25… 37 sees all and knows all…

… about the dark hallway before him.
37 steps over the badly beaten bones of the fallen. He considers SheK’s words, wondering if the skeletons were inherently evil, solely because they are undead. Inspecting the scattered remains, he takes note that the remnants of the weapons and armour, seem to be piecemealed together. Some of the items, too small, others too big. They also do not appear to be from any particular nation. There are no relics among them, no gold, no valuables as one would expect of such a catacomb. As best as the warforged can tell, these were people of no consequence, clad in miscellaneous gear, then placed in their crypts and left, waiting for something.

As he walks down the hall, his shield lights an alcove to his right. This area has also caved in and destroyed a much larger obelisk than the previous two. The darkened shards of a crystal can be seen on the floor.

Directly ahead and to the right are two more crypts. Curiously, neither show signs of movement within. An idea starts to form in his head. The obelisks seem to activate those within the crypts by the group’s presence, however the range appears to be limited. Seemingly explaining why the skeletons are unable to leave the catacombs. Whether or not these people were willing participants, is uncertain.

As he nears the corner, the warforged hears the sounds of the crypts he’s seen, as well as a number of others, out of sight and around the corner, begin to stir.

Following the light of his shield and ignoring the waking undead around him, 37 finds himself in another chamber. Seven more sarcophagi begin to shift.

In the midst of the chamber is a pedestal with a book. To his right is a set of stairs that lead to a room with a very large obelisk, similar to the broken one he had seen earlier.

Further down the hall, his shield lights a locked door, with another locked door to the left. Vice would recognize the door to the left from his previous venture. The group has just enough time to take in the room, before the skeletons begin to emerge.

Those that go around the corner, will need to roll initiative.
37, you have 5 feet of movement left. Everyone else, you may use your movement as you see fit.

SheK will have followed 37 immediately to make space for others waiting to move and not jam up the works. SheK would also have replenished the Guidance on 37 if she had time.

Not sure what to do, Peldan begins moving around the corner and down the hall. As he gets to where 37 is, he tucks in behind the warforged.

(note: G22, where 37 is standing, acts as difficult terrain and consumes 10' of movement to pass through)

Note: Peldan has 300' darkvision.

With Bow in hand and at the ready, Malak follows after Peldan but stops at a point he can view everyone with a swivel of his head.

OOC:

Move Action: Moves 25' (C20 to G21)

Holds Action to be triggered if an enemy target presents itself.

Malak keeps tabs on everyone in the party.

Malak has 120' Darkvision

As everyone takes their positions, the lids to the scattered coffins begin to slide out of the way. The hallway is well guarded.
