Also, this adventure was started with four. The concept behind Ylliane was an old archer with one more mission. She's been promised a payout that would help her granddaughter never have to worry. She's not expecting to come back. So if it's alright with you guys, I'm going to leave her in. I'm not going to play her though. She'll give you advantage on scouting and wilderness knowledge. In return, I'll keep planning the battles for 4 people, not 3. The first time one of you would go down, if that happens, Ylliane will save you by making herself the target instead. At that point, we'll level up and that will keep the encounters mostly in line without me needing to play.

Alternatives are looking for a fourth or making the encounters a bit less deadly. But just a bit.

Great to see the game continue, Falconloft! Thanks for taking up the GM mantle. (I'm still game to switch to 2e if anyone wants to try it, but we can also continue with 1e as y'all see fit.)

Thanks for taking up the GM mantle. Is 2e available yet? I'm fine with either.

OOC:
2e is in 3rd-round playtests, and while we can switch, it would mean some changes to characters, and some rules that maybe aren't 100% clear yet.

I thought it was basically done; we're just waiting on the print copies. It's supposedly backward compatible and allows mix-and-match of 1e and 2e classes. But no sweat either way.

@SavageBob - It's backwards compatible with the adventures, but the characters do have a few fundamental changes that would need to be accounted for. It's mostly HP calculation and such, nothing super-major, but we would need to do it.

Gamemaster's Guide playtest ends this week, Hero Handbook ends on the 4th of next month.

Alright, I think I've got enough prepared. Just to make sure all the relationships are relevant, can I get everyone to roll relationship dice again? We're going to use them a bit differently, though.

If you get a 5 or a 6, you're going to be able to get a bonus at some point before the current arc is over. What is the benefit? It's up to you. It could be reinforcements in a battle, or favorable conditions, or a piece of magic loot after a battle. It could be a temporary bonus to a roll or a reroll. When you want it, you say you're using it, and then I'll add it in.

If you get a 3 or a 4, you're going to still get a bonus, but it's going to have a cost to it.

If you get a 1 or a 2, you can change a problem into a different problem. How does this work? Well, say you're trying to cross a broken down bridge. You've got a relationship with the High Druid so you can say vines have grown up and made a natural bridge. Problem? They're still growing and aren't going to stop for you to cross it.

If for some reason an idea just doesn't work at all, I will give you some minor items as compensation, and you keep your roll.

Sounds fun! Looks like this thread doesn't allow rolls. Should we roll in the IC?

It now allows rolls.
