Unleash the pigeon-on-a-leash!

No, don't unleash it! 😱 That would ruin the whole point

Robbie, Tanya, and Emilia gather around as they work on modifying the cat harness to fit Freddie. With careful adjustments, they manage to make it fit perfectly. As soon as they put the harness on him, Freddie appears excited and eager. He takes a few short bursts of flight, hovering above them for a moment before he tugs gently against the harness. When he feels the tug, he stops flying and waits on the ground for everyone to catch up. Then, with newfound confidence, he takes off for another short flight, clearly enjoying his newfound freedom.
OOC:
I’m assuming the next plan is to follow Freddie. If so what day does this take place?

With the extra success the rules state you can get a bonus to the object. I’m not sure what that would be, but if you think of something let me know. It doesn’t need to have an additional feature.

Examples from rules:

BONUS EFFECTS:
â–  The thing is more durable than expected. Add +1 to the bonus (up to +3).
â–  The thing can do more than expected. Add +1 to the bonus (up to +3).
â–  The thing is more discreet than expected. Add +1 to the bonus (up to +3).

OOC:
I would say we're still doing this Tuesday evening around sunset.

As for the extra success, let's just make it more durable. We don't want another pigeon to come and just peck through it.

"He looks very pretty, suits him well," she says admiring Robbie's handiwork.
OOC:
I say we follow Freddie now? While he's willing to lead us...

Emilia just watches as the two work, wanting to help but also not wanting to interfere with how well they worked together.

'Do you guys have some form of light? If we are following him now it may get dark.' She wasn't worried about not being home before her Mum, the driver would just assume she was asleep in her room.

"I'll get a flashlight," Robbie says, quickly darting off before returning with a massive and very bright flashlight. "Freddie, show us where home is!"
OOC:
I'm thinking the Åströms have something like this:

Armed with their very intense looking flashlight, Freddie leads the way as evening descends. Freddie stops at there destination and says "Oh no"

They arrive on the northern part of Svartsjölandet, where a cliff overlooks Spånviken. There, they witness a remarkable sight—a gathering of a hundred pigeons. These pigeons are in the midst of constructing a massive nest, using an unusual assortment of materials—branches, pieces of metal, and even glass shards. Their constant chatter fills the air, their voices strangely metallic, and their words punctuated by chirping.

The pigeons are not alone. Groups of black-headed gulls and great cormorants circle overhead, eyeing the pigeons with predatory intent. Occasionally, they swoop down to attack unwary pigeons, pecking at them ruthlessly.

Comprehend Success
Tanya realizes that the bigger birds are attempting to assert control over the pigeons, who are valiantly working together to protect their nest and each other.

"What the heck?" Robbie whispers loudly to her friends. "Why are those bigger birds bullying the pigeons into making a nest? This is so creepy." She shortens Freddie's leash. "Stay with us, Fred. We'll protect you!"
Sep 24, 2023 7:46 am
"it's more like... The pigeons want to build their nest, but the larger birds want to dominate them. This is really weird... That's NOT what regular pigeons do, right? "

Then she addresses Freddie, "Freddie, why the big nest? Who showed you how to build it?"

do the larger birds seem to talk too?

OOC:
do the larger birds seem to talk too?
OOC:
It's too difficult to discern whether the larger birds are communicating verbally. However, due to her COMPREHEND success, Tanya can keenly observe that these larger birds are behaving in an unusually coordinated manner. They seem to work together in groups, using distractions and making coordinated attacks, at times even utilizing nearby objects.

'Is there a way we can help... Without ending up like the dog'
Sep 25, 2023 7:25 am
"They're too many... It looks dangerous."

Tanya points out to Emilia and Robbie the behaviour she noticed in the larger birds. "Look, they are well organized... In groups, and can use objects. I bet if we went close to one of those seagulls, they'd have the same stitch marks as our pigeon friends... someone's been experimenting on them too. But why??"
Sep 25, 2023 7:35 am
"I'm kind of scared," Robbie admits, moving slightly closer to Emilia. Not that the pretty popular girl is likely to be able to offer much protection. If anything, shouldn't Robbie be the protector of the group? "We should probably just leave and think about this rather than rushing into something. I really don't want to end up like the dog either. And I also don't want to put Freddie in danger."
Sep 25, 2023 7:58 am
"Agreed. It's getting dark, and there's nothing we can do. Also... none of these birds are nocturnal, right? Seagulls? Pigeons? Yet here they are, happily working at dusk... Another strange behavior."

She motions to go.
Sep 25, 2023 1:15 pm
As Tanya signals to leave, the large birds abruptly take flight, as though responding to an unheard command, and swiftly vanish over the water.
Sep 25, 2023 1:19 pm
"Did you see that?" Robbie asks, watching after the large birds. "It's like they got some command to all leave together at once. Do you think they can receive radio signals or something?"
Sep 25, 2023 3:10 pm
'Right... Of course' As the others point out the danger she looks away, telling herself they were just pigeons anyway. It was just worrying watch the larger birds antics.

As suddenly all the other birds leave she takes a step back startled, looking around. '.. Or a threat of some sort?' Though the way the took off at once didn't seem like that.

'Freddie, has this happened before? Where the big birds come and then leave?'

Freddie
Freddie gazes at Emilia, a hint of fear in his demeanor as he utters with surprising clarity, "This is a new problem. Other birds ignored home before." However, just as quickly as his apprehension surfaces, it dissipates, replaced by excitement as he exclaims, "Show you home!" He begins tugging his leash toward the colossal pigeon nest.
