After completing the difficult climb and getting shanked by one of the hunter, Iroven drew his bastard sword and put his shield away in a fluid motion. Then grabbing the sword in two hands he made a forward swing towards his attacker.
OOC:

Artesia sends two sling bullets in the enemies direction, but they bounce of the top of the edge.

Koram sends a bolt of lightning, hitting both enemies. They both are able to avoid the worst of it, but it does little to save the one that’s most hurt. He falls to the ground, lifeless.

The other grunts in pain from the cold that shoots through his body from Tomas’ spell.

He has not long to complain about it though, as before he has time to get his bearings, Iroven splits him nearly in two with a powerful slice.

"Come and face us craven scum!" you hear one of the hunters to the east yell out.
OOC:
Green and brown readies actions, so it's all your turn again.

"We need not engage them," Koram says, "They have the advantage up there, but we could pass safely beyond their reach along the south, I think. If they wish to bring the fight to us, let them...yet this could be a trap. I do not like the idea of passing over the ice. They could roll something down to break it under our feet. Or worse."
OOC:
Koram and Haitith will stride at ground level, to the south and east, though will not yet step onto the ice.
Oct 8, 2024 2:23 am

Haitih and Iroven will need to climb down or jump down. I will say that one climb check is enough to get down, as you will have gotten far enough to let go without danger.

Listening to the challenges of the other hunters, Iroven started climbing down the slope and moved towards the other side with his shield raised.

As Tomas comes into view of the last two enemies, they send two sling stones flying at him. The first one bounces harmlessly off his shield, but the other one hits him on the side of the head. (Tomas: 7 damage)

Then the rest of the party follows suit, trying to stay to the southern end of the ice.
OOC:
There’s a rocky outcropping in the way, so Artesia you can’t see the enemies to attack. Same reason they haven’t attacked you yet.

The Burning Mammoth should have -2 to attack due to the range of their slings vs Tomas. The highest roll will still be 21 and a hit.

Artesia, you can redo your action if you wish.

Oct 9, 2024 3:40 pm
Artesia carefully tries to move so as to get a better shot.
Oct 10, 2024 11:11 am
The two hunters reload their slings and flings rocks at the group. The range seems to make it too hard to hit, and the stones bounce off the ice in front of you. Then they reload their slings again.
OOC:
You all are up again. Due to the height of the ridge, for the purpose of any ranges, you need to be one step closer than the range (approximately). So 5 squares for 30 feet spells and around where Artesia is standing for 60 foot spells.

The rocks in Artesia’s hand starts glowing after her short prayer.

Haitith tries the ice, and finds the ice to be thick enough to carry his weight. He almost falls down when he first encounters the ice, though he don’t need long to find his balance. Once over, he can see a camp to the east, though there is no one there at the moment.

Iroven is able to pass sure footed closer to the Burning Mammoth hunters.
OOC:
