Ricard aids in the trap finding via spear pokes, but his mind drifts to the exquisitely light blade at his hip. A weapon of this caliber had never crossed the warrior's path and he found himself hungry for the chance to use it again. Perhaps it was a good idea to clear out the goblins after all...

Noticing Pickles imitating him, Bob gradually starts making slightly more and more exagerrated motions, seeing if the Halfling will continue with him.

You leave the West Hall through the southeasterly exit. It continues due east for 10’ before reaching a corner section that turns to the south. This is followed immediately by another corner section that turns back to the east.

Looking ahead you can see doors on your right (south) 10’ and 30’ ahead of you, and a side passage to your left (north) between them, 20’ ahead.

Bob

Bob will cautiously approach the nearest door on the South and listen at it.
Feb 5, 2025 3:43 pm
While Bob stops at that first door (at 10'), Gabbro inches further along, testing the floor, to the intersection with the side passage (at 20') so he can glance around the corner.
Feb 5, 2025 5:59 pm
Ricard keeps his position next to Gabbro and aids in the poking of floors...
Feb 6, 2025 12:11 am
Luther will move up to cover Bob and provide some light.

It took the Halfling a while to realise the human was purposely exaggerating his movements, and was not until his little legs almost did the splits that Pickles could not help but smile at the joke. "You remind me of Uncle Hyperbole, when he did things he did not do them by halves. One time he grew a bread so long it dragged several feet behind him, my friends and I could use it as a skipping rope. Unfortunately one day he walked to close to the mill wheel." Pickles stops the story there and shakes his head, "He was a fun Uncle. I think you’ll be fun."

The Halfling gives a big grin before skip off after Grabbo, leaving Bob to listen at the door. Once at the intersection Pickles pricks up an ear to listen for any sounds down the corridor.

All seems quiet.

Gabbro sees a corridor that extends north for 20’ before ending at a closed portcullis. He recognises the room beyond as the Chamber of the Jungles.

Again, all seems quiet. As far as Pickles can tell, there’s no other obvious presence in your vicinity.

Bob smiles and says to Pickles, "thanks, I'll remember to shave."
He then moves down to the next door to listen at it.

I'm still guffawing over "Grabbo."
Feb 7, 2025 6:45 pm
Gabbro returns to Bob and the others, reporting: "Nobody around that corner; it just leads back to the "jungle" room as you'd expect." He nods toward the door, as if to say: shall we open it?

"These surprises are always so fun. Get ready with that bow Pickles Master of the Bow. Luther will set the lantern down back out of the way and prepare for combat.

Bob carefully puts his silver arrow away and takes out a normal one, readying his bow for a fight!
Feb 8, 2025 6:52 am
Pickles moves to a position parallel with Bob to ensure anyone or thing exiting the room is court in a crossfire.

It seems similarly quiet beyond the second door.
You return to the first door and ready yourselves to open it.

Who will open the door? And, are you going to attempt to burst through with the possibility of surprising anyone/thing on the other side (which will require an "Open Doors" roll)? Or will you prise it open more cautiously at the risk of alerting those on the other side?

Ricard the Subtle bursts through the door to surprise …

… an old, largely empty storeroom.

Dusty wooden shelves line the walls of the 10’ x 10’ space. There’s nothing on the shelves - it seems the room was looted long ago. The only item of note is a rusty iron key lying on the floor in one corner.
