I'm a bit worried about excluding B from playing so much. Maybe we should reunite again.
OOC:
Good thought. We can summarize the remainder of the day's events and jump to the next scene.

Group question: Will you take some action this evening or wait until after the next school day?
Sep 20, 2023 6:54 pm
OOC:
I figured we'd meet up again this day, maybe after dinner (and Robbie's evening chores).
Sep 20, 2023 6:58 pm
OOC:
Does Robbie call the Vet to ask some general questions or is she just getting the Vet's info?
Sep 20, 2023 6:59 pm
OOC:
Just getting the info for now, I think.

Robbie quickly gathers the contact information for the farm's veterinarian. The vet typically makes house calls when summoned by Robbie's parents. However, the vet's primary practice is located in town, making it accessible for the kids to reach by bike or on foot. Importantly, the practice keeps its doors open for a few hours after the school day concludes, ensuring convenient access for any necessary visits.
OOC:
Freddie doesn't provide any additional insights while talking with Emily. As for the details about the Vet, feel free to describe him/her as you like or I'll gladly do that when you interact with them.

Please go ahead and start the next scene whatever location you all feel is best.

OOC:
We could gather at the farm. Or back at school/by the hideout. Anyone have any thoughts?
Sep 21, 2023 6:40 am
OOC:
Makes sense if ut was agreed Tanya would meet back at the farm as Freddie here?
Sep 21, 2023 6:41 am
OOC:
it looks like the bird wants to guide us to his 'home', so we need to have the cage with us wherever we gather.
I'd say the farm, as hanging around the hideout with a caged bird is likely to attract unwanted attention to our secret entrance.
Then we'd be ready to follow the bird wherever, and we would also have on us both Gunnar's and the Vet's addresses for options.

OOC:
Is this an accurate description of the scene?
Tanya, Robbie, and Emillia are back and Robbie's farm next to the Freddie's rabbit hutch. Emilia and Robbie notice a shift in Tanya's demeanor since their last interaction. Tanya appears visibly more tense and upset, although her emotions don't seem directed at them. Tanya proceeds to share Gunnar's address and phone number with them.

In turn, Robbie takes the opportunity to inform Tanya about the vet, while Emilia shares their collective idea about finding Freddie's home.

The sun slowly descends below the horizon, stretching the shadows longer and longer. Nightfall looms on the horizon.
OOC:
The options being discussed are?
1. Having Freddie guide the group to his home. (I'm curious how that works if he's in a cage)
2. Contacting Gunnar.
3. Heading to the Vet to ask questions. (Would they have Freddie with them?)

@Dr_B sorry for leaving out of the loop yesterday. I didn't have much for Tanya to do at the current as Robbie and Emilia.

**edit**
When will the next plan take place? Will Tanya have a scene with her anchor before the next plan to clear her upset status?
Sep 21, 2023 12:59 pm
OOC:
no worries, I was quite happy following the bird conversations, but thanks all for deciding to regroup.

I think Tanya should stay Upset for a while! If at the end of the day she is still feeling it, she might go visit the Professor.

Re: current scene, if it is OK for today to be a Saturday, then I'd say they'd meet in the morning, so to have hours of daylight to investigate.
"Hej. So... bird wants to show us his home?" she asks, not managing to control the annoyance in her voice, pointing at the cage.

Then leaning in, "Freddie? How far... is... home?"

I'm ok with it if everyone else is. If everyone agrees, there are two small pieces of information I want to share about events that happened between the dog attack and Saturday morning. I would say that at least one school day happened in that time frame.

his willingness to step out of his comfort zone and contribute in a tangible way spoke volumes about his commitment to their mission.
OOC:
Today is still the same day as when we saw the dead dog at school, I think, so it would be a school day. I think a Tuesday, since the worm-incident happened on Monday. But we'd probably do any actual investigating the next day after school and right now would be more for talking to Freddie and making plans. Maybe following Freddie 'home' if we can figure out how.
"He seemed excited about the idea," Robbie confirms to Tanya's question. "But we're not sure how to do it. If we just let him fly free, he'll leave. Emilia said we could tie a string to his foot but I'm worried that will hurt him when he starts flying. And if we keep him in a cage, even a portable one, then how will he show us the way? Maybe we can ask him where to go as we're walking, but that might be too difficult for him."

OOC:
I want to point out that Emilia's iconic item is a Keychain with key ring of different locations. I was worried that opportunities to use it wouldn't come up, but I can think of a couple now.

Freddie
In response to Tanya's question, Freddie's behavior mirrors his previous responses. He pauses and stares contemplatively, as if making a genuine effort to process the question. After a brief moment, he seems to grasp a portion of it and enthusiastically exclaims, "Show you home!" He then starts to dance around, clearly excited by the idea.

"I saw these special harnesses they put on small dogs and cats, so you can attach a leash without hurting their neck... You know the ones I mean?... I wonder if we got one and adapted it a bit?..."

She looks at Freddie with a tilted head trying to imagine how she'd put a harness on him.
Sep 22, 2023 5:49 am
"I don't think they make those harnesses for birds," Robbie replies. "But that would be super cute." She thinks for a moment. "Maybe we could put some kind of tracker around his neck or foot. Then we could follow him when he flies off." She frowns at the idea, though. "But I'd still be scared we wouldn't be able to catch him again. I want to keep him! Freddie is my friend." As soon as the words are out of her mouth, she blushes and looks at Emilia. The popular girl would definitely think Robbie is weird for being friends with a bird, right?

A successful TINKER check would work. Especially since Tanya had those multiple successes the other day when comprehending the birds.
Sep 22, 2023 1:11 pm
"Then a leash is our best bet. If he takes off, we pull him back down. But he'll be able to walk, at least... and we can follow."
Sep 23, 2023 1:14 pm
OOC:
Robbie and Tanya together can modify a small cat harness using the TINKER skill. Robbie has the highest stats, so the roll would be:

Robbie TECH (3d6) + Robbie Tinker (1d6) + Tanya Helping + (1d6).

You will create a working harness for Freddie on both a success and failure. The failure will result in an unknown consequence. (Queue dramatic and mysterious music...)
Sep 23, 2023 1:21 pm
"We can use my dad's work shed," Robbie offers. "He has some tools and materials and I bet he wouldn't mind if we use some of them."
OOC:
I'm assuming everyone's okay with the plan? I'll just roll

Rolls

TECH, Tinker, Help - (3D6, 1D6, 1D6)

3D6 : (326) = 11

1D6 : (6) = 6

1D6 : (3) = 3
