[Gameplay] 6. Sepulcher of the Servant

Dec 29, 2023 11:24 pm
The Complex Puzzle I'm Skipping...
An enormous spiral mosaic, partially obscured by a tattered tarpaulin, is built into the floor of the tower. While you identify this as the holy symbol of Pharasma, the observatory was dedicated to Maat and Thoth, two deities with little, if any, relation to Pharasma. In fact, the spiral conceals a secret door leading down. Opening it requires speaking a secret phrase.

Fortunately, this phrase is inscribed along the walls with the prayers to Pharasma. In Ancient Osiriani there are all of the common prayers and affirmations to the Lady of Graves worked into the building’s decor save the phrase, "All who live must pass through the doorway of death to face her judgment."

Reciting this phrase while standing on the spiral opens the secret door, revealing a stone spiral staircase that leads down.

The Spiral Down
The spiraling stairway from above terminates in this vaulted chamber. Looming jackal-headed statuary, oversized pillars, and a long reflecting pool lend a grandiose scale to the room.

Hieroglyphs cover the walls, describing the Shepses family’s history and the life of Nefru Shepses—his divine inspiration to join Pharasma’s faith, the creation of the necropolis, and his restoration of Wati.

Tabat looks around in awe as they reach the base of the base of the spiral stairs. "This place, it is beyond anything we've seen so far. Who knows how long it has lain undisturbed...possibly since the end of its construction. These Jackal-headed statues standing guard, along with the clear inspiration of Pharasma here, this must be the tomb of Nefru Shepses himself, or at least a close family member. Do you concur, Khadi? A place holy to both the new gods and the old."

OOC:
Happy New Year
Jaware, who as a matter of course, keeps his eyes open for the telltale glow of magic, steps toward the reflecting pool. "There is something in there, at the bottom. It is ... abjuration magic. Buried in the sand at the bottom."

You do some tests, and find that the water itself isn't magical, or poisonous or acidic. Nor does it appear to be home to any dangerous creatures, although that is more difficult to discern.

Searching the silt at the bottom, you find a pair of bracers of armor +1 and 30 silvery rods. They are carved in hieroglyphs marking them as funerary rods to sanctify the pool. Made of silver, they're worth 50 gold each.
Jan 7, 2024 2:07 am
"These will fetch a good price," Tabat says, collecting the rods together. "And the bracers as well, unless one of you might find use for them."
OOC:
Happy New Year everyone!

I'm assuming all of us use traditional armor, even Jaware, right? Bracers are probably decent loot though.

Khadi doesn't wear armour, but she's already got some bracers.
'Yes...though this suggests our Masked man isn't here for looting. We should be on our guard.'

Jaware wears a mithril shirt, yes.
Jan 7, 2024 8:09 pm
"Right," Tabat says, "Let's press on, and be wary." He heads to one of the two central sets of northern doors and, after Iseret checks them over for traps, pushes them open.
Jan 7, 2024 8:32 pm
Iseret checks the doors to the north. They're untapped and unlocked.

The arched ceiling of this chamber towers overhead, rising to a height of sixty feet above the tiled floor. Hundreds of small alcoves cover the walls, hidden behind neglected silk curtains in blue and gold. A small altar sits in the center, caked in unsightly stains. A heavy scent of camphor and pitch hang in the air.

Thirty zombies are chained to the walls with improvised shackles, but a dozen uncontrolled zombies roam the room freely, attacking any living creature that enters the hall.

They shamble towards you. Everyone can act before they get attacks in.

Knowing, given the enemies before them, what Kahdi would do, Tabat waits for her to work her divine magic, then moves to stand between her any remaining, oncoming danger. "Protect Khadi," he says to Andromeda as he rushes forward.

With khopesh and shield he swings at the nearest enemy.

Andromeda rushes forward as well, chomping at any enemy that comes close to Khadi.

As the second last zombie falls to Iseret's blade, you hear sounds behind you and four individuals appear.

