My experiences:
Most people on here are great.
There will always be someone willing to help if you have an issue.
Some games are too slow for me.
I like games posting at least once per day, more if the group is motivated.
Don't get involved in too many games at once.
I burned myself out trying to be in too many at the same time. It made it not fun for me and when I quit it meant I affected all the other players as well.
Combat is slow
If you're playing something like D&D, a simple fight can take 3 or 4 days if you're posting once per day
