Thanks for the update and Happy Thanksgiving!

I’ll try to get a post up tomorrow. It’s a busy holiday weekend at my house, and the ambush has a lot of moving parts that I need to work through that I can’t really do on my phone.

No worries. I think we're all in a similar situation.

Another Handout! Everyone's already got it down, but I've created another handout just for ranged combat. ...It was a slow work day.

I only see the General Handout.

I've not been applying the coolness under fire rule correctly. Anyone that gets hit or gets shot at with a "6" on the ammo dice needs to make a successful CUF roll or become suppressed. This happens every time it happens. I've only been applying it to the first time a person gets shot at during combat.

I would like to start applying the rule moving forward as long as there aren't any objections.

Well that sucks. I'll see if I can figure it out so you can see it.

Same here, just the one handout.

How have you all handled/seen rerolls handled in other games if the wrong dice is rolled? Or better yet, how would you like me to handle that situation.

I asked ForeverDED to reroll one of his attacks in the current encounter because I think it should have had a different modifier. The first roll was a success and the second roll was a failure.

I’m second guessing the ask to reroll because I think it’s frustrating as a a player to reroll when you just rolled a success and I also don’t want it to bog things down by being too strict with the rules; there is a lot to keep track of.

I'm feeling guilty too because I wondered about the dice chain! I forgot all about the fact that the dice could simply start far apart.

That said, I'm fine with re-rolling if I've rolled the wrong die. I do it all the time as a GM, and simply ignore the prior roll and make the correct one.

That's accurate. :(

I think it is frustrating, but at the same time, it's not like rerolling is an unfair ask. I can't speak from experience with other games on this site, because usually the errors in roll adjudication in most other games don't require rerolls. For example, if you rolled 1d20+4 instead of 1d20+7, that can just be adjusted after the roll. Or if you're doing a d6 dice pool and roll 4d6 instead of 2d6, you could just drop the last two dice. Obviously, not as simple with a step die system.

@ForeverDED Sorry, I made a bad call. I'm bound to make mistakes just don't tell my kids. They don't need to know that just yet. - How would you like to proceed? I have a couple of ideas.

- The situation only effects Cunningham and the one enemy since Reed and Sheepdog are not close by. I can "rewind" and adjudicate the successful Ranged Combat.
- We can use the successful roll for his next ranged combat roll.
- We can keep things as is.

I'd like you to pick which you prefer. I'm enjoying this game with this group quite a bit, and I'd like to clear the bad "air" from the ruling if I can.
Moving forward what I'll do is keep the roll as is unless it's widely off, communicate what I think it should be, and then we can discuss making a correction which seems fair.

Using the example of what happened in the main thread. I should have said "hey I think there should have been a -1 modifier to that roll. Let's just apply it to the next combat roll." and then obviously give some time for discussion.

It is what it is. Let's just move on.

Handouts should be visible now. I'm still tweaking the one labeled "log." It doesn't appear to refresh correctly.

Updated character sheet with an area for notes and a better way of keeping track of gear for pbp.

Spiffy, but I don’t know that I have it in me to switch everything over. :)

Sweet rolls, saevikas. Smooth driving. Like it's newly minted asphalt. :D

Tedic could probably be a really sick monster truck driver in a brighter timeline.

I've shared this update across my other games. While I intend to maintain my usual level of engagement in this particular game, I believe it's important for all you to be in the know, just in case I overlook something obvious or experience delays in my responses.

This week and next will be more difficult for me to respond.

Hello everyone, with the start of the new year, my work commitments have shifted, and I find myself in a situation at home that demands more of my attention. Consequently, my posting frequency will significantly decrease. I'm currently working on concluding or adjusting several of my ongoing games to accommodate this shift in priorities.