Meret-Hetef
The leader, wearing a golden mask, points at you with her weapon. "You fools! The mask belongs to us! We are the true heirs to the Sky Pharaoh’s legacy! When he rises again to reclaim his throne, we will receive Hakotep’s blessings, not the likes of you!" The cultists attack.

The cultists have AC 16, flatfooted 14, so Iseret misses her sneak attack.

Tabat attacks Meret-Hetef, who's AC is 17, so that hero point comes in perfectly. The attack hits hard, and she takes terrible damage. 29 damage. With Jaware's snowball and arrow, that's 42 to her.

Jaware launches a pair of arrows at the leader, hoping to take them down and demoralize the cultists. Fat chance of that, he thinks.

She squeaks at the sudden overwhelming power demonstrated, takes a five foot step back, and uses her wand. She vanishes from sight.

The three cultists attack Tabat and Iseret. Tabat takes 13 electricity damage, but Iseret isn't struck.

"Nope-" Tabat says, stepping forward slightly and swinging into the space just previously occupied by the cultists' leader. He knows that if they stay hidden much longer they may escape, so swings wide and strong, trying to use his knowledge of their last known positioning to get a hit in, even while shrugging off the pain from the magic still crackling across the folds in his armor.

"Andromeda takes these guys out!" His companion rears around approaches but stops short of the melee. The camel pulls its head back, aims at one of the cultists that just used magic against Tabat, and spits a disgusting wad of thick phlegm at the enemy's face.

"For the sake of Horus!" Tabat curses as his blade swings through empty air. He takes a split second to activate the power of his shield, then immediately release the energy to send healing energy through his body.

Tabat steps toward Andromeda once the figthting has abated and pats her gently on the neck. "Good girl, brave girl," he says. She lifts her head and nuzzles him in response.

After cleaning the blood from his blade he approaches Iseret- "What is it, what do you see?"
Jan 17, 2024 3:30 pm
"A secret panel. Look here, see the seams?"
OOC:
Yup, I'm a level behind. I'll fix that today if I get the chance.
Jan 18, 2024 12:50 am
OOC:
Hey, we still kicked ass. Can't wait to see what lvl 6 Iseret can do!
"You're right! I continue to be amazed by your keen eyes, Iseret." Tabat presses at the panel, to see if it will open.
Jan 18, 2024 1:06 am
The zombies chained to the wall lurch and attempt to get to you in a silent unstoppable desperation.

Getting close enough to the wall to examine it, but not get mauled by horde, the panel on the wall has an indentation that fits a design on the altar. The altar draws your eyes. Your senses prickled by it some how. It feels wrong.
Jan 18, 2024 1:18 am
"Hmm," Tabat says. He walks over to the altar and inspects it. "May need your eyes on this too, Iseret - does it seem like it fits here? And be on your guard, that remaining cultist with the mask may still be in this very room."

Iseret is certain that the family emblem in the altar can be removed, and inserted into the panel it will open a hidden door.

As the others study the panel Khadi gives a quick glance over the cultists bodies for anything that may be useful before her eyes are drawn to the chained up zombies. Her hand goes to the dagger at her belt. They couldn't just be left.

Then ones lunges again and sense returns to her. Best ask the others who actually know how to do such things without getting hurt.

'Once we have the dork open, perhaps we can end these creaures? Let their souls move on?'
Jan 19, 2024 8:54 am
"I agree, Khadi. They cannot be allowed to languish here - it is affront to the sanctity of life and death itself."

He gestures to the altar, "Something is very wrong with this. It has been corrupted."

He considers and on a whim sets his bag down and pulls out a bottle of holy water. He whispers a prayer to Horus and pours its contents over the altar. "May this unfortunate corruption be dissipated, at least in time."
Jan 20, 2024 12:27 am
Examining it, Tabat and Khadi know that's he's on the right track. The large, heavy seal can be easily pried from the altar, and soaking it in the holy water will reverse the taint of negative energy and restore the seal to its original appearance.

After you do so, and return the restored seal to the altar it immediately reinstates the chamber’s consecrate effect and destroys any zombies remaining in the room.

