"You did well, Shaggy. Thank you for your help, I knew we could count on you to assist with this mess." Koram nods and offers a friendly smile to the fey.

Those of you who choose to spend the whole night chanting and singing to the stars. Those who take part in the ritual gain access to the Spirit Speaker feat.
All of you, even if you didn't take part in the ritual gain a hero point.
Those who do take part in the ritual gains the fatigued condition the next day (should only affect first day of hexcrawl).

Iroven wanted to join but he was still not well versed in the Broken Tusk customs. He sat near the ritual site watching the singing and dancing but as his eye lids started to close down, he left and went into his tent.

A relatively wide, smooth valley stretches between towering peaks. Its walls rise up sharply further away, just at the edge of sight. While it would be impassable during winter due to snow, bursts of green, purple, and yellow flowers decorate the ground. A decrepit wooden wagon has broken down beneath an overhang of rock.
The wagon’s front axle is broken, and the entire vehicle now sags at an angle. You see no other signs of life around it.

"Someone didn't make the crossing, it seems. Maybe they chose a poor time of year." Koram and Haitith approach the wagon and begin looking it over to see who it might have belonged to...and what may have befallen them.

You find a strongbox wedged beneath the driver's seat. Pulling it out, it's obviously the lock is broken as the lid pops open as you handle it. You see inside a note written in Taldane, a superior repair kit, a scroll and a pouch with unknown content.

"Maybe we should try to learn more, to finish the delivery for them. Can anyone read this?"
Jul 31, 2024 11:19 pm
"Perhaps it is cursed and that is why they didn't take it with them?" Tomas says as he prods the pouch of unknown contents

Iroven looked at the wagon and sighed, "I hope the passengers had an easy passing and may their souls rest in peace." He eyed the contents of the strongbox, "Those are fine quality repair tools. I haven't seen such craftsmanship for a long time."

Iroven read the note, "Looks like everyone from the wagon boarded another and left. It says Lost Mammoth Valley is not far from here. Looks like the scroll is a magical one and the pouch has ember dust. But who is Weidle? Do we have a body here in the wagon?"

OOC:
You see no bodies. You can roll a Survival DC 15 to tell you how long the wagon's been here. Also a DC 20 Occultism or Nature to identify the scroll. The poach is filled with ember dust.

Iroven looked at the wagon's exterior and its broken axle while judging the wood and slight chipping at it with his finger tip. He tried to ascertain how long the wagon stayed like this in the middle of nowhere.

(4) + 6 = 10

Artesia also looks over the wagon, as well as the scroll.
Rolls
Survival (Wis) - (1d20+4)
(20) + 4 = 24
Nature (Wis) - (1d20+9)
(4) + 9 = 13

Tomas will look around and peak at the scroll.
Rolls
Survival (Wis) - (1d20+7)
(7) + 7 = 14
Nature (Wis) - (1d20+7)
(8) + 7 = 15

Artesia can tell that the wagon has been out in the elements for at least three winters.
The scroll you cannot decipher.

"This wood looks like it's been here for quite a while, at least a couple of years. I'd say by right of salvage, this stuff is ours. I can't make heads or tails out of the scroll," she admits.

Koram takes a turn looking over the scroll. "We do not have animals to pull such a wagon, or I'd wonder if repairing it could be helpful. At least this powder might provide a comfortable night of camping, when we may need it."
Unable to decipher the scroll, he shows it to Haitith. "Do you make any sense of this?" The eidolon shakes his head at the scribblings.
