Damage - (1d20, 1d4)

1d20 : (15) = 15

1d4 : (3) = 3

Hold on folks, we are getting ahead of ourselves.

The combat procedure is this:

> Declare spells and melee movement (we are here)

Initiative: Each side rolls 1d6.
Winning side acts:
Monster morale
Movement
Missile attacks
Spell casting
Melee attacks
Other sides act: In initiative order.

'Melee movement' only refers to retreats and fighting withdrawals (n/a this round as no PCs are in melee yet)

It's clear now that nobody wants to cast any spells, so we can proceed to initiative
(highest roll goes first, PCs win if it's a tie)

The PCs go first, so I'll take your actions as posted.

Rolls

Initiative: PCs - (1d6)

(3) = 3

Initiative: Monster - (1d6)

(3) = 3

Only weapons marked as 'reload' in the weapon list take a turn to reload. I believe crossbows are the only one. So there's no problem attacking with a sling every round.

Ulrich and Sen Malor pelt the large orc with stones. The orc winces in pain, the distraction creating an opening for Gromli to score a deep stab in the creature's flank.

Freki, Ghardak and Grymmal close in on the orc, not quite reaching melee range.

Outnumbered and badly wounded, the orc turns and flees towards the doors, yelling desperately! In a flash it is through the doors and turns right, moving out of view.

Start of round 3

> Declare spells (for Dalomdûmir and Sen Malor)

Once any spellcasting has been delcared, we can move on to initiative and other actions.

Or, if you decide not to pursue the orc, we can drop out of combat time.
Note: there are still sleeping orc on the floor.

It doesn’t seem like we can catch him but I have a feeling he is going to be an issue

OOC:
We can at least get a couple more sling shots out if we get the initiative!

"He must be stopped." Gromli chases after the orc.

"Woof," agrees Freki as he continues chasing after the orc like the good, good boy he is.

Initiative!

Initiative: PCs - (1d6)

(1) = 1

Initiative: Monster - (1d6)

(4) = 4

The orc is out of view, but is leaving a clear blood trail and is making plenty of noise. You can hear him stomping and yelling in his flight.
Jul 6, 2023 4:23 am
Gromli follows the crimson path. "The only good orc ...," he mumbles.
Jul 6, 2023 9:05 am
"Don't let the bugger escape! He'll warn others!" Ulrich scoops up his warhammer and follows Gromli after their prey.

For reference, this is a rough map of what had been explored up until the beginning of this round.