They crumple to the ground in their chains
Jan 20, 2024 1:59 am
"Well, that took care of that issues," Tabat says, looking around the room in satisfaction. "Now, perhaps, we shall see what's behind this door you found, Iseret."
Jan 20, 2024 4:28 am
A hidden panel conceals a Shepses family heirloom, a caster’s shield engraved with the image of a phoenix and whippoorwills taking flight. The shield has already been inscribed with an owl’s wisdom spell.
Jan 20, 2024 6:45 am
Tabat takes up the shield and looks it over. He turns to Khadi and extends it. "Perhaps this might be a great boon for our warrior priestess of Khepri," he suggests.

Statues of female figures clothed in spidery robes and masks stand with arms outstretched at either end of this wide, short hall. The tiled floor is a detailed mosaic starscape.

Iseret finds a 10-foot-square pressure plate in front of the hallway’s northern doors.

Tabat will inspect the statues more closely, as they are of interest to him.

"There is still the matter of the cultist leader from the last fight - they turned invisible and are likely hiding...anywhere nearby."

Jaware will help, but he's only of average strength. Still, maybe he helps shave a few seconds off the effort. Andromeda watches with the intense disdain that only a dromedary can muster.

A few seconds less than six or seven minutes later...

The rubble is moved aside piled out of the way, leaving you a clear path to the doors. The doors open easily enough now that Iseret has removed the trap

"I thought we may have lost you," Tabat says. "But you are alright. I am glad for that, my friend."

He moves some of the rubble and as they pass into the next room closes the door behind them. If the doors open toward them, he places some of the rubble in front of the door, in such a way that it would be disturbed if the door opens. "Keep your ears open - if the door opens again, we'll know the invisible one follows."

When everyone is ready to press on, he gestures to the east. "Let us circuit the hall and check along the way. That trap was not disabled or set off - it may be that nobody has been here for a very long time."

Circling the hallway first, the only sound you hear is some muffled screaming from the left hand doors. Not exactly terror screams, but shrieking of some kind.

To the north, stairs lead down.
Jan 27, 2024 1:03 am
"I suppose we had better check on that sound, in case whatever it is decides to make trouble on our flank in the future. I don't think the cultists made it this far, however - we should expect some kind of creature that could have survived down here for many years. A ghoul or undead abomination, perhaps...or worse."

Tabat stows his shield and khopesh to withdraw his flail. Holding it with two hands he readies himself by the door, ready to open it when the others are prepared.
Feb 7, 2024 6:54 pm
Iseret readies her weapons and assumes a crouching stance.
Feb 8, 2024 3:52 am
You realize the screaming is coming from the inner doors, but again it's strangely muffled. After clearing the door is free from traps, you open it carefully.

Tidy wooden cabinets with brass knobs and labels fill this musty library to the brim. A large cedar table stands against the south wall.

An undead head in a gilded cage screams at your intrusion, and the three skeletons in the room move to attack, one of them picking up the cage.

Tabat is up first, then the skeletons

Feb 10, 2024 5:57 pm
Iseret also investigates the papers, trying to make sense of the writing.
Feb 10, 2024 7:40 pm
After reading through the journals, you learn...

Neferekhu appears to be the grandmother of a Nebta-Khufre. Though short-tempered and abusive, Neferekhu possessed oracular insights that brought her family status and wealth. When she died, Nebta-Khufre was unwilling to allow her prescience to pass away with her. Spurred on by madness and wine, Nebta-Khufre severed his grandmother’s head and used unspeakable rituals to reanimate Neferekhu’s head as a miserable, screaming undead creature literally trapped in a gilded cage and longing for destruction.

Neferekhu has spent much of her time here dictating her thoughts and memories to her skeletal champion guards, who have scrawled her stream-of-consciousness rants into these journals scattered across the table.

Her journals describe the nightmarish visions of the cursed Mask of the Forgotten Pharaoh that haunted her even before her death, and her grandson Nebta-Khufre’s trek through Osirion’s desert to Wati in search of the mask following his exile from Tephu. Her visions are of a "golden face" and the return of the "god-king of the skies."

