Chapter 4: The Waters of Menehune

Picking up on the actions of his party, Taresh contributes a firebolt to Regan, Admiral and Cordey's assault on Sahuagin 1.

The four attacks nearly simultaneously slam the Sahuagin (26 damage) and the creature drops dead onto the bank of the cascades' plunge pool. To the rest of the Sahuagin guards, the bolt and blasts come out of no where , seeming to suddenly emerge from thin air (depending on PC rolls, of course).
OOC:
Cordey, Regan, and Admiral please make a stealth check to see if the other guards perceive the party's quiet planning ahead of the attack. You get +10 stealth (on top of your regular stealth bonus) due to Taresh's veil of shadows. I will roll perception (with disadvantage) for the other guards to see if any pinpoint the attack's source location. This roll's result will be your rolls' DC.

Looking at the numbers here with the +10 bonus on top of regular bonuses...there's no way Regan, Taresh, or Tasya could not pass a stealth check DC 12. I'm going to roll for Caspian, Mischa, and Jin...

When their comrade (S1) suddenly collapses to the ground, the other Sahuagin guards look at the fallen in shock and then jump to arms peering around the glen for signs of the attackers.

One (S2) who appears to be a captain, hisses orders at the others with a loud guttural raspy sound. Immediately after, another sahuagin (S5) begins to swim quickly toward the lower waterfall, while the other two spread out on the bank weapons drawn looking for the perpetrators. The captain himself begins to search the other bank.

The Sahuagin hastily swimming toward the falls slows slightly from Admiral's hex and then gets blasted by Regan and hit with Cordey's bolt (12 damage). Wounded and hindered, it continues swimming even if at a slower rate.

The second blast emitting from the skiff alerts the searching Sahuagin to the attack's source. They turn back toward the plunge pool entrance where the veiled skiff is.

While Regan's and Cordey's attacks fall short, Admiral's blast stops the Sahuagin swimming toward the falls (S5) from making it just before it's concealed by the misty veil of water droplets near the crashing falls. Admiral's blast kills it.

Meanwhile the other Sahuagin move closer to the origin of the blasts (from their perspective). Two of them (S2:the captain and S3) rush across banks and leap into the water. The other (S4) dives into the pool and swims toward the skiff. S2 and S3 pass into the area shadowed by Taresh's veil and are then are able to see the party on the boat. Hissing at their attackers they discover on the boat, they lung at those on board...
OOC:
Two d8 rolls will determine who the Sahuagin attack.

1. Admiral
2. Cordey
3. Regan
4. Taresh
5. Tasya
6. Jin
7. Caspian
8. Mischa.

Continued after rolls...

Taresh stands tall and defiant at the front of the skiff. The two Sahuagin climb up on the pontoons and one lunges at Taresh with its spear. When Taresh attempts to dodge the blow he shifts backward into the range of the other creatures claws.

The boat rocks severely.
OOC:
Due to the rocking boat, all will have to pass a DC 10 (Athletics or Acrobatics) Dexterity check or have disadvantage on their next attack.
OOC:

The creatures tear into Taresh hitting him from both sides. (12 Damage) The monk loses his balance and falls from the boat splashing into the water.

Then a beam of crackling, blue energy lances out toward the Sahuagin captain from Jin's fingers, forming a sustained arc of lightning between him and the sahuagin. (7 damage)
