"Too old to be one of ours aye. Skeleton wrote a journal?" Helda asks as she picks something from her bag. "Maybe that explain why these are more important than his bloody knife" in her hand you see a dark-blue rhomboid and a pale green prism, similar to those drawn on the door.

"Don't worry lass, we be on our way to make sure everywhere is safe." she adds, pointing to the other dwarves who are now disappearing into another of the dark tunnels.

"I thought I told you lot not to go wanderin' about," Agna bellows. "Ye want somethin' to do, come help her with the puzzle here. I ain't wanting to turn up at Bryn Shander with half the size o' the caravan we started with!"
OOC:
Ooh, a rare intimidation fail. Let's see how this goes instead of raising it.

Just to check, that would have been for Nass right? Well, Agna meant it for everyone but told off Nass specifically

"Looks like the stone of Awareness and Mastery. Still missing a couple, they must be around here somewhere, anyone want to come look?"

Adaia begins to pack up her notes, and fiddles around with her pockets getting ready to leave when she touches the ring in her pocket.

"Hey Godric, did you ever find that flask of yours? Looks like that'd be the only thing keeping you warm the way you're dressed. Have you lost a ring by chance, thought I saw something in the snow outside?"

Godric quickly checks his hands seeing, sighing in relief as he sees his own ring in there. The he turns to Adaia, unable to hide the worry from his face. "You saw a ring outside? Where?" he turns very pale as he struggles to continue "Ca... cassan...dra disappeared... after, after... the avalanche. "
Dec 10, 2023 11:33 pm
OOC:
I might be a bit confused, so I'm going to try a roll to recall some information about the body, and who Cassandra is... Not sure if that'd be search or study (or something else).
Adaia quickly thinks back to the body she found, trying to picture Cassandra and see if she'd match the body she found.

"Cassandra? If this is hers then she was a long way from the Avalanche." Seeing Godric's demeanour change and turn pale "Are you feeling okay Godric?"

Adaia will try and get a read on Godric, is he concerned that he hasn't seen Cassandra or is he acting suspicious?
OOC:
It seems Adaia's enthusiasm for finding these rocks and opening the door is blinding her to the situation

Nass Lantomir
Nass looks at Agna, clearly afraid of the orc, and just mumbles that she is already helping with the puzzle. In fact, it's the dwarves who are doing most of the exploring and it doesn't look like they care much about what Agna is saying as they are already halfway gone into a different dark corner of the caves.

Cassandra's name was just made on the spot now, so you wouldn't know and, apparently, so doesn't Adaia 🤣
Godric Orchard
"I... I don't like the look of this... too much magic, I bet there's a trap somewhere here. We...we need to be careful." Godric answers Adaia's concerns. "How did the ring look like? Was it with a sapphire?" his eyes move away from Adaia as he staring into somewhere dark "If it is her, that... that would have been the family heirloom she kept from back home. I haven't seen her since the avalanche, she must have wandered off into the blizzard"
Dec 12, 2023 2:05 pm
Agna huffs as Nass cringes back, then looks over her back. "S'pose it keeps them from wanderin' off into the snow at night... Small mercy," she mutters. She considers telling Beorne to get the caravans to make a physical barricade against the cave entrance, then decides to save her breath. Like as not someone would slip out anyway, determined to find yet another early death.

She regards Adaia gloomily. "Any luck with that door o' yers?"
OOC:
Can I get a refresher on what's going on with the stones? Adaia identified which is which, a couple were taken from a dead guy but two more are still missing, and once all of them are collected they'll be slotted into the door?
Dec 13, 2023 9:47 pm
"We'll go look for her in the morning then Godric, or at least when the storm passes and we can move again. No hope at the moment, with a creature out there also. If you knew her, I am sorry."
OOC:
The sapphire doesn't remind me of any of the missing stones does it? I don't think it does from what I've deduced, but worth asking
"I think we're close. We have 11 of the 13 stones. We're just missing the stone of intellect and self-preservation. The stone of intellect is round, and a combination of blue and red, and the self-preservation stone is like a diamond, silvery and faceted. I'm going to go poke around and see if I can discover anything."

Winter
Godric look around the dark caves worryingly. He nods, agreeing that they probably should wait until whatever creature is out there gives up, tough it looks like he is more worried about himself than what might have happened to Cassandra. Decided to get the two missing stones, Adaia takes one of the narrow passageways to investigate the cave complex. As she carefully walks into the dark, the elf hears whispering and laughing. She stops to listen, but struggles to understand the words, it mostly sounding like some sort of meaningless imitation of sounds: "My. Precious. Give. Hide. Bad Visitor?"
OOC:
Looks like Adaia wants to search for the other stones. Anyone following? You can just wait out the storm as Agna was thinking.
Dec 18, 2023 7:11 am
Adaia, goes fumbling into the dark almost tripping over herself as the voice startles her. "Hello? Who is there? ... No not a bad stranger, we're just seeking shelter from a storm, my name is Adaia"

Adaia tries to hold her nerve and calm whoever is in the darkness.

The orc follows Adaia, allowing herself a moment of respite from saving the dwarves from themselves. Her mouth twists when the eerie voices speak. Agna tamps the bottom of her staff on the cave floor, ready to draw a magic circle should the need arise. For now she waits to see what effect the elf wizard's words has.

As Adaia's voice echoes through the dark tunnel, the voices stop. Everything is silent for a moment until she hears a voice almost like hers echoing back, barely audible. "not bad stranger... Adaia". There is some sort of movement and then the muffled laugh restarts, followed by some sort of tussle sounds. "The eyes. Give. Mine. "

"Eek! the bad stranger. Back. Danger staff." The strange voices echo from the dark, clearly worried about Agna's challenge. "Eyes ours. No surrender. Eyes" the voices keep repeating, until Adaia manages to calm them, one of the creatures approaches: a tiny floating head with four eye stalks which twist and turns, observing everyone simultaneously "Eyes. ours. Yous have more eyes?"
Dec 28, 2023 12:11 am
Adaia is taken back, expecting to see a humanoid who'd perhaps been lost and gone mad, but curiousity compels her to speak rather than run "Hello, I'm sorry but we don't - we don't want to take your eyes though. My name's Adaia, what's yours? We're sheltering from a storm and looking for some rocks, perhaps we can help each other?."

"My name. Adaia. My name." as the creature childishly mocks the elf, another one comes out of the shadows, with a blue and red stone in it's mouth. "Visitor has rocks? Visitor has eyes for us?"