Neferekhu hasn’t been any farther into the Sepulcher, but she knows that her grandson has animated undead bodyguards to serve him along with a single mumia-addled thug from his cult in Tephu.

Lastly, she knows of the mysterious creature in the shadows that her grandson views as a mentor and teacher. It is a gargoyle-like creature with long spiky legs and a bat-like head—its body seems to be made of living, dark purple crystal.
Feb 11, 2024 12:58 am
"I think we could figure something out, if I ask her real nicely," Tabat says, patting Andromeda on the neck.

He leans in to the camel, "Nice work, girl. I am impressed with your bravery."

He walks over to Iseret and asks about what she's found, listening to the details in the writing. "This is all very troubling, but it gives us an idea of what we may face as we venture further into this place. That mask seems to be at the center of it all - do you think that cultist was wearing that very same mask? Perhaps trying to deliver it to Nebta-Khufre to finish what he was searching for all those years ago?"
Feb 11, 2024 5:11 pm
You explore the rest of the upstairs before heading down, and the only other fight you encounter are some foul, diseased undead dogs (called festrogs). If Khadi wants to spend another Channeling attempt, that will largely take care of them, and Tabat would be immune to any disease they obviously carry.

In one of the other rooms, you find a scroll of death ward, hidden behind a panel. There is nothing else of value.

Down the stairs
At the bottom of the stairs, carved from the bedrock beneath Wati, you find an immaculate chamber tiled in blue ceramic. Large bronze double doors exit the room to the south.

Feb 12, 2024 4:51 pm
The doors don't open, and Jaware says, "They're magicked. Wait, take cover!" Just as he's about to explain, the blue floor tiles rise up into the air and begin to swirl about, banging into you faster and faster.

You can retreat from the room, or attempt to defend yourself from the flying tiles by destroying them (destroying 20 will end the threat, they're size Tiny). If they hit you, they'll do damage.
Feb 13, 2024 9:23 am

Feb 14, 2024 3:08 pm

Feb 15, 2024 9:12 am
"Hmm, let me try something...assuming all those blue tiles might do this, maybe we don't need to wait for them to be in the air." He steps near the edge of the tiles and swings his adamantine heavy flail hard against the ground, seeing what effect it has on the tiles.
Feb 15, 2024 4:38 pm
You can easily smash the ones you can reach, but not the rest.
OOC:
The tiles are triggered by a creature entering the area. There are 20 and let's say Tabat and Jaware have now destroyed 5 of those, the rest being out of reach from the edge.
Feb 16, 2024 1:06 am
Tabat grunts with the exertion, but seeing results smiles behind his mask. "They deactivated when we left the room again. Perhaps a skirmish?" He steps further into the room, prepared entirely for the tiles to rise up again, bringing his weapon down to destroy more of them, then attempts to withdraw to the stairs once again.
OOC:
mechanically, are we entering combat when the tiles rise up? if so, a surprise round on our part would make sense? move in on surprise round, attack during round 1 and move back out of the room?
Feb 16, 2024 6:47 pm
Sure, that makes sense. You can move and attack, then roll initiative. If you win init., attack and move out, otherwise, you get attacked by one tile. Jaware can shoot a few as well.

Seems like a lot of back and forth, but I can summarize if that's your plan.

Iseret notices a couple things, as you pick your way through. There is a secret door to the right hand side (map left) and inside, you find spare tiles to replace the broken ones. There are also shards and remnants of broken tiles carefully stored in the corner. With a little magical insight, you also find a magical coin in the rubble.

After unlocking the doors in the blue room, you find a short hallway, then more doors. Carefully checking for traps, the unlocked doors open to an octagonal room.

A fifteen foot stature of a matronly woman with long, flowing hair stands in the center of this chamber between two large stone tables. Ten curtained alcoves break up the hieroglyph-covered walls. Enormous bronze doors stand to the north and south.

