OOC:
T6 and T5 are killed. Waiting on Hrafe.

"That's the end for you!"

Hrafe brought Glaezentorg down once more attempting to cleave through the bloodied troglodyte. His brutal attack hampered somewhat by the internal injuries that had weakened him.
OOC:
Ahahah mediocre.

Hrafe cuts the creature, bleeding out but not dead. It looks to see it is the only one of its kind left and pleads on its knees. "Please, have mercy! We eat scraps pale man gives us, and we have nothing else. I eat flesh given to me. Release me of this prison and I will not forget your kindness."
OOC:
No longer in combat. If you wish to kill the last trog, just say so. If one person want to kill it and another objects, the players should debate in character. If no resolution can be reached, we can let the dice decide.

"We already showed you kindness, and look what you did to us!" Makasi says, enraged at the creature's crocodile tears. "I think maybe we throw you in that pit over there."
Aug 24, 2024 10:35 pm
To emphasize her point Hrafe grabs the trogs throat and lifts him overhead. "I demand you repent before the gods amd goddesses of light. Swear on your immortal soul or I will destroy you!" Hrafe who was still in the throes of his rage spat in the troglodytes face each syllable.

Ylliane sighs. There was something to be said for the temerity of youth, but all the yelling was doing her head in. "Perhaps instead of reciting empty words, he can demonstrate his repentance by leading us to this pale man. He's undoubtedly the one we're looking to end."

"Yes, yes, pale man. I show you him!" without even waiting for you all, the trog sprints towards the area you came from, back to where from. You start to wonder if the "pale man" is the wight you killed already. Do you follow? Do you cut him down before he can run?

OOC:
Hrafe absolutely would not let him just scamper off. Though being superstitious he also doesn't want to simply kill the creature.

He is a bit amazed it speaks the common tongue, the others didn't.

Edgar sighs as the creature starts running. Had it been back in the days when he worked for the Crusader he wouldn't have let it live longe enough to talk, but he was playing by different rules these days."Would have been easier to just kill it immediately," he mutters before he attempts to follow the vile creature.

You follow the trog back to where you dropped down into this smelly tunnel for the first time and it points up at the hole you entered through that is uncovered. "Pale man make hole in sky and give food. We eat, pale man take bones. We not know why. Only food we can get. Trog try leave one time, no come back ever."
Aug 27, 2024 3:31 pm
OOC:
Is this the hole leading to the Trog caves, or the hole leading back to the outside world? We still haven't found any keys to help us free those captives, but I suspect this Trog won't know anything about that.

OOC:
you found the keys on the wight. This was an optional thing to explore. It leads to the room you fought the wight in.

OOC:
Ah ha, roger that.
Makasi can't help but feel a tinge of pity for the vile creature. "Well no one's going to be throwing you food anymore. The pale man is dead. Are there others of your kind down here?"

"I don't know how count, but last I know my group axe man gave food to and leaders with others chanting want more food soon."

What should be the trog's fate?

Kill it

Let it live, but keep it trapped here

Let it live, and let it leave the dungeon

At some point before you leave, you notice something reflexive in the pits near where the chanters were. It seems those were pits to throw unwanted bones, but the trogs have no use for gold and thus threw that stuff down there as well. If you spend half an hour or so, you can dig out 200 gold from each pit (400 total, so 100 gold for each of you)

You all debate for a while, and ultimately more decide to let it live than insist on killing it. The debate this becomes on if it should be left here, probably to die without new food, or to let it know about the dungeon and be allowed to leave. In the end, it is decided it should be allowed to leave. You life it up out of the hole and it runs away, hopefully to find a way out.

With that done, collect 400 gold total from the pits down below, use the command words and key you found on the wight to return to the prisoners, and let them free.

"Thanks for getting me out. I was gonna lose my mind if I had to hear that woman keep praying to the priestess. She's lucky the crusader and her have a truce so long as the demons are out there. Anyways, I think you said something about coming to save me to fulfill your end of some deal?" You inform him of the resurrection that was made. "Ah, gotcha. You guys can leave it to me to tell them how I was saved. I'll put in a good word for you. Unless you want to go back to fort triumph for something else, you guys can continue on wherever it is you were going." With that, the gnome high tails it to the entrance, using the command words you told him to get to the first floor and out of the dungeon.

The young priestess in the room with the gnome gets up and approaches Hrafe. "Thank you for saving us. While I was praying, i was told to pass this along to you. The priestess gave it to me in case I was harmed, but if I did not need it I was to give it to my savior." She reaches out a hand and a light forms. the light leaves her hand, circles Hrafe a few times, and then enters his chest. "This is a blessing of recovery. If you would be harmed to the point of falling unconscious, it will save you once." She then gives a respectful bow, hands together, and makes for the entrance to get to safety. She mentioned that she would head to fort triumph, where she would find safe passage back to the dragon emperor's capital city. She insisted she did not need to be escorted.
OOC:
Hrafe, make a note of "Priestess's Blessing of Protection". The effect is: If you would be reduced to 0 hit points, you can consume this blessing to immediately roll a free recovery. Once consumed, the blessing is lost.

is there anything you would like to do before you resume your journey to Anvil to help the dwarves? Oh, and you all get a full rest.
