"A lot of time has passed. We must have been in that enchantment longer than expected.", Barley says mostly to himself. He turns from the balcony smiling. Even though the city is choked with vegetation, he can't help but be impressed by it's raw beauty.

"Now, let's see if there is any remnant of that long ago meeting.", he thinks and searches the balcony room for clues.
OOC:
Barley is going to search room 1 to see if he can find a remnant of his vision.

Though the room does not have any furniture at this time it layout matches that of his vision and a carful examination of the floor shows that there might have been a table filling the center of it long ago.

Vaun is astonished to see such a beautiful view of the city from the balcony, "When we finally cure the sickness this place will be beautiful to live in. But, we still have to find the heart and convince it that this place is beautiful and worth living."

"In my vision, I saw a young woman planting a seed and singing a song as it started to grow. There was also a highly suspicious mole at her side... if these were sights of the past, who or what is trying to communicate with us?"
Feb 6, 2024 5:11 pm
"I think these were true visions, look there. These marks faded with time are where the table was in mine. Perhaps it is the heart itself trying to communicate? Wait, what was this about a mole? Berulga, Vaun, did you also see Rhidon's mole?", Barley asks.

Vaun scratched his chin, "I don't know about a mole; I saw an abandoned city, a waterfall, and I heard rustling water. Somewhere, I heard the feet sound of a creature approaching. It felt like it had many feet. Maybe, it is a mole? But I didn't see one, actually."
Feb 7, 2024 7:49 pm
"Prehaps it was another spider? Or maybe the spirit of the lady still roams the halls? Either way, we should continue", says Barley and thinks to the elemental, "When everyone is ready, please continue to lead us towards the heart."
OOC:
If someone wants to explore another room first, lets do that. I'm ready to move on and now the elemental is ready when we are :)

What about the mole was suspicious, Rhidon?

If Vaun's vision was an empty city, Barley's vision was of a thriving and populated one, and I witnessed the day of the destruction, then perhaps Rhidon saw the planting of the Tree Heart? I still can't figure out what it all means, but I'm eager to push ahead and find out.

You look around curiously as you follow the water elemental back to the stairs leading up. They curve gently and after a while you pass through another door that had to be forced open. Beyond the door your see a room with the floor covered in perfect hexagonal tiles, and several sundered shields are scattered throughout the room. In one corner stands a suit of armor, matching the shield in design and similarly battered.

"Oh, I I meant that the mole was suspicious of me. He stared at me the whole time while the girl didn't take her eyes off of the sapling. It wasn't aggressive or anything Beruga, just got the impression it was wary of me."

Rhidon looks over the armor and shields looking for any signs or markings indicating a rank or division.
OOC:
The goal is to try and discern if this is equipment from some type of unit like an army, with clearly defined rankings and hierarchy, or something less organized.

Barley looks at the broken shields and battered armor. As he does he opens himself to the area, searching for any unique unnatural or magical energies.
OOC:
Looking to see if anything is going to try to jump out at us like a ghost.

Armor
As Rhidon steps up to the armor to examine it the suite lunges at him and they fall in a tumble. As they do the armor morphs until there are 2 Rhidon that look exactly alike! 1 damage to Rhidon, deflected by his armor

Vaun looked at the armor with a surprised look as it got animated and turned into another Rhidon. "What magic is this?" He spoke telepathically at Rhidon, "Master Axehorn, nod if you can listen to me. We will attack the other one."

When he noticed the signal from the actual Rhidon, he drew his dagger at slashed at the other one.

OOC: Do we have to roll to detect the fake Rhidon or can we just make it sure by conversing with Rhidon mentally?

Barley watches Vaun attack Rhidon's doppelganger and seizes the moment pulling out his sword.

Vaun slashes at the thing and as he ducks to do so Barley stabs it, timing his blows in-between the slashes
OOC:
Sounds good I edited the action. Sorry if I hit you @CurtFactor! I didn't!

OOC:
Barley is the only one who is actually in communication with everyone else by telepathy. He acts as an old switchboard or semaphore tower operator and can relay things back and forth. So it is a good idea but as it has to go through Barley and this is a fast paced situation.
You have to roll to hit the correct one. I am ruling that taking time to not hit your ally will take 1 action each. So, should I remove the 1st or 2nd rolls. . . . hmmm ok I guess we can use the 1st attack.
Roll a test with disadvantage to determine who is who. 1-2 you are unsure and attack A, 3-4 you are unsure and attack B, 5-6 you discern correctly and attack the doppelganger. I will track damage on who is who until you are certain or one of them is dead.
Both of the Rhidon grapple and strike at each other. The doppelganger is perfectly mimicking Rhidon and the pair roll on the ground in a tangled mess. Even Barley has trouble telling who is who as the sudden commotion breaks his mental link to the combatants. He relays the suggestions but both dwarfs nod their heads. Was that one first or was it just a trick of them thrashing around. With both grappling and moving as they are it is nearly impossible to tell the difference.

OOC:
Those who already posted can edit the post to add a roll to pick the correct target or just add a new post with the roll

OOC: Damn, the chemistry between Barley, Rhidon and Vaun is strong!
Feb 12, 2024 4:36 am
Beruga, not knowing which Rhidon is authentic, acts quickly. Reaching into her pouch, she pulls out a string and attempts to secure it around the leg of one of the struggling Rhidons. On the other end of the string, a big red balloon begins to inflate...
OOC:
How high is the ceiling of this room? I'm hoping there is at least enough clearance to separate the two?

The groups hesitates only a moment before assaulting the doppelganger and Beruga is quick to hoist it up and off of Rhidon who gets to his feet. Barely alive the thing shifts to a smaller form with grey skin as it spins, suspended by its foot tied to the balloon that bobbs along the 12' ceiling.