Now that Andromeda is called down, Tabat heads to the north-west hall to explore the room in that direction, while asking Iseret to keep any eye peeled for traps along the way if willing.

Carvings of somber women and vulture-headed angels adorn the walls of this chamber, and the smell of cedar, onions, and myrrh is overwhelming. Viscous amber fluids fill glass reservoirs, while stone bins of sand, sawdust, and salt crowd the floor. Hooks, knives, and other grisly-looking tools are neatly stored on several worktables along the walls.

With Iseret's wounds tended to, and then barbarian-turned-ghast dispatched, you have a few other places to go.
OOC:
On the map you're in Q11, you've explored Q8 and Q9. You could go to Q12, or from Q9 through the doors south or down the corridor to the west.
Mar 7, 2024 1:24 am
"I'm glad you're alright, my friend," Tabat says to Iseret as the halfling's paralysis wears off and she comes to. He gratefully clasps Khadi's shoulder for a moment. "Let's explore this opposing room before we head through the doors," he suggests (Q12)
Mar 7, 2024 4:34 pm
Half-walls and heavy curtains divide this room into a network of small apartments and common spaces. Colorful linens, faded with age, lie neatly folded at the foot of each bare bed, save for the far end of the room, where rich silks and pillows cover a bed surrounded by a mess of discarded books and notes.

The preserved corpses of two women are laid on separate beds in this chamber, dressed in fine Taldan silks and Osirian jewelry
Mar 8, 2024 2:51 am
Tabat shakes his head. "Perhaps these women were laid to rest here to accompany the one whom this crypt was built for." He takes a look at some of the discarded notes, but leaves the corpses alone with hopes their souls may continue to rest.
Mar 9, 2024 2:26 am
The notes are nonsense, impossible to gain any understanding other than the author was looking for something, and rooting through many works trying to find it.
Mar 16, 2024 5:41 am
Tabat nods to the others and approaches the larger doors to the south, pushing them open to reveal the room beyond.
Mar 16, 2024 3:53 pm
OOC:
Let me know if before leaving the upper right room you take the jewelery and fine clothes.
The southern doors are locked, and beyond Iseret's skill to unlock.

Jaware concentrates on the door and says, "There is magic in the lock."
Mar 16, 2024 5:47 pm
Iseret sighs. She knew that there was magic that could open a magically locked door, but it was beyond her capability.
Mar 16, 2024 5:58 pm
Perhaps we should explore everywhere else first. I may be able to ask Khepri for magic to open the lock when the sun rises tomorrow'
Mar 16, 2024 8:24 pm
Tabat does not plan to disgrace the dead. The women, may they rest in peace, he leaves untouched, their valuables remaining.

Upon reaching the magically-locked door he grimaces. "Nothing can be so easy," he says, looking around. "Alright Khadi - let's explore elsewhere then get some rest. In the morning, perhaps Khepri will bless us, as she so often does."

He heads west to the path leading out of the room.
Mar 17, 2024 10:11 pm
The corridor turns to stairs turning and descending in a full circle before opening into a room.

The gentle sound of lapping water echoes off this chamber’s towering ceiling. The floor is covered in sand, and tiny stone replicas of buildings and streets fill most of the gallery, creating a room-sized map of Wati. A stark black pillar rises from the center of the room.

The ceiling in this room is 50 feet high and the black pillar is 30 feet tall. The sand and water extend down 2 feet to the chamber’s stone floor.

Khadi sees it with Jaware, a dark shadow atop the black pillar. Something lurks.

'This is very impressive. My Dad would be amazed at.. Suddenly her hand moves to grab at Tabat, tug him close. We are being watched' She whispers in his her, nodding subtky towarda the shadow she can see.

Sauntering in a line, you sashay down the stairs and across the room, past the Guardian.

A raised, pyramidal platform in the center of this large, circular chamber holds an opulent sarcophagus, bedecked with human skulls and profane symbols scrawled in blood, standing between two braziers burning with blue flame. An elevated walkway runs around the perimeter of the hall, behind massive stone statues of Pharasma that support the room’s domed ceiling. Elaborately appointed crypts, each fit for royalty, sit beneath each statue’s feet. Hundreds of desiccated bodies lie haphazardly strewn across the chamber’s polished floor.

