I think narratively it makes more sense for Adom to take the lead, even though it means we end up with B4 Perception +1D Religious History FoRK +1D working carefully (total of 6D) vs Ob 6.

We're almost surely going to fail, and suffer some sort of serious consequence, but I think that makes sense for the story.

B4 Perception vs (original) Ob 3 means it counts as a test to unlocking the skill. If it were Ob 4+, it would instead count as a test to improving the attribute. 10 - 4 = 6 tests required to unlock the skill.

They aren't helping so they've got several hours to kill.

Yeah. I wish they were able to help, but at most they'd be doing beginner's luck checks which can't mechanically succeed.

I just realized nobody else has Read. Magnus/Sabra has Elven Script, but Adom is the only one who could actually read the scrolls.

Adom is occupied with the scrolls for some time. Tefri, you can go back and talk to Adom about what you found at any time. I don't have issue with Adom getting distracted momentarily from his search.