Nebta Khufre
In the center a man in a golden mask focuses on two mummies, chanting upon them. All three turn and stare at you as the doors open.

The man says, "Ah, fresh bodies. Being them to me, without the skin." The mummies lumber forward.

As the mummies approach to within range, Andromeda takes a bite at the one not already targeted by Tabat.

Tabat plunges his spear at the target of his decree twice before Andromeda focuses her ire on the other mummy and bites into it yet again, this time with divine intent and focus.
OOC:
First is the AoO; Andromeda attacks the mummy that Tabat is NOT targeting.

Then Tabat full attacks from atop Andromeda vs the target of his smite evil. I messed up earlier against the outsider we fought - he doesn't get the 'first attack' damage boost against evil outsiders or dragons. Instead, his Undead Scourge archetype removes those and focuses on Evil Undead - against which the damage boost is on every attack (not just the first).

If the mummy goes down with his first strike, his second will target the other mummy and do 12 less damage.

Andromeda uses her 1/day smite evil against the other mummy then attacks it again.

Note: Tabat's AC is currently 22 from his spell, and 24 against the target of smite evil.

He looks around and spots Iseret, her feet still stuck in the glasslike material covering the ground near the entrance. He pats Andromeda on the neck, then hops down from her and rushes over to help break Iseret free, using his crowbar if necessary.

I didn't.. I just removed his spell. So you could hit him. I did mean for... She gestures to the body, before her eyes drift back to the mask.

'Well.. there is a very stupid way to find out.'
Apr 21, 2024 11:38 am
Tabat looks to Khadi and sees her eyes on the mask. "We don't know what that thing is, or what it does. For all we know, it might be some kind of focus for something evil - it could hurt you," Tabat suggests, "I recommend we take it to someone that can properly identify its properties."
Apr 21, 2024 12:15 pm
'But if it is the thing responsible.. do we have time? It didn't seem to hurt him. If it made him act ike that..well I doubt you will struggle to conta me. Unless any of you are secretly a zombie.' She gives a nervous chuckle. '..though if you all want to wait.. we can wait.'
Apr 21, 2024 3:19 pm
Jaware flips through the spellbook. "A spell called Identify is in here. I've meant to get a copy of this. It could help me identify all the magical properties. I would need about ten hours."

Apr 21, 2024 3:48 pm
Iseret listens to the conversation with interest. "I agree with Tabat. We should wait until we know what it is before we experiment with it."
Apr 21, 2024 4:03 pm
'..okay. You're right. Lets be sensible.
Apr 21, 2024 8:28 pm
"That sounds like a good plan, Jaware. If you can prepare that tonight, we can know more about the mask tomorrow. Now, is there anything further we want to do in the Necropolis, or should we head back to Wati?"
Apr 22, 2024 3:09 am
Iseret considers her bare, burned, and aching feet. "I could use a decent rest in a real bed," she says.

There are two things that could be looted that you haven't.

The Guardian which you snuck past has a magic flail. If you want it, you'll need to defeat it.

The room that you rested in had two dead woman, who due to Gentle Repose are immune to being raised. Their funerary clothing was worth quite a bit of you'd like to strip then down to their small clothes.

Once you decide that, I'll post the last RP scene

OOC:
As much as Lights inner loot gremlin wants Khadi may be hesitant to take the clothes as no longer under thr rules of the lottery but can probably be convinced.

Teh flail being useful she will offer to buff people to try and take it down quickly if others want it.

OOC:
I don't think stripping the dead women of their clothes would be respectful of the dead - seems worse than taking a weapon or funerary mask, to strip them naked. idk maybe I'm overthinking it. Tabat is quite pleased with his current 2-handed flail, but I would be okay with fighting the guardian statue if we want it for loot.

WhtKnt, want one more fight before we leave, or should we call it a wrap? I'm good either way.
Apr 23, 2024 12:19 am
OOC:
Iseret is good with calling it quits for now. She can't use the flail and if Tabat is good with his, then there's no need to even risk ourselves. As for stripping bodies, even Iseret wouldn't stoop that low. I say we leave the nice women their dignity.

Sounds good to me! Sounds like we're ready to wrap up the book! Woo!

You return to the surface then make your way to the gates. Countless undead wait on the necropolis side of the gate, but their numbers dwindle, picked off slowly by pharasman clerics.

You know the secret way under the wall through the brickworks used by the snuggling gang. It's late afternoon when you return to the Grand Mausoleum.
OOC:
Assuming that's where you go? If not, where do you do go?
Apr 24, 2024 1:33 am
OOC:
Do we get a sense that we ended whatever was continuing to raise the dead? the machines we were activating were pointing us to the source of the energy - we...did find that, right? It was the necromancer with the mask?

Also, I believe we were to return the focusing gem/stone back to the dragon. Tabat would have done that one the way back.

Otherwise, on to the Grand Mausoleum!
Apr 25, 2024 12:12 am
OOC:
Yes, the adventure doesn't indicate how you know this, but the Mask is clearly the key to this mystery.
Shardizhad the crystal dragon is delighted that you return the compass to her, and offers you a bargain. She'll buy the compass gem back from you for 1350, keeping the difference as her profit.

Later, at the Grand Mausoleum...

Sebti the Crocodile
After some high level Divination, "The mask is the Mask of the Forgotten Pharoah. It's the repository of the a piece of the essence, or ka of a powerful individual. By the right of the Pharoah, the current one, it is yours. But first will you allow us to use it to reverse the terrible effect of was used for?"

Fortunately, the church of Pharasma can conduct a ritual to lay all of the undead raised by the ka pulse to rest. Once the ritual is completed, the church can begin the somber work of returning the dead to their graves. The Voices of the Spire turn their attention to maintaining peace among the living and assisting in the city’s recovery, and any psychopomps remaining within Wati are sent back to the Boneyard.

At this point, the city’s Panic Level automatically decreases by 1d4 points per day until it reaches 0.

Congratulations, you are level 7!

"Of course, High Priestess," Tabat says, facilitating the transfer of the mask into her care.

As the chaos of the city slowly turns to order, Tabat breathes a sigh of relief. "We did well here, my friends. The Destined Delvers may yet have become the Saviors of Wati."
OOC:
Yay! Congrats on completing the Book and for leveling up! This is now the highest level I've achieved (naturally) in a PbP Pathfinder game :D

The Mask of the Forgotten Pharaoh is in the PCs’ possession, and your right of ownership has the backing of Khemet III himself, as it’s the Ruby Prince who opened the necropolis to exploration in the first place. If you offer to give it to the church, Sebti, Nakht, and other prominent church officials argue for several hours over the fate of the mask, but ultimately decide to leave it in the hands of the Destined Delivers to avoid any possible political repercussions.

Yeah, dang - Tabat has a lot that scales off his CHA modifier - more lay on hands, higher saving throws (this would give him +2 to all his saves), etc. But I won't be selfish and would only take it if everyone else passes on it :) The disease immunity feature does overlap with his Paladin feature as well, so that's worth noting.

You take it. It woulld jst uncreas my channels and channel dcs, but yeah I would likely want to work in a combo one/also what a head slot for a phylactery.
Apr 25, 2024 7:09 pm
OOC:
Well, Iseret has no use for it, so she has no dog in this fight. That said, I think that Tabat can make better use of it than Khadi can.
Apr 25, 2024 8:45 pm
OOC:
Jaware has almost no use for it lol
Apr 25, 2024 8:54 pm
OOC:
Yeah I think in this isntance make more sen for Tabat, not the full caster as Khadi is built weird. If I was gking to out it in widom/was a dc caster I would argue more for it, but my cha is higher than my casting stat :p

I won't complain - plus, Tabat will look cool as hell wearing that :D
